I have finally mustered up the courage to warn others about my experience. Tran ruined my favorite pair of jeans that cost me over $300. My biggest regret is not sending them to get professionally altered, I should've known better but i didnt know just how badly a simple request could go. I didn't want to wait the shipping time so I chose to support local and I hate to write a bad review of a mom n pop shop like this so I even went back to tell them I was unhappy with their work and all they said was "sorry. Go elsewhere then" with an angry cold glare and blamed me for requesting the original hem. Little did they know I already went to another alteration specialist and they told me the bottom was sewn too tight, that's why it looks so ugly and crumpled. Not to mention when I was still sitting there clearly upset, Mr. Tran kept asking me about my race. I'm not here to make small talk buddy I'm here to see if these people know how to make it right and the answer is no. I believe this was not a mistake, just a lack of skill. I wish someone had warned me out of the kindness of their heart not to trust Tran with expensive clothing that I can't afford to replace if ruined. I have attached pictures of the exact same pair of jeans below with the same alteration requested shortened and you can see the difference between Tran's work and a professional's. And this is after I even ironed them to try to make it better but clearly the damage is done. When I wear it, it looks permanently crumpled. The bottom of the wide legged jean was the most unique and beautiful part of the pant and now it is hideous and butchered. I am completely and utterly heartbroken. I had to save up to buy these jeans and now they are permanently ruined. Heed the 1 star reviews. You were warned. read more

Tran needs wayyyyy more than 5 stars!!! She is a wizard. I don't know how she does it, but she has completely changed my life with her work. As a woman over 6'2'', it's always been a struggle to find dresses/pants long enough for me. She has altered numerous pairs of pants to fit my long legs, AND she added 5'' to my wedding dress!!! I used to try on hundreds of items before finding something that kind of fits, but now I find things right away because I know Tran can make it fit me perfectly. She can do it all. I brought my most favorite winter coat to be fixed (a seem had ripped in one of the shoulders) and was so worried it could not be repaired. Tran and his wife looked at the coat and said "Yes! We can fix this!" Not only was it fixed to perfection (like new!) I couldn't believe how affordable that kind of repair was! The repair was complete in less than 2 business days! I would recommend this local shop for all of your needed clothing repairs. The owners (a husband/wife team) were super friendly and very nice. I'll be going here for any future needs. read more

I took my wedding dress into Tran for alterations and wow! She did absolutely amazing my dress was a size 20 and she resized it to a 12! And it cost me less than $300! I am not a Sewer nor do I have patience for small mending --therefore finding a place that does the following is important to me: (1) Standard Pricing (2) Set Schedule of Delivery (3) High Quality Alterations (4) Business Environment with a Dressing Room and Reasonable Side Parking. Tran is very professional and once she gets to know your likes in clothing will add a little extra to your style at no extra cost. This is my second visit to spruce up my extra-curricular wardrobe where we must wear a certain color either political or sorority with pieces that are stylish. Looking through online patterns is easy, but finding a good tailor and high quality fabric in out Capitol City was challenging -- even something as simple as a fashionable belt buckle was a task. Of course, when you only have one fabric store it makes assembling all your notions even more difficult-- let's face it we are no Dallas or K.C. Yet, the relief comes when Tran can put together a dress, jacket, belt, skirt, and pants using Vogue Pattern with a specified timeline that relieves some of my stress. You must check this place out--I have been to at least two other alteration places in the city, and I am not a fan of bartering on prices once the product is complete--with Tran -- this does not happen--her prices are as quoted.
