Fantastic coffee which is of course the starting point. We popped in for coffee before climbing Kosciuszko and it looked so good we came back the next morning for breakfast. I enjoyed the pancakes with bacon, bananas and syrup - they were delicious! It has a cozy atmosphere and the latest papers are on hand for reading. Only issue was how busy it was which resulted in a lengthy wait for coffee both days. But it was Easter so we forgave them. A must do if you're in thredbo!

All in our group were happy with our selections which were reasonably large and cooked as expected, I'm usually hesitant to order a steak in a pub but after a day of physical activity I was very keen for the protein top-up and was pleasantly surprised that the steak was a near perfectly cooked medium-rare, no easy feat when so busy and not something I usually expect given the circumstances.

For all you non-Aussies, it's totally normal for oily mushrooms and beans to be served at breakfast. Actually, the super high level of oil is why I rated the place a 3 start. It's aiiiight. Nothing special. Totally get the hashbrowns though! They fry them til they're super crispy and delicious. The servers will also bring you coffee if you order from them. They won't tell you though, so make sure to flag a person down if you want more than the black coffee they have in the buffet line.

So this place has a couple of massive advantages. Firstly there is no competition - it is the only…read morerestaurant at the top of the thredbo chairlift. Then it has such a keen audience - most people will have finished their climb to Kosciuszko and this will be the first source of food/beer that they will see so they are going to be keen. Finally it can lay claim that everything about it and everything on its menu can be said to be the highest in Australia - a pretty fun thing to be able to claim! So in spite of this it is still a good place! I had an excellent skinny latte (highest skinny latte in Australia!) and then some delicious home made scones with jam and cream. And the views are awesome. A great spot post summit!
