Well, on January 18th at around 12:00 am, my wife and kids and I had just returned home from a family member's house. I had forgotten that my vehicle, which had recently been serviced, didn't have a house key on the key ring. So, I started looking for all the 24-hour locksmiths in the Smithfield area. Surprisingly, he was the only one who picked up the phone, even though every other business claimed to offer 24-hour service.
When he finally arrived 20 minutes later, he tried the front door for about 20 minutes but couldn't get in because the locks were upside down. Then, he tried the side garage door, which is when the fun began. He tried to pick the deadbolt and lock for about 30 minutes, but he couldn't get it because the locks were also upside down.
I explained that I was renting the property and hadn't installed these locks. By this time, it was almost 1:00 am. He then suggested drilling the deadbolt lock. I was exhausted from holding my phone as a flashlight and standing out in the cold. After drilling for 10 minutes, he finally drilled the deadbolt and used bags on the door.
I got into the garage and had one more door to get into the kitchen. I couldn't pick that one either after trying for 10 minutes, but I was able to after removing the trim and using bags on the door. By this time, it was around 2:00 am.
In conclusion, he charged me $150 and said he would come back on Sunday to replace the deadbolt he had drilled, but he never came. I called him on Monday and he said he had forgotten about Sunday and would come on Monday evening, January 19th, but he never came. Then, he said he was coming on Tuesday morning, but I hadn't read his messages and was already halfway to my work site. I asked if he could come in the evening, but I could see he had read my message, but he didn't respond.
