As a long time resident of Warwick i have gone to every spa/skin care locations from Warwick, Goshen (stay away) into New Jersey. First and foremost, the time and attention that is given to explain and review options (in my case dealing with Melasma, wrinkles, sagging skin) is so refreshing. Never rushed or any high pressure sales like other spas. The owner, Patricia is knowledgeable, stays current, and has state of the art equipment. Once I discovered Alora- my search ended. I have had very bad experiences so I am very hesitant. I ask a lot of questions, probably to the point of being annoying - and every single question is answered at Alora. I look at reviews as they tell a lot about a place. I know there will always be people who are not pleased 100% of the time...but 100% of the time I have received excellent and professional care from Alora. I highly recommend. read more

It took me a long time to post this. I went in January 2021 for Acleara Acne treatment. It was supposed to cost $175. Somehow Patricia tried to tell me that I had keratosis and not acne. She didn't want to listen to me when I told her to be careful. I have an autoimmune disease that dries out my skin, but I knew I had acne rosecea too. Something didn't feel right about the laser. After the treatment she charged me $375 and insisted that I buy the cream that was sold at the spa even though I told her I have very sensitive skin and was not interested. She was extremely pushy and I felt obligated. She said my skin would start peeling over the next few days but when I got home it did not look right. Hours later it looked burned. The next day it looks like a second-degree burn. As it turns out it was. I showed my plastic surgeon and he said that was a laser on the wrong setting. I got a deep burn and it never cleared until May. Unfortunately, it never healed properly either. Recently, it started to peel again and I am devastated. I have permanent scarring on my face because of Patricia! DO NOT go to this place ever!!!!!!! read more

Friendly staff but Patricia is unprofessional and rude. Bought my wife groupon deals for a spa day. She booked 2 treatments in advanced and it was confirmed. On the day of appointment they told her she can only have one Groupon treatment per customer and the you have to wait 6mo to use the other Groupon (by that time the Groupon will expire)They said "anyway we don't have time for you as we have a non Groupon customer here who's next (even though my wife was there before her AND had that time slot booked for her second treatment.) One Groupon per customer and then wait 6mo for any other Groupon which will expire if purchased at the same time. None of this disclosed on Groupon. Patricia's business ethics are shady and she turns her Groupon deal into a scheme. Would not recommend. read more

I went to this spa yesterday and I didn't get a chance to write a review right away but might I say the fact that I'm taking the time out to do this shows how much of an impression this spa left on me. I walked in and met with Patty who was going to be taking care of me. I told her how I had a slight insecurity about post acne scars I had gotten throughout the years. She recommended a laser treatment. She worked with me on how many sessions I should do. I went in with one scar in particular that was very rough and almost impossible to break through even with MD (microdermabrasion) and she broke through the thick scar tissue to get the scar to seem less apparent. She took her time on me and was so patient. I'm a very nervous person when it comes to matters of pain and discomfort. She had this super strong numbing cream so I could barely feel anything. The results were phenomenal and I'm so happy and so grateful I met Patty. Acne scars can make you sad, like really sad. Not only does my scar look so much better alongside the rest of the ones I have on my face... my skin felt so much better after she put this cream on my face post laser treatment. I purchased this enzyme cream that's also supposed to help get rid of dead skin to help new skin regenerate as well. It's important to also take care of the skin after treatments. I am going back for two more sessions because of course with tough acne scars you can't go once and expect your skin to completely bounce back right away. I HAVE to say that after one visit the results were insane and I'm going to recommend this spa to EVERYONE I know. I'm very very grateful. I had 2 different treatments Saturday and was thrilled with the service I received from both Patricia and Brianna. Patricia is both knowledgeable and expert at all the services offered and I trust her completely. Brianna is gentle, kind and assisted Patricia during my time there. It was Patricia who consulted with me regarding my wants and expectations and she delivered on all counts. What a wonderful experience. For those of you complaining about Groupon - do it on the Groupon website/yelp pages, not here. It is not fault of Alora! These services can be expensive because of what is involved and the people who apply the treatments/services are experts and schooled. As the saying goes, "you get what you pay for." Patricia, the laser tech, is super rude and has absolutely no regard for her clients or her work staff. She makes no small talk when you come into your appointment. Each time you go she does a random pattern of laser she does not box off or draw any type of grid on your body she just goes in whatever pattern she feels like, oh and without gloves too. She also seems to decide what is considered "half leg" based on her mood whether that includes your ankles or your lower knees will be something you find out day of! HIGHLY recommend you go elsewhere because not only will you get better results but likely better service too. read more

