I've been thinking for a while about leaving a review, but I cannot in good conscience keep quiet…read moreabout my experience with Joan and let anyone - let alone another bride wanting to get their wedding dress altered - go through what I did. We came in February with my dress and had a great time with Joan talking about what we would like done to the dress and when it would be ready. She said two weeks and she would call us when it was ready. The two weeks came and went with no call but since she said they would be easy fixes, and we were three months out from the wedding I wasn't worried. HOWEVER After two months of radio silence, I called to check up on the dress and tried for multiple days to get a hold of Joan as she did not have a voicemail box to leave a message. I was finally able to get a hold of her and schedule an appointment for myself and my mother to come in for a "final fitting" that weekend. We get there and Joan says she was swamped with prom season so time got away from her - I get it. I, too, have let projects get away from me. As we're talking though, we have to remind her about our due date (two weeks at this point), what my dress looks like, and what we're doing to it. Now, is it my fault for letting it go that long with no contact? Yes absolutely, and I recognize that. However, we had to find my dress in her workspace which was exactly where we had left it, and no work had been done on it. For three months. I tried it on again and for a third time told Joan what we wanted done and when we can expect it to be ready. She says we can come by later that week to pick it up. My mom and I leave and are just sort of shocked at the whole thing. I had read reviews online that a few people had posted saying that after voicing concerns with Joan she gave them back their items and told them to go somewhere else. I was terrified of voicing anything negative in fear that this would happen as I did not have time to find a new seamstress. My mom agreed to come back with me to the next appointment as moral support (and to be my backbone if needed). So we go back, there are minor adjustments that need to be done. No big deal, Joan says, and she can get them done by this weekend. My mom confirms that she will have everything completed as it is now a week until the wedding. Joan says that 100% we can pick it up completed that weekend. The weekend comes, I pick up the dress after a try on and everything is perfect. She said she had to essentially take the whole dress apart and put it back together and rang up a $350 price tag. I didn't say anything except "thank you" and booked it out of there. I want to make clear that I do not have an issue with the final version of my dress. It looks perfect and I love it; however, the journey of making it there was such a major issue with undue stress. I understand I am partially to blame for that, yes, but having no record of clientele and what their requests were, nor a listed due date I think really exacerbated the entire situation.

Absolutely adore Tang! She is masterful and has so much talent…read more She taught my matron of honor and I so many tips and skills to putting on and taking off my dress, as well as how to walk up and down stairs and bustle. At the first appt for alterations, she let me tell her what I thought needed to be fixed first before offering her suggestions. She did this bc something she might see as an issue might not even bother me. Overall, it was a good experience and I'm very happy with the outcome. She made me feel like a queen in my dress and I cannot wait to show it off on my wedding day. *Parking: There's plenty of parking out front, and more in the lot across front the store. It is a very busy lot, and sometimes drivers from the Starbucks drive through gets stuck trying to leave. Id recommend that you park closer to the Bonchon. **Will post pictures of before and after, but AFTER my wedding in May! Can't have the fiance seeing any pics anywhere hehe PS the elderly man at the register was the kindest gentlemen ever!

Im a bride to be, and I'm the kind of woman that hates trying on clothes. My maid of honor set up an appointment anyway. We arrived to Tangs with my mother, daughter, and my good friend Tiffany (who put tangs on my radar). Lisa was to be my stylist. When Lisa saw Tiffany, she gave her a huge hug! As she had helped her years before to find her perfect dress. I knew I was in good hands Lisa asked alot of questions, but nailed what I wanted instantly. She really listens. The first dress she picked out for me, is the one we all fell in love with. I tried on other dresses, but her first pick....WAS THE ONE! I asked her if it would be alright to have some time to reflect before I commit to the dress. She was so cool about that and didn't pressure me. Later on, I decided... you know what. That's my dress! My maid of Honor called Lisa. Lisa said she'll hang out at the shop until we arrive. And she did. An unexpected personal touch, was that earlier in the day...I mentioned that I love Metallica. She remembered that, and a we walked in to close the sale at 6:53, when they close at 7pm. She had Metallica on the radio for me. She let me try on the dress once more for the photo opp and was so awesome about it. I highly recommend tangs. Love you Lisa, thank you for your time and your patience. I couldn't have found my dress without you!
