the alpenblick bar, located in the rock-bottom & charming part of town called "kleinbasel" hosts an audience from the age of 20 to 60 -most of em students & workers, popping in after work or uni for a stange of ueli or two or couple more... [stange = 0.3ltr-glass, ueli = local brewery].
shut up the the little devil in your stomach crying "food!!" by chippin him snacks such as nachos with dips or garlic bread slices (should it unfold to be rather a satan - send him over to valentino's next door, they got plenty of food) or just ignore him and try one of the numerous drinks from the cocktail menu as placebo (you're in basel, home of the pharma industry).
the local soccer club's supporters congregate here to follow their team's away matches, the swiss national team's games as well as champions league broadcasts.
my no1 spot (not only in klein-)basel, but on either on the Rhine's shores, not only due to the alpenblick's open, observing, and friendly staff, welcoming both locals as well as travellers with conversation & selected sounds - the latter at times served live and (semi-) acoustic! read more
