Had duct/vents/big trunks all cleaned and sanitizer put in, a total costing $599 done on 11/16. The…read moreheat was working when the tech turned it off but when all done could not get it to turn back on. He actually did not notify me but I noticed it when he thermostat showed an error. Said it was perhaps some communication problem and to give it time. Gave me his number and to contact him if didn't turn on. Did not turn on, contacted him and he came back around 4:30 pm. After messing with it a bit (he opened the furnace and messed with circuit board but admitted that he didn't know anything about it). Around 6 pm he gave up and said will have to contact my HVAC but that THEY would cover all costs and will be billed directly. He contacted him and the person came after hours that evening, said not sure how but the circuit board was blown and will need to be replaced. Given the time it would be next day after getting the part. They would contact KC AIR to get it approved. Mind you I have a 5 MONTH baby at home and its 20s outside. Next day, replacement was scheduleD for 3 pm, which ended up costing $779! The HVAC contacted KC AIR multiple times on 11/17 to get service cost approved but this is when the merry-go-round started. Since then it has been 6 days and I have yet to talk to the manager or owner about the issue. I have called and talked to front desk 10+ times and each time getting a different answer to dodge talking to the responsible part for approving the charges/OWNER/JOHN. I have left multiple voicemails for him or manager ASHLEY to call back but in vain. Here are the excuses used: 11/17 11 am: "The person who approves the cost is not in yet" 11/17 2 pm: "The person just went on break. he was vacation so has a lot to catch up on" 11/17 3:15 pm: "The person is gone for the day. I heard the manager and him talk about it but I am just the person scheduling appointment" 11/18 10 am: "The person should be in any time." 11/18 12 pm: "The person is gone for the weekend, your best bet is calling back Monday" 11/21 11 am: "He is not in yet but should be here soon" 11/21 3 pm: "he is off for the holidays" I asked to talk to the manager who after 3 minutes of hold is apparently in a meeting. Took message to call me before end of day. NO CALL received. THIS IS THE HEIGHT OF UNPROFESSIONALISM AND INDECENCY! 6 DAYS AND I HAVE NOT TALKED TO ANYONE WHO CAN ADDRESS THE ISSUE. THEY MIGHT BE GOOD AT CLEANING AS APPARENT FROM THE REVIEWS BUT IF THEY CAUSE ANY DAMAGE DON'T EXPECT THEM TO TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY. YOU WILL PAY OUT OF POCKET MUCH MORE THAN THE EXPENSIVE SERVICES THEY OFFER.

They are very knowledgeable and friendly. I had someone come out to trouble shoot my AC unit. Turns…read moreout the compressor went out and the whole unit needs to be replaced. Which is understandable. The problem I ran into with them is that I felt that I was being oversold on a couple things. The technician informed me that I need to put in a new capacitor for the furnace. I said go ahead because I was trusting his guidance. Well, turns out that since the AC unit went out, it is best to replace not only that, but the cooling coil AND put in an updated furnace to boot. This of course was told to me after he put in the capacitor. Which was too late to say no. Heartland charged me $96 for a part if you Google it costs $5 - $6 on average! And literally takes zero effort to connect it. Very frustrating. Then when I had the sales person come out for the official bid along with the owner, both were very professional and nice guys. However, again... I felt I was getting over sold. One thing that stood out in my mind was when the owner, Jim (I believe is his name) showed me that one of the air ducts was not making a 'hollow tin' sound when you press on it. That it was a sign it was rusted out from the inside and needed to be replaced. Granted I needed some duct work as some were definitely rusted. However, that particular air duct he was referring to was just insulated on the inside because it takes air away from the furnace. The hollow duct is only for return air ducts. Which makes total since. Thinking about this I feel that for someone that has been in the business for so long should have known that. Maybe not...but I just felt I was getting over sold again to drive the bid up even higher. As for the bid itself. I will say they were the most expensive by at least 20%. In short. Nice, friendly people and knowledgeable. However, they are very expensive and gave me the impression that I was being oversold. Starting with that $96 capacitor. Needless to say, I did not go with them.
