I had never done a professional photo session with anyone before when I hired Kate to do my headshots. I was in grad school studying to be an opera singer, and desperately needed professional headshots for my upcoming audition season. Not only did Kate fit me into her very busy schedule, but she was SO much fun during the shoot! I was so nervous because I thought it would be awkward to have someone tell me what kind of smile or face to make over and over again, but Kate just made me laugh the whole time, as she snapped away. I was totally comfortable and felt like I could completely trust her opinion. The shots came out beautifully. The colors she sees in the scene are exquisite and she has a way of making light appear on a page like I've never seen before. There is nobody I'd rather have take my next headshots. If I ever get married, I'd absolutely hire her to do my engagement or wedding photos. Check out her website to see some of her other work. It's exquisite.

I could not have been happier with Rachel, as a person AND a photographer. She was wonderful with my daughter, made her so comfortable and just seemed to adore taking the pictures. Then I saw the prints and I am telling you, they were BEAUTIFUL. Rachel caught so many of the expressions we saw every day, but ones we could never catch on film. She captured our daughters personality and we will treasure these pictures forever! Even though this was well over a year ago, I felt compelled to come on and share my RAVE REVIEWS of Rachel Kate Photography. Her website hopefully speaks for herself, her product is just amazing. But the good news is, so is SHE. She was a joy to work with!

We viewed her website and fell in love with her style of photography. So natural and so beautiful. The first time we met with Rachel we instantly clicked. She has such a wonderful easy-going and bubbly personality that I just adore about her. We knew she was "the one!" We recently had our engagement session with her in Boston (in the middle of the city, SURROUNDED by people) and we were so nervous that it would be awkward and uncomfortable. But after a few shots were taken we felt totally relaxed. Rachel has this incredible gift that seems to make herself and everyone else around become completely invisable! My fiance and I felt like it was just us, hanging out, enjoying the day in town. And of course Rachel would help us with poses and found some beautiful spots for the pictures. You can tell how much she LOVES her job! It was such a wonderful experience. I really don't know how she does it! We haven't seen the pictures just yet but I know they will be gorgeous! I have yet to see a photograph of hers that isn't perfect and we are SO excited to have her shoot our wedding. She isn't going to be just "the photographer at the wedding." She will be considered a guest as well. I just can't say enough about how great this girl is. She does portraits as well so I would recommend her to ANYONE who needs a professional photographer. I know you will fall in love with her too!

I lost count of the amount of family and friends who complimented not only her beautiful photographs but her kind, fun, and calming demeanor throughout the day. Carly manages to capture every important moment but not make you feel like you're in the spotlight. We originally hired Carly for our big wedding celebration in late October at a venue on the Cape. Little did we know, life would throw us a curveball and due to family circumstance, added a very emotional and intimate wedding ceremony ~1 month before our big day. Within 30 minutes of texting Carly to ask if she would be available for the smaller ceremony as well, she called me, confirmed a babysitter and promised she'd be there for us. Carly was caring, sensitive and human in a time when we needed it most. She captured moments we will truly cherish forever. Above all, she is a wonderful person to her core. Hiring Carly was the very best wedding decision we made! I will forever sing her praises to anyone who will listen!

As I looked through the photos, I couldn't believe how beautiful I looked and how well she captured me, the real me in all those moments. My husband and I, (A phrase I'll have to get used to...) are so impressed and touched by every image. Our story: We decided after losing our venue to mini-elope in the Boston Public Gardens. I had contacted Carly a few weeks out but decided to go w/ a friend, at the last minute he had a conflict and we rushed back to Carly hoping she was still available. Luckily she was all ours. The morning of our wedding I was violently sick and the schedule was all thrown off. Poor Carly and my makeup artist were left sitting in the hotel lobby for an hour while I sat in Boston traffic still slightly bent over from the queasiness. We staged in a nice little room in the Boston Park Plaza and Carly made the best of the horrible decor and the props we had brought. When we finally dressed me and set out for the park we had a very good time. Carly picked out a gorgeous tree with pink blossoms for some shots of the tiny wedding party. We played with blankets and paper umbrellas. The ceremony is all a blur with the park swarming with people blessed with one of the few 65 degree day in months. After the bombing I think a wedding in the park was a nice diversion, people clapped as my father and I came into view. Carly's photos captured every moment of the ceremony with a good eye. The reception was a small dinner for 10, so Carly just took pre pics and our little family got to have our private dinner which was best for us. We dashed off for our honeymoon asap. We weren't sure when the pics would be ready as friends have waited months but in just two weeks, one day after getting home we were looking at them and they are beautiful!