I just had the best facial I've ever had! Marina is one of the best esthetician I've ever had work on my skin. She is professional, understands skin and yet made me feel comfortable. I strongly recommend you DO NOT let Patricia touch your face because obviously she has no idea what she is doing. She has ruined my facial appearance and my self-esteem. If I can save anybody else the agony and experience then it is worth posting. Patricia "microbladed" my eyebrows 3 years ago. There is no shape, no lines, and she went too deep. The pictures are a progression from after the 1st session to what they look like now 3 years later. I went to a Phibrows Certified Microblading Artist to try to get them corrected. I was told that they were tattooed too deep so they turned my skin red, which will not fade, and I have scarring. So I now have to go spend thousands of dollars and several painful treatments to get laser removal to try to lighten it so that it can hopefully then be corrected. Obviously nobody would want to leave their face with these eyebrows on them, so I am left with no choice. read more

This place has the most unprofessional service I ever received. Patricia and her receptionist Rebecca are very argumentative and unprofessional. I paid for a laser treatment and it didn't work. Patricia also burned me and had the audacity to say she can't see the burns. Patricia also quotes you one price and charges you for another stating she told you . This was money and time wasted . Instead of driving all the way down to Fort Lee, I wanted to try some place closer to home. The place looked clean however my daughter's lash extensions is beyond disappointing. There was no discussion of new her lash extensions, the technician just proceeded. I thought nothing of it because they removed her old lash extension which would of shown the look and the length she wanted. But at the end when I saw the before and after shot, I couldn't really see a difference. Nothing like what she has been getting. To top off this disappointment, I only found out in the car how much pain my daughter was in during the entire procedure. She was flinched and mumbled it hurt numerous times throughout the 2 hour procedure but was ignored and told not to move. It's been over three days and it still hurts her. My daughter has been getting lash extensions for about 6 months (every 2 weeks down in Jersey) and this was the only time she felt pain. This place looked promising in the beginning but a disappoint at the end. I rather pay the money on gas and tolls for her not to be in pain and disappointed. read more

Be very careful, my husband purchased Four iLipo Treatments at Alora Spa for me and when I got there, I had to purchase more in order for this treatment to work. It did not state this on the Groupon website. After thinking about what just happen to me at my first treatment, I texted with owner expressing my concerns and the financial hardship and she would not do anything. It is misleading and just a way to get you in the door to make you purchase more. I was only in there a few minutes and she also try to sell me on the weight loss program too. I was very disappointed and for one treatment I had to pay an additional $75 and if I wanted to do the other three, if time I would have to pay an additional $75. read more

Very convenient location just across border in NY so very easy commute from NW Jersey. Glad I redeemed a gift card here for a massage. Excellent service and quality for the cost. I returned another time and Patricia, the owner consulted with me on some skin treatments. Very smart on skin care and therapy. BE CAREFUL, I purchased a package from groupon for six laser hair removal treatments. Best I could figure from the groupon site was that the face was consider a medium area. Well I was wrong apparently and ended up spending a whole lot more money then I would have if I had gotten the next package up. That is my bad; however they didn't tell me until after I walked out of my second treatment that I had gotten the wrong package. They really should have made sure I had the right package before I even had my first treatment. I don't know if groupon would have let me change the package or not, but I could have tried. Their website and groupon site DOES NOT say what they consider small, medium, and large areas for laser removal. So I suggest you email them before buying a package. I'd say call but if you email at least you have something in writing in case they try to say other wise when you get there. Also they make you tip, it's part of the groupon agreement or something, it's kinda wierd to tip for laser hair removal. Normally you only do that for massages and facials. If you look up google reviews you will see that I am not the only person that has had a problem like this. If they want to stay on Groupon they need to update their details and specify what THEY consider small, med, and large areas to be. Dissatisfied with customer service and results of laser hair removal. The owner, Patricia, was rude and not a person who should face with customers. I purchased Groupon and was informed it would not cover the medium area for 6 visits. This was a gift to a friend. After 6 visits the hair on her legs is not diminished near as much as mine. I had mine done at Orange Dermatology in Monroe and my hair is completely gone. My friends is not and the cost is more at Alora. Go to Orange dermatology where the people are nice and the hair removal works. Not only that Alora expected tips to the person who did the treatments. read more

