Got quotes from a number of glass makers in the area ranging from somewhat reasonable to overly ridiculous. Ben Franklin won my business, having been recommended by some peers at work, and by offering a very fair price for the work and delivery. I dropped off a $50 deposit and they started work. Turnaround took about a week for a 1/4 inch table top with a flat polished edge. They called to arrange delivery (at which I paid the balance) and shortly thereafter our table was looking shiny and new. Note: the default they offer you is seamed edge (not sharp, sanded down), which is appropriate for window or auto glass, but not for a table. Anything with exposed edges like tables need a flat or beveled edge, which costs extra and takes more time to order/make. This is not communicated to you - they assume you know what you are ordering so you have to do your research and ask specifically for what you want. One minor criticism is that they were kind of hard to find; no website, online ordering system, etc. If it wasn't for word of mouth I wouldn't have known to give them a try. Also, it would have been convenient to use credit card for payment and/or deposit, but they only take cash or check (though they do accept personal checks, which is a plus). Nevertheless, the glass looks great and fits perfectly on the table. No more coasters or placemats! I will definitely do business with them again for my glass needs.

Then I finally decided to remove it and take to Eighteen Glass Co to see if it could be repaired. Best thing I've done in a long time. They took the broken frame and fixed it within a day and for an affordable $50. Eighteen Glass also replaced mirrored glass on a dining room table I managed to break several years back. Was called a couple days later with advice that supplier was backed up, and it would be a month before they received the replacement panels. They immediately offered to return deposit, but we wanted to continue with them Extremely easy to deal with, honest, and highly professional. Said estimated arrival of glass was 10/1, and set a tentative appointment for 10/2. Called on 10/1 to confirm glass was delivered, confirmed a starting time for work on 10/2. Crew leader called and advised running 10 minutes late, and showed up within 10 minutes of appointed time. Two men completed the work in about 1.5 hours. Friendly, neat, professional, and correctly wearing masks. Paid balance w/ credit card and received a mailed receipt two days later. Totally painless, very satisfied with entire experience. Would not hesitate to use them again
