I like the variety we get with our beef boxes, and everything is vacuum sealed, labeled and marked with weight, too. Take a look at the pics! This allows for easy storage and identification. I've always kept a list of what I have for a freezer "inventory" of sorts, and this makes it easy and convenient. Their bacon & sausage & Berkshire pork boxes are BOMB, too. I am used to eating prime steaks, so let me say this is very different. But I guess you might expect it to be. The beef flavor is definitely there, it's a little tougher though. But they're eating only grass,. One thing I wish they packaged it a little better the box fell apart on my way up. Would I buy again? Might try grass fed grain finished next time so it's a little more tender, but I got 100 pounds and am only through 2. So a long way to go. Love to keep it local! Had some hesitation due to freezer space and uncertainty of what the cut assortment would be, but finally had an opportunity due to an unfortunate freezer unplugging accident and thaw. A 40lb box takes up about 2sq feet which was easy to accommodate. We got the Berkshire pork/grass fed beef combo. The meats are vacuum sealed in fairly reasonable portions (ground meats and steaks ranged from under 1lb to 2lbs, pork chops in pairs, larger steaks individually), the roasts obviously larger. The ground beef is leaner and more finely ground than I prefer, but would be perfect for gyros or koftas and has a wonderful flavor. The country sausage has a nice savory seasoning and the bacon is very thick cut and flavorful. We received a few cuts that I'm not familiar with, which I anticipated and welcomed to get me to try new recipes. If you're looking for good grassfed steaks look elsewhere. The meat is tough, bland and with a quarter portion, they gave you mostly sirloin and stew meat... it almostly felt like the farmer ate all the good cuts and sold only the poorest of meats. I thought to buy local to support local, but you're better off ordering from Oregon Valley farms where their grass fed meats are quality you can taste. read more

This business is incredible. We searched for ages to find local farm raised sustainable meat in the area and we finally found them! We've purchased their meats for a couple of years and have always been highly satisfied. We recently began ordering their raw dog food which has been a game changer for our Golden Doodle. Dogs need a raw diet to assist digestion, coat and overall health but it's hard to find. The pet loaf is so fresh, makes us feel like we're feeding our dog fresh steak every day, he LOVES it! Alpine Ranch makes its so easy with their delivery options and the prices are great for what you get. I have been feeding raw for my dogs for over 25years. We just moved from the SF bay area to Reno, and finding high quality meat for our 2 small dogs has always been a challenge. In SF area, we were part of SF raw..but cannot find anything like that here. In searching the internet for grass fed beef I came across Alpine ranch, and almost spat out my coffee with excitement when I saw their pet loaf. OMG..what a perfectly designed blend, as good as what I can find at SF raw in the Bay Area. I rotate proteins for them,and this is perfect for the meals where I rotate in beef. I have a home freeze dryer, and am setting up 12 lbs right now to place in my FD. I encourage anyone who is interested in superior health for their fur family to reach out to their vet for diet formula suggestions, and include high quality meats like what Alpine ranch offers. I personally do not do a BARF diet. Our dogs have organic veggies I make up including lots of supplements(10% of their diet by weight), and have the endorsement/guidance of veterinarians. I purchased beef and pork from Alpine Ranch. I discovered this company via FB which I no longer subscribe to, although Im happy I discovered this wonderful business before I signed off. I've been buying grassfed/free range meat for the past 5 years. I've had experience which 5 different suppliers at this point on both coasts. Alpine Ranch's beef is so flavorful and tender. The pork is also nicely done. The reason I took the time to write this review is because of the bacon. This is some of the best bacon I've ever tasted. it reminds me of bacon that I ate growing up as a kid in the 70s/80s. I'd describe it as a mixture of salt pork for texture and Oscar Meyer for flavor. The perfect cut for a BLT. The kicker is that I live in Las Vegas and fortunately for us southerners, Alpine Ranch delivers in our neck of the woods. This is a local ranch that is loyal and honest to providing the best quality beef and pork without hormones and humanely raised. They are not Foster Farms and may run out of stock at times of certain items because they don't over produce with the risk of loosing quality of product. I appreciate the wholesome quality. The customer service has been outstanding as they have been willing to meet me locally for delivery. Both the beef and pork are outstanding and I love the quality of meat I get without having to raise the animals on my property. I have not yet tried the lamb. They also sell EXCELLENT sauces and starters. Some of my favorites are: fig or pomegranate balsamic vinegar, sweet pepper pasta sauce, and chili starter... all of which make excellent gifts. read more

We've really enjoyed Alpine Ranch ground beef (we buy the 40 lb boxes), pork sausage and prepared sauces. I love getting the mini meat boxes they offer now. I usually go with ground beef because we use that the most in our house. It's the tastiest ground beef I have ever had, and it's healthier too! The bacon, breakfast sausage, and bratwursts are amazing as well! I never trust ground meat from the store, and you can taste the difference with the Alpine Ranch meat. We purchased $1500 worth of beef from them based on some fake "likes" from friends on Facebook. The only portion of the meat we bought that is edible is the ground beef. Everything else is dry and tough. Even cooking it in the crockpot doesn't seem to work. They must be getting their beef from dairy farms. The remainder of the beef that we have is going to a soup kitchen. I don't think I've ever been this disappointed in anything I've ever purchased. read more

Disappointed. Purchased a beef and pork combo 20 lbs of each. 14 of the 20 lbs of pork came as a huge leg roast. Not very useful for a family of 2. The bacon and breakfast sausage was good. Won't buy from Alpine Ranch again. read more

Oh Alpine Ranch you completely fill our multiple freezers. When I am unsure of what to make for breakfast, lunch and dinner I go to my giant freezer full of meats and instantly am inspired. Beautiful, grass fed, beef awaits from seared on the BBQ, to slow roasts in the oven, to breakfast steak and eggs without Alpine Ranch Meats we would be a sad hungry family. Alpine Meats pricing is extremely competitive for grass fed beef, the deliveries and unloading are personal(we love Christie and Dusty) and helpful, and consistent quality has created our source of protein. I'm looking forward to trying the Pork shares next! If you want a way to save money with grass fed beef this is the way to go!
