When I called Peter said he would be right over... Great! But he failed to say it was a holiday and he was going to charge me $85 for his 10 minute visit. So he came out and did the work and then sent the bill for $420.00...Crazy... I called to review the bill as it was excessive for 2 switches to be repaired and discuss the first visit charge.... I was told he would not credit the first visit as it was a holiday ( which I didn't know) and he had to source parts ... what? what electrician sources parts for a 3 way switch and the funny thing is he didn't bill for any parts was just wired wrong?? in his over $400 bill... Then he misspelled the label for dining room and I now need to redo them... that probably cost $100 of my bill. There are so many nice, considerate contractors doing business in Whistler over the last 12 years I am so bummed that I called Sparks!

To get them to show up, you have to be way more flexible than a normal working person can be. I contacted them and Sam told me they could come on a Friday at 7:30 a.m., which doesn't work because I have a family to get out of the house, eating breakfast under the fixture I need replaced (we're normal Vancouver people, we don't have tons of space and a room/table I could relocate breakfast to). Then he said they could come later on Friday morning, but couldn't commit to a time. I countered with Thursday afternoon, which he said would work better, and he agreed to a time. I arranged my work schedule to be there. On Wednesday morning, I got a call at work from their installer, asking if I could be home that day to do the install (uh, no, not on short notice). As agreed, I stayed home on Thursday for the Thursday afternoon appointment, moved everything around to be ready for them, and then the installer called me an hour in advance to tell me he couldn't make it and wanted to reschedule for the next week. If you have a stay-at-home partner / roommate or you work from home or have a contractor or someone handling your house, Hall Electrical might be great. But if you can't be at home on a weekday at the drop of a hat, don't bother with them.
