Great place for a cheap price - think of it was "all inclusive camping" to take away all the stress of packing. Prior to arriving at the site, shantel always kept in contact w us/ making sure off our arrival so she can have the place cleaned and ready. Upon reaching the site- shantel came within 30m to greet us and update me what's to expect. The site was spotless and ready to be occupied. I have no complaints and hope to continue to pass good referral to everyone I encounter. I do have suggestions for the rookies campers if shantel can provide for them 1) bug/mosquito lamp to help zap the night flyers 2) pointers and instructions on how to make a bond fire 3) some rope ladders for the side tree tent so kids can climb up 4) some simple hammocks beside the center ones Overall, can beat this place for the price we paid Thanks Troy read more

We just had the most amazing experience at the Blue Jay Nest. Our host, Shantel, was so thorough with the information we needed to prepare for our trip. She was quick to respond to any questions. The site and bell tents were gorgeous and comfortable and Shantel provided more than expected amenities where you literally only need food and ice (and your old clothes of course ) The bathrooms and showers were clean and accessible. The tree tent was such a neat experience for an overnight sleep and felt safe and secure even on a windy night. Shantel greeted us upon arrival to give a thorough tour of anything we needed to know and you could feel her passion for making sure her guests had the best experience at their site. First time Glamping and we had a ball. Shantel was awesome! She was so helpful and the campsite was great. They provide everything you need. Literally bring food, games, clothes, flashlight a few lanterns and your set. Unfortunately our trip was during the "no campfire or propane" restriction but we still made the most of it. The beds are comfy and we were plenty warm. The tents were bug and critter free. I would highly recommend alter experiences if you like to camp but don't want to pitch a tent and set up all the gear. I'm not a camping person and I would do this again, especially when the days and nights are a little cooler and the campfires are allowed. read more

There is glamping and there is glamping! Alter experiences is one of my favs. They have thought of EVERYTHING from the kitchen spices you would need to the hand towels. The bed in the canvas tent was so comfortable. The kids loved the tree tents. The area is so beautiful. The hiking, horseback riding and so many stars at night! We are camping people but sometimes it's just nice to roll up with just your food and drinks and just enjoy making memories. We had an amazing time glamping for the first time at Blue Jay site. Shantel is a wonderful host and made sure we had everything we need. The only things to be aware of is that no one in our party felt comfortable sleeping in the tree tent all night but there was plenty of room to set up a small tent on the site. Also, there is a campsite pretty close so you may have some neighbors but it didn't bother us too much since there is so much space at blue jay to spread out. The bathrooms and showers were very clean and close by. We had 6 adults and 6 teenagers with us and everyone had so much fun. Shantel was available via text the entire time and kept us supplied with propane and sleeping bags. We would definitely come back in the future! read more

They had a separate tent set for the kitchen area, fire pit area, tree tent and hammock everything you usually pack when you go camping all your essential was there. Glamping with Alter Experiences was amazing! It was my boyfriend's first time camping and I'm so glad that we chose Alter Experiences for his first camping experience. We stayed in their Deer Peak site and literally everything was provided for you and Shantel was so hospitable. We initially planned on getting there around 3:30pm but because of L.A. traffic, we didn't arrive until closer to 7pm. When I texted Shantel, she was super understanding and arrived there within 15 minutes. She gave us a tour of the campsite and explained everything that we needed to know. She also gave some great recommendations for an easy hiking trail and places to try in Julian! Whenever we needed something, like more water or a knife to borrow, she was a quick text away. The accommodations were incredibly comfortable and the campsite was immaculate. My friends were raving about the tentsile tent and our dog enjoyed himself being one with nature. Couldn't have asked for a better glamping company to work with! We will definitely be back to try their other campsites. read more

Booked the Eagle Nest site for my birthday weekend. It was amazing! I especially booked this site because of the amount of tree tents, it was a first experience for all of us and it was so fun! The tents were very comfortable to sleep in. We had 3 tree tents and one bell tent with two double beds. Plenty of space for everyone. Everything was provided, we only took our food and clothes and Shantel was very accommodating and encouraged us to call if we needed anything. I've always loved the beauty of Mount Laguna and this site did not disappoint. The kids a had blast bouncing from the hammock into the triple tree tent. We made beautiful memories that will last a lifetime. We will be using Alter Experiences again. read more

