But the real reason why I am making the effort to leave a review is to let everyone know that their new hygienist, a lady named London, is not only very sweet and personable, but she has the gentlest, most relaxed touch of any hygienist who has ever worked on me!! I am 65 years old and used to be a periodontal surgical assistant, so I feel I have a lot of basis for comparison. She is a great addition to the team! If you are hesitating to go to the dentist I would like to reassure you that Downtown Dental in Provo is a great place to go. They have seen me through extractions, root canals, crowns and bridges with never a problem, and now with London added to Dr. Gibson's team they have raised the bar again!

First let me say that I always do a lot of research prior to selecting any medical professional or…read moremedical treatment. I had already gone to a well respected general dentist for some tooth pain as a result of an old filling falling out. The dentist walked into the room, took a look at my x rays and "wrote me a prescription" for a root canal. He also explained that because of the depth of the decay and location of the tooth that I would have to see a specialist to have the root canal done. Not only was I fearful, here I walked in hoping to get a cavity filled, I also felt like the ONLY option available to me in order to get pain relief was the root canal. That is when I started to look around for any other option. I have a delicate immune system after suffering from several severe infections and I knew that sometimes root canals can exacerbate immune problems. I was so pleased when my research led me to biomimetic dentistry and then Dr, Criddle. He was so warm and easy to talk with and put all of my fears at ease while discussing treatment options with me. I had a very deep and compromised tooth where decay was almost touching the nerve on a back molar. He discussed the option of attempting to salvage the natural tooth and leave the nerve intact by disinfecting the erosion and depositing a type of composite that excretes fluoride and minerals directly to the tooth. He was frank and honest about my 50/50 shot of this working. All of which would be credited toward the root canal if it didn't take. He was gentle and kind during his work. I slight swelling for several days after the procedure which I took regular old ibuprofen for but so far all of the pain is gone and I have instant relief in my tooth. I am so grateful that I found this dentist.I saved the pain and potential negative side effects long term of a root canal and it was extremely affordable. The entire staff at Dr. Criddle's followed up with me daily for several days after my procedure, checking on me and making sure that the tooth was behaving promisingly. I felt very cared for. Dr. Criddle's honest and fair principles for practicing dentistry are one of the reasons I gravitated toward him and I would encourage you to look at his website and fully understand his unique approach to his practice. I was very pleased with the service and care that I received from Greenwood dental. Upon entering the office, my wife and I were greeted by Renee, who was extremely helpful and friendly. (Trust me, this goes a long way toward putting patients at ease). We filled out a minimal amount of necessary paperwork and were whisked back to private rooms (very nice) for our cleanings, x-rays and examinations. The hygienist that helped me was very professional and personable. She did her job well and at an efficient speed. The TV in the ceiling was a nice touch for patient distraction, although headphones for sound would have been nice. The office is extremely well coordinated with appointments, and no sooner was the cleaning completed than Dr. Brandon Greenwood entered and introduced himself. Rather than getting right down to business, he took the time to get to know me and tell me a little about the office and the other dentists working there. He also let me know that the office does emergency appointments and that his staff are available whenever they are needed. Awesome! His fun personality was a delight, and a nice personal touch to his care. He was very good at explaining what he saw on my x-rays and letting me know the best way to care for my teeth in their current state. (no cavities!, yes!). A great dentist, whom I will be glad to return to. Lastly, the office gives out "prizes" for not having any cavities (Yes, even to the adults), so I got a t-shirt for my good dental hygiene efforts. I'm sure this practice keeps the kids happy. I didn't need any more invasive procedures done, so if I do I'll update the review later with my thoughts on those. I just got a front tooth chip repair here and I am very disappointed in my experience. I now have a…read moretooth that looks bad and will bug me my whole life unless I go back to have them re-do it, which I'm either going to do or go somewhere else to have done. I had Dr. Dale, who was so impatient! After the initial shaping there was a large chunk of fake tooth scratching me on the back that he couldn't see, and after I had to have him try to file it off 5+ times to no avail he declared "I'd hate to move your furniture!" And by the end, he had totally misshapen the tooth so it doesn't look at all like my other one, is crooked, has an uneven line, and is sharp on one edge where it touches my tongue. But because it was already crooked and too small compared to my other, and he wouldn't stop commenting on how picky I was, I just stopped asking him to fix it. I hoped he was right and I was just being picky but I don't even want to smile any more that's how much it bothers me still. He would never include this tooth in a portfolio of his best work, and that speaks volumes to the kind of dentist that he is. Shouldn't you want your patients to be impressed instead of depressed with your work? Especially a front tooth! Two stars because their office themselves were very accommodating and nice, somehow when I called to schedule they had scheduled me at a different office? But when I showed up at the office I had called, they were able to squeeze me in despite "not having" an appointment.

The staff was friendly, gentle cleanings, and honest dentist. Dr Pratt is very knowledgeable and does amazing work. My husband had a mouth full of fillings and even a root canal. Took time off work and show up on time for my appointment, only for the receptionist to tell me she couldn't verify my insurance and is unable to treat me. Drove all the way home and called my insurance and confirmed my dental insurance was active. They even looked up the call history and confirmed the receptionist called minutes before my appointment and only went through the automated system instead of talking to a live representative. Highly disappointed that I was not notified prior to my appointment, wasted my time and was given inaccurate information.

If you want to get more fillings than you actually need, then have those fillings botched so you…read moreend up needing crowns, and then have those crowns pop off continuously, come to this practice! That was my husband's experience here. We finally stopped going when I started having tooth pain from one of their fillings, and they brought a little model in to show me how a filling can end up being too deep in the tooth so the tooth splits, and how I needed a crown. Afterwards when I was left in the booth to think about the options they had given me, I realized that I could overhear the doctor giving the person in the next booth the same exact explanation, and I remembered that this is the reason my husband was given for needing crowns. I've never had this type of damage happen from any other fillings I've had from other dentists, so it's astounding that it happens so often with this practice. My next dentist just shaved the filling down to match my bite better, and it's been fine. He was also able to reapply my husband's crowns in a way that kept them in place for a couple of years, now. I was reminded of our experience here by a recent conversation, and judging by reviews the miss-handling is ongoing so I thought I'd add my piece to save the teeth of others. To be fair, all of the staff and doctors are very nice when you're there, but that doesn't change a lifetime of damaged teeth.