Ive been to several spas in and out of the county and have never been treated with such disrespect half way thru the laser procedure i had to stop and ask her if there was a problem,only to be further irritated, I then thought maybe she was treating me this way because i was using a groupon since i couldn't figure out what her problem was. This was the worst spa experience ever ! The moment I walked in they tried to sell me a laser facial upgrade for $200.00. The facial says "European" which clearly states the type of service on their website and in their brochure. My facial was just an hour long of different cleaners and a mask. When I asked about extractions they said they are not included in groupon facials! They never disclosed that extractions are not included anywhere in the fine print ! It was a horrible experience they also require a mandatory 20 percent tip and taxes. This place is a scam not at all what I expected . read more

I live in Warwick so naturally the convenience was a big part of my choice in using them I went in for laser hair removal on my back. The two girls working there said it would take five to six visits to remove most of the hair. May need a touch up once a year. Told me it was seventeen hundred for the service. I agreed and went forward. Completed my six sessions and after only a few months much of the hair was still there. Most actually. I called to discuss. The technician who was handling me was no longer working there. The girl who answered the phone said come in and see the owner and they will do a touch up. I went in and the owner told me I should have paid Twenty nine hundred and what her girls told me was wrong. So I was given miss-information by her employees and it is my fault?? She did nothing to make good on what I was promised and seemed really to careless. Now I have to find someone else to do the job right. My best recommendation is to not use this spa....they don't care about you and don't do quality work. Stay away. Wish I was smart enough to read a review before I chose this spa. read more

Here's the problem......I purchased from Groupon for $99 a "1-hour Couple's massage(swedish or deep tissue) with aromatherapy, champagne and strawberries." We show up for the appointment and are escorted to the waiting room to fill out the standard form as I've seen in every Spa. The 2nd page was less familiar. We're already aware, as we've read the groupon, that we will be responsible for tax and gratuity based on the non-discounted full price of $250. This was already presumed. That 2nd page was solely for groupon purchasers stating such rules again. However, we had to initial a few areas and sign at the bottom that we are required to tip $50(20%), no exceptions! This was not conveyed on the groupon of the required %. Normally not a big deal as we normally tip 20%. When they escort me separately to the room and I notice only 1 bed I ask the masseuse where the other bed is, since we purchased a couple's massage, I was told "the beds are really heavy and difficult to move", and they don't have a room for two. A little perturbed now. The massage is concluded, without strawberries or champagne for either. Needless to say, we are both ticked off when it comes time to tip the required $50, and $17 tax on a non-couple's massage without strawberries or champagne. I then noticed at the front desk that the regular price for a 1-hour massage for 1 person is $85, today's special pricing was $60 for the same. How did they come up with $250 for couple's massage that they don't offer. If I just decided to go today on a whim with my girlfriend, I would have payed $60x2=$120, tax=$9.50, and gratuity of 20%=$24, totaling $153.50. I spent groupon of $99, tax=$17, and required gratuity of $50, totaling $166. Question: Where's my deal? read more

This Company was one of the worst spa's I have ever dealt with. I purchased a Groupon for 2 massages and was forced to give tip of almost 20.00 dollars on both up front (40.00 dollars). Then they canceled our second massage appointment and never rescheduled with us. They kept saying they were booked or had no massage therapist at the time. I asked for my money back very nicely and was told they can't do that. The girl I spoke with told me over the phone it wasn't her problem. She said her boss may be in sometime in the next week. I will never do business here again and I recommend to anyone thinking about it to look into a more customer friendly place. I hate when companies put themselves on groupon and take peoples money and then treat them bad because they were a groupon customer. I hope this review loses Alora Spa the money I lost.
