I had not been able to find that combination until I started going to Dr. Pitts' practice. His team is well-trained, his methods are state-of-the-art, and his results are the best I've experienced. If you have questions about insurance, his staff are happy to answer them all thoroughly. He is flexible in making options for interacting with insurance benefits available. He is not the cheapest dentist in the area, nor is he the most expensive--he is reasonably priced for the quality that he delivers. He makes it pleasant for children, teens and others to get their braces or other dentistry done without stress. For those of us who have had bad results in the past, he was able to fix what had been botched and didn't make me feel stupid for coming in with a problem someone else had caused. He fixed it better than before and that's priceless! I highly recommend him and his team.

The only real drawback is that they only really stabilize conditions and prescribe medication, and then refer you to other dentists for further treatment during regular hours. Alan had placed restaurant orders with the restaurant I worked at and one day called, yelling saying that we messed up everything single time. I kindly spent a while looking at his past orders and seeing what we could do and it turned out he had misunderstood the ordering system and was not ordering correctly. I spent time away from a rush explaining to him so that he understood and the call ended nicely. Unfortunately a few weeks later, while I wasnt in the restaurant one of my coworkers accidentally did mess up the bread Alan had on his order. Alan called the restaurant irate and so the lead who was only 19 called because they were newer and knew I had spoken to him prior. I called Alan outside my working hours, on my day off and took accountability for the mistake and was trying to make it right for him when Alan then started saying we owe him more because we messed up his order prior. I reminded him that those prior mess ups were due to him ordering incorrectly and not on us and that we had already discussed this. He then tried to claim that I was calling him a liar, which I never did. He then used his business, yes this business to threaten and say that they spend $600 a month at this restaurant and wont order there unless we did exactly what he asked, which was unreasonable because we messed up only one of his orders. I spent 7 years in service and I have never encountered someone who cared for the general public/ service industry with such disrespect and entitlement as Alan did. I believe its important for those who go to this business to know because I would not want to entrust thousands of dollars of dental/orthodontist care with someone who clearly shows they do not care about how they treat members of the general public and members of local businesses. I came in with massive jaw and bite issues, horrible migraines, and really crooked difficult bottom teeth. My dentist suggested 2 different orthodontists and I met with both of them. The one wouldn't even take me as a patient. Said he couldn't help me and sent me somewhere to have some intense tmj procedures done. Graf on the other hand, checked me out thoroughly and immediately came up with a plan to improve my quality of life as well as appearance of my teeth. 2 years later my daughter has already had her braces on and off here with exceptional results (I find myself staring at that beautiful smile often!). I will be getting mine off in a little over a month.. my teeth look amazing already! Migraines are now a rare occurrence for me and my jaw almost never cracks!!! CASH PAYING / NO INSURANCE - PLENTY OF BETTER CHOICES ELSEWHERE!…read more We WERE patients of this practice the past couple of years and had good service for the times we went (2X/year). However, if you do not have insurance (unemployed, self-employed) you will significantly save by taking your business elsewhere. TMFD provides NO discount to cash paying customers. You will pay the FULL amount of the rate they "bill" insurance companies, even though TMFD collects only a portion from insurance companies due to the contracted rates for said services. Example: I was interested in just a cleaning. TMFD wanted to charge me $112 for the cleaning. I had a cleaning earlier this year (Jan '24) and the rate they billed insurance for just the cleaning was $97. What insurance actually paid them was $45! Yet now, TMFD wants to charge me $112. I called around and found more sympathetic dentists to my current situation who not only had a less expensive rate to begin with, but offered a discount to cash paying customers (because they know they're going to collect more from a cash paying customer they offer a 10-25% discount than they would billing insurance). Once we have insurance again, no problem. Just amazed that TMFD wasn't willing to work with us and would so easily loose two loyal customers! BTW, their in-house plan wasn't that great of an option, once you run the numbers.

But I couldn't have chosen a better office to go to. I love how great the staff is with my daughter. Their prices were reasonable to what we had been quoted at her prior orthodontist so that made me feel good. We've been a patient for a year now and she's getting her braces off in January. Dr. Maxfield really takes time to explain what he's doing to the patients and the parents. The office is also very clean, and I watch them clean often while I'm at my daughter's appointment. My daughter received an Aloha shirt, water bottle wax and flossers at her first appointment welcoming her to the office. Dr. Maxfield himself even called us after her first appointment just to check in on her. They also offer Aloha bucks for a good visit, no broken brackets, and for wearing your Aloha Orthodontics shirt to your appointment. 5 bucks if you meet the criteria. Plus you can get more bucks if you get a good write off from your dentist at your cleaning appointments. You can turn these bucks in for gift cards to local establishments or for the infamous dole whip they serve. I think there's a candy reward at the end of your brace wearing days.
