I don't know where to start... we all ordered ribs. The guys ordered half slabs and couldn't finish. I ordered the 3 rib plate and couldn't finish. The food was the best I've had in a while!!!! I previously gave them 5 stars. This time I could only give them 2 stars. Those 2 stars are for customer service alone. The cashier and women who bagged my food were great and personable. The food however was another story. The catfish was undercooked and extremely salty. I prayed all night that I didn't get sick from eating it. The Mac and Cheese was bland and noodles were very over cooked and mushy. The collard greens looked great but one bite felt like I took a swig of salt straight from the shaker. My daughter's ribs were hit or miss. Some pieces were tough and dried out. Some pieces were "okay", but flavorless. We literally tossed both whole trays in the garbage. The only thing she ate were the fries and the Texas toast. The only thing I ate was the hush puppies and Texas toast. I had a side of cheese grits too and tossed it as well. It too was flavorless. $44+ down the drain. I hate to give bad reviews, but I have to be honest. read more

My husband, family and myself love this restaurant. Our only complaint is it's hard to get through to place a pick up order. The food is outstanding & the service is very personal & friendly! Once you go a few times they remember you! Our favorite is the catfish. It's excellent. As well as the wings. We've ordered turkeys from them a couple of times at Thanksgiving and you can't beat the taste or the price! You really can't do the turkey yourself for much less than they charge. It smelt so good, I had to cruise in and see what this place was all about. This place is a small operation, but they bring big flavor. I ordered the half chicken dinner with macaroni and cheese, and okra. The okra was awesome and was covered with a delightful seasoning. Mac and Cheese was on point and the CHICKEN, phenomenal!! Portions are huge. I'm eating my left overs for dinner and will most likely have some for tomorrow. Lastly, the customer service I received today was top notch. First time trying this place. I wanted the amazing looking smoked chicken but it wasn't ready yet when I walked in at 11:05. So I ordered the pulled pork, coleslaw & macaroni and cheese. The portions were very generous but my opinions on the food were mixed. I'm a big BBQ fan and the pulled pork didn't do it for me. I had to spit out big chunks of fat and the flavor just wasn't there. There wasn't much in the way of bark or smokey flavor. I'm sure it was reheated. Luckily the BBQ sauce was great so I just drowned it. The slaw was obviously prepackaged and high on the relish. Not the kind of slaw I prefer. That brings me to the macaroni and cheese. It was wonderful and definitely worth going back for. So what does my foodie self say about it? Would I go back? The answer is yes I want to go back and try other things. I wouldn't order the pulled pork or slaw again but I definitely want to try other things along with that excellent Mac&Cheese. So was there that special quality that makes this a 5 star eatery and says I want to tell all my friends about it? Not really. I rarely give praise to BBQ spots because most don't do it right. This place is the best I've tasted, hands down. The only place that taste as good as my in-laws secret recipe. And they all agreed. Checked the reviews before visiting and I gave it a try. The restaurant is not the easiest to locate or see from the road. When I tried calling to verify the actual location, I was put in hold for over 4 minutes, hung up and kept driving until I located it. I ordered the 3-piece Whiting and it was cold. The fries were not good and the hush puppies were burnt and not edible. The only HOT item was the Collards. They were still hot by the time I got home and had eaten other items first. They were missing something but you could stomach them. Reminded me of the need to visit the Market and cook for my family and I. Customer Service was friendly and nice.
