I am 67 years old and he had a smooth way of adding things to a job quoted at 4,600.00 and adding things on without itemizing costs, taking my checks and cashing quickly. Before I could figure out I was being taken for a ride it was to late, he got the price of the work up to 9,200.00 dollars, a total of three checks. This is how he did it! After quoting me the 4,ooo for 12 shrubs and 600.00 for pruning some trees on the first meeting I agreed and I gave him a down payment check for 2,500.00. A few days latter he arrived to do the job. He pruned much less than what he originally described he was going to prune the day of the quote. After pruning he brought out the 12 shrubs to ware I wanted them and then told me he brought 3 extra shrubs and would I like to add them to the job along with the plants he described as being amazing! I agreed and instead of a 2100.00 balance check I give him 3200.00 for the additional shrubs and plants thinking that would be it. The next day he arrived with the plants and loam but he only brought enough plants for 12 shrubs. That's when he asked for an additional check for 3500.00 after saying he would be back with the other remaining plants for the three other shrubs that he said he forgot about. After looking at what I was spending this much money for, after giving him that last check. I was going to try to stop that last check but it was to late, he already very quickly cashed the last two checks. I should have known better but was under a lot of stress at that time like everyone else with the Pandemic, and a crazy neighbor cutting down trees on her own next to my yard, the main reason why I wanted this landscaping job done. When he arrived for the last time to plant the rest of the additional plants he forgot, with no extra loam, the reason why the plants root system were exposed, I asked him for an itemized account for the job, shrubs, plants, loam, labor etc. he would keep changing the subject to justify the cost for going to the plant nursery in his truck etc., I gave up and he never did give me what I was asking for, I would only be wasting my time to continue! He had a big smile on his face as he was getting back into his truck, that I hope I can hopefully someday soon forget! Stay away from this guy, whom I trusted at first, Ron owner of A & R Landscaping Worcester for sure. I hope this helps others. Renato and his crew came out to do a small job, installing a new paver walkway and properly edging…read morea pre-existing walkway that was installed incorrectly by the original builder. While discussing the job with Renato he noted that the original builder had also installed one paver that was a different color than the others and offered to fix it while they re-did the edging (great!). Towards the end of the job I went out to take a look and noticed that the crew had incorrectly installed the edging pavers in an intermediate section of the walkway. Once informed they remediated the issue (again, great!). However, it appears as though when they did so, they accidentally reinstalled the mis-colored paver. Unfortunately I didn't notice it until the next day because they had to soak the entire walkway with water in order for the crushed stone to set, and so all of the pavers were wet and dark. Mistakes happen, I get it. But the reason for the 2 star review isn't that the mistake was made - it was how it was how Renato handled it (or didn't). Over the ensuing three weeks I texted Renato on three different occasions about the issue, asking him to have a crew return and resolve it. He didn't respond to any of my messages. Unfortunately my experience was similar to one of the other reviewers - the quality of the work was good, but the service provided when confronted with a quality issue was nonexistent.

Then stopped taking my calls. Ive called from other phones to get through and he blames the poor quality of his work on the manufacturer of the sand his company uses. Jose came out and gave us an estimate that included burying the downspouts to avoid water dumping on the new patio. He was prompt, communicative, and gave us an estimate in a few days. We scheduled them to come the following week. He and his brother showed up right on time, and promptly began digging things out. I was impressed with what they were able to do in a single day. Because rain was in the forecast, they were flexible on coming back a second day to screed the final paver base. It rained particularly hard and it became clear that there was an issue somewhere. When they came back a few days later, I pointed it out to Jose and he promptly dug out the spot and ensured it was properly filled in and compacted. They finished the job and cleaned up. After the first day, they left the site relatively clean (considering they knew they'd be back). Overall, I would 100% recommend these guys and would love to have them back to do additional projects at our home. They were responsible, competitively priced, and wanted to ensure things were done right.
