The NICU had mostly wonderful loving souls, really after weeks of visiting NICU shift after shift, only 1 of over a dozen nurses we met didn't seem to be sincere. The rest were just angels on earth caring for at risk babies. The food actually wasn't as bad as usual at hospitals you just have to navigate carefully LOL. All in all, I felt the maternity ward and NICU was warm and friendly. It was easy to park and go in and out of the hospital. Now the bill. It's exorbitant. I think 2 weeks of NICU was $479,000 LMAO I mean they have to just make this stuff up. Like there's a bowl of really horrible numbers and that's the one that got picked for me. I cannot fathom how someone without insurance can be faced with such a bill. But I digress about our healthcare system. Dr Greer and Dr Kaiser took great care of me and were super understanding and empathetic. Cathy in the NICU was a superstar human being. The hospital is beautiful and I felt cared for.

To be fair, I didn't come here for anything huge or elaborate, but just a really pleasant experience overall. One of the great things about going to Kaiser is that you can get a lot of different care under the same roof or at the same location. Parking was pretty easy to find in the garage as well.

Today, I went to the laboratory for a blood draw. I specifically requested a butterfly needle because I have very small veins and have difficulty with blood draws. Several laboratory staff members in the past have told me that I can request a butterfly needle for this reason. Unfortunately, the staff member who drew my blood today was extremely forceful when inserting the needle. She poked me so hard that I had to hold myself back from screaming because of the pain. I understand that drawing blood from small veins can sometimes be challenging. However, there is no reason for a patient to be treated so roughly. I expected the procedure to be performed carefully, gently, and professionally. This experience was very upsetting and disappointing. As a Kaiser member of more than 15 years, I have never made a complaint like this before. I believe this staff member needs to improve her technique and, especially, the way she handles patients during blood draws. Patients should not have to endure unnecessary pain because a procedure is performed without enough care or gentleness. I am submitting this complaint because I hope Kaiser will take this matter seriously and provide appropriate feedback or training to prevent another patient from having the same experience

She insisted we try them even after explaining they could fall out the next day. She said she would get samples so I could try them while avoiding the cost. The office sent me a 500$ bill after Dr. Yom ensured me that my eye plugs would be no charge. When I called the billing office months ago, they informed me that since the doctor said I would not be charged, to disregard the bill. Fast forward to now, they are trying to take me to collections. Today was Graduation day!!! I couldn't be anymore happy…read morewith the results and service! From the first day we went for consultation all our questions were asked. As I'm sure other parents we were super nervous and didn't know what to expect but they made us feel super comfortable and let us know we weren't alone. My daughter that's is 10 months old was diagnosed with Torticollis, therefore she needed the doc band and physical therapy. She did one band which was 4 months. She completed physical therapy and now Doc band. Thank you to all the nurses and doctor were are truly happy with the results definitely recommend.

I've had to return multiple times for adjustments and skin tests, and now my child's skin is peeling. When I called for an urgent appointment, they had no availability. For the amount of money we're spending, there should be far more care, urgency, and organization. It's frustrating to feel like there's no priority placed on your child's well-being. At this point, I'm seriously questioning whether this whole helmet process is necessary or just a money grab.