This was one of the coolest camping experiences I've ever had! When I first heard about these guys, I loved the concept, but thought glamping was overkill for me considering I've roughed it 1000 times before without an issue. I can't tell you how nice it was to get there and not have to set anything up! The location in Mount Laguna was spectacularly beautiful, the suspended tents and loungers were so unique, and the entire operation was top notch. Spent a few days decompressing and enjoying everything the area had to offer. Alter experiences provided EVERYTHING... tents, sleeping bags, a full kitchen with cookware, fire pit, lanterns, the list goes on! When it was time to leave, there was no tear down, we just got in our car and left :) Highly recommend these guys, we will definitely be back. Just came back from a long weekend at Blue Jay Nest in the Mt. Laguna campground. What a great trip! This was our first time with Alter Experiences, and we couldn't be more pleased. The campsite was well thought out and had everything we needed. What a luxury to be able to park the car, unload food and clothes, and get straight to relaxing. Shantel came by to greet us shortly after we arrived and showed us around. She was able to spot a couple of items missing (extra propane and an item of kitchen equipment), which were promptly delivered to us within a half hour. We had a lovely time and will be using Alter Experiences again in the future! read more

Shantel is amazing host. This is our first glamping experience with five different families joining for our first group glamping trip. I had called Shantel many times for questions, direction and activities recommendation and she always answer the phone and address my question and concern right away. At the very last minute about one week prior the arrival date, we have to cancel one campsite due to Covid illness. Shantel was very understanding and cancel one of the camp site for us and did not charge us any deposit or penalty for the cancellation. Glamping experience was fun and they take care of everything. The picnic table was cover by beautiful table cloth. All the kitchen cooking equipment & Utensil were provided. Each Bell tent were nice and clean with extra blankets and bath towels stored inside your tent. We love everything about the experience. Will definitely book with them again. Absolutely recommend this amazing glamping experience!! This was even better than we expected / even better than the lovely website photos! The best part is that they have thought of and provided everything! Come with your clothes, food, ice if you want ice, and they provide the rest (from can openers, to hot chocolate). The bell tents set up beautifully with solar string lights at the entrance, a comfortable bed, extra blankets, and cute sitting areas inside, plus even a box of tissues! The tree tent was super fun and the kids rotated sleeping in it. Bring cash to purchase bundles of wood from the camp host on site ($7 per bundle) and a roll of quarters for your showers, and you are all set! We enjoyed beautiful hikes from our site, and had brought a tarp to lay out at night to look at the incredible display of stars. Shantel was responsive and checked in each day to ensure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend this glamping experience!!! We stayed at Blue Jay Nest (which is likely named for the many jays, which are also your alarm clock, lol) and it was perfect!! The overall campground was also super well kept and clean and friendly camp rangers and camp hosts available around the property. DEFINITELY do this glamping!!! My kids are already asking when we can go back. THIS is the RELAXING way to camp, with no fuss, and all the enjoyment!! read more

My family (4) and another family (4) shared the Lion's Den. Each family had our own tent but we also had the tree tents for the kids which had sleeping beds inside. The site had everything we needed! You literally just need to bring your own clothes and food. They even provide towels, shampoo, conditioner! Plenty of things to do for the kids and we hiked the trails. Cooking food is easy and plenty of storage for dry goods. The tents are roomy and comfortable. There was a portable heater in the tent to keep us warm at night. I liked the solar lighting all over the camp during night time. Restrooms were nearby and kept clean all the time. The shower area were clean and the flushable toilets were in the same area. It also has outlets for using my hair dryer. We felt safe the entire time and the staff were great. Always just a text away and they respond quickly. We had an issue with the heater and I reached out to Shantel around 11pm and she still answered and helped us out! A great glamping experience and we will definitely do it again! read more
