We made some hot dogs over the fire and did a little walking around. The pool looks nice (we always saw a lot of people swimming). The staff was always nice and kind. They really seem dedicated to having a nice campground. We were really impressed by the camp kitchen. We didn't bring anything we needed to cook, (besides the hot dogs) so we didn't end up using it but it looked nice/useful. If we happen to find ourselves in this area again we will definitely use it! It even had a microwave! The bathrooms were always clean and had warm water for showers. The cabin itself was nice. We rented a 6 person cabin. It was roomy with a double bed and 2 sets of bunk beds. The beds had the classic cabin style mattresses, but not too bad. It had a little heater attached, which was nice when it got a little chilly in the evening. Overall a very pleasant and nice experience! (A personal favorite: the front porch swing on the cabin: such a cute touch)

When we arrived, not only was Steve there to show us to our spot, but several others currently staying. In the park were helpful in spotting some close calls and helping get us positioned just right in our spot. For our rig size, it was a close call and tight fit getting in, but once in our spot it was perfect. They got us in site 11 no problem. Is it an impersonal overly polished concrete and blacktop parking lot style RV Park with perfect level geometry/symmetry everywhere you look? No, but it was one of the best and most relaxing locations we've been so far. It's in the middle of a game preserve, so there are numerous deer routinely wandering around the area. Ahhh nature! As far as quiet goes, evenings were like a cemetery (in a good way). Just lots of peace and quiet to enjoy your surroundings. And the sunsets on the dock & beach! They are about as idyllic as you can get for lakefront property. We spent time swimming, kayaking, and just siting our on the dock enjoying the sunshine. I can speak for the internet/WiFi as we had great T-Mobile reception and so were only on our own hotspots the entire time. 60Mbit down / 8.9Mbit up. Perfectly suited to my purposes.

Wendy and her husband represent what true hospitality is!!! If every campground had them, you would arrive and leave smiling everywhere you went. We arrived later than expected and didn't pull in until about 8:30pm (the office closed at 5pm) but immediately Wendy & her husband were there to get us checked in and personally escort us to our campsite!!! Now THAT is service. You can tell when you walk into the bathroom, showers, or laundry room that they work hard to keep everything maintained and in tip top shape. These are the cleanest "smaller" campground facilities I've ever experienced! There are MANY site options, and they're well maintained and the gravel is visibly raked and leveled out. Wow! It appears they have power & water, but no sewer hookups. I suppose you'd have to go off site to dump your tank. That would be inconvenient for us. The lodge itself was quite nice. Our bartender was very friendly & we enjoyed chatting with him for awhile. Drinks were reasonable & the place was clean as a whistle. If we lived closer we'd be proud to be member of this lodge.

Spirit Lake is one of those beautiful places tucked away as a hidden gem. If you need a RV spot this is certainly a go to. We are sure to be back.

I don't know if the Wifey would agree with that, but she did say the bathrooms were large, and set up nicely for anyone who has ADA needs, which we do not. No sewer hookups to be seen, but we never use our black water line, so. Cool thing is they let non-members stay here, too, and for $60 bucks (members $40), that's a good deal; but, they offer an option to party at the lounge for a small cover charge, and that can be done on the online reservation system. Smart as all get out in my opinion for getting new membership. We stayed on a Friday night, and it was a bee hive of activity. Located in a very quiet suburban area, with some light industrial and the airport right by it. Man, you could do worse in this area for a lot more dinero. Great job, Eagles...

Very clean Forest Service campground in a sort of ponderosa pine grove, right on the side of the…read moreBanks-Lowman highway. The highway isn't too heavily traveled, so the sites are fairly quiet, with spectacular views of the surrounding mountains. Tables, BBQ grills and fire rings...plus very clean vault toilets and running water. Being in view of the highway, the sites don't feel very secluded or private -- but that is more than made up for by the fact that directly across the highway is a little all-natural sandy-bottomed hot spring, right on the banks of the Payette River. As far as I know you can soak any time, day or night, in a little rectangular pool that used to be part of a bathhouse or something back in the day. We walked over from our campsite after dark, and hiked down for a very relaxing soak. This place is not hardcore, remote or rugged....but I still give it 5 stars because it's clean, beautiful and EASY! And sometimes, that's what you want! I would definitely stay here again...but if you don't want to camp out, you can use the springs for free by parking in the little day use lot at the trailhead, just across from the campground.
