GOD THIS FOOD IS AMAZING!!! Staff was very nice and understanding and explained some menu items to me since this was my first time trying Hawaiian food! FINALLY got to try this place. This place has been on my list of places to try for like 3 years and it took me this long to come around. When me and my friend arrived around 6pm, it was completely empty, but people starting coming in at like 6:30pm. You totally get this Hawaiian fusion vibe in the restaurant. Their menu is huge with so many choices. I ordered the mini chicken katsu plate with spam katsu musubi. My friend got the loco moco plate with spam katsu musubi as well. I honestly recommend getting the mini plates because even the mini was soo much food. I couldn't finish it. The difference between the regular plates and the mini is that the mini plate has 1 scoop of rice and macaroni salad instead of 2. You get so much chicken katsu with it. The katsu was the crispiest katsu I've ever had. So crispy it kind of hurt my gums while eating (but maybe this is because I had a dentist appointment earlier in the day). The macaroni salad? DELICIOUS. I wish I bought a side order just to bring home with me. The spam musubi are HUGE. I paid exactly $16 for what I bought and I don't regret it! Fantastic experience and delicious food. The menu is extensive and if you haven't been to Hawaii (like me) make sure to ask questions. We got the hurricane fries, pork katsu curry, spam loco moco and spam katsu musubi. Hurricane fries were delicious and a decently sized portion. The sauce X furikake combo straight slapped. Pork katsu was delicious and honestly PLENTIFUL. I mean we're talking like 2/3 meals no joke. I ordered a side of curry and gravy. Curry was on the spicier end and tbh was my favorite. The gravy was also very good, tangy but on the sweeter side. Wish they could do half half on the katsu but it's served on the side. Loco Moco was good and looked delicious. Didn't try it personally so can't say a lot more ha. The drinks were fantastic. I mean truly delicious in flavor but not overwhelmingly sweet like most sodas. Also as my friend said, the spam is "literally a block of rice" so don't order it as a side thinking it'll be tiny . I was seriously impressed with this place. As someone with family from Hawaii who has had his fair share of Hawaiian grinds, this place absolutely nailed it. It was such a fun and refreshing surprise trying the food here and being impressed with how delicious everything was. Food: I had the loco moco and the barbecue mix plate, which consisted of Korean barbecue short ribs, grilled chicken, and teriyaki beef. I also had the spam musubi. Everything was sensational! Not every Hawaiian restaurant is going to nail a loco moco. For those unfamiliar, loco moco is a local Hawaiian dish consisting of a bed of white rice topped with a hamburger patty, a sunny side up egg, with brown gravy drenching everything. Pure bliss. Atmosphere: I was visiting during Covid times, so seating was not available. But the decor was Hawaiian themed and very cute. Tasteful, and not tacky. Service: Prompt and professional. I have no complaints here. Parking: I came for takeout, so I didn't need to pay for parking, but there is ample metered street parking along where the restaurant is. I would absolutely come back here. Aloha Eats, my go-to place when I'm craving Hawaiian food. Whenever I come here, I always get the Chicken Katsu and BBQ Beef combo with some Spam Musubi as well if my appetite is big! Everything is cooked to perfection all the time. I gotta say the plates are big and I always have leftovers. They do have a mini plate option but I always get the normal size so I can get my new favorite dishes. Only downside of coming in this area is finding parking, but the food here is totally worth it. I found Aloha Eats to be good but not great, as I had hoped. I ordered the mini chicken katsu with curry. At first the meal was good but after 10 minutes the curry became lumpy and lifeless. The flavor was still good but the flavor began to wane. The spam musubi was tasty and looked beautiful as you will see in the photo, but for some reason the rice wasn't as sticky as it should've been. As a result, when I had a bite of the musubi there were pieces of rice falling onto my plate and in my hand. Recall when you eat sushi the rice stays intact and the spam musubi should've acted in the same manner based on the composition. My friend ordered the ribs and said they lacked flavor. I, too, agreed after trying a sample. Aloha Eats does a good job of providing good sized portions. And if it is your first time visiting I suggest trying one of the mini selections. I was missing a taste from home and decided to look up Hawaiian food, several options popped up but I chose to come to Aloha Eats because the decor reminded me of an old school drive-in. The restaurant had been around for years and the reviews were pretty good. Service was excellent. We were served by Isabel whose father and brother started the restaurant and she has continued the tradition. They are coming up on their 20th reunion. Prices are on par for Chicago. I paid a little more than I would've liked for a loco moco but the buggah was ono! We also tried mochiko chicken and combination plate lunch. For 3 plates and 2 Aloha Maid drinks I paid a little over $50. Lots more options to try and I will be back. Just thankful to have a place that serves good Hawaiian local plate lunch. read more

There are a lot on the menu but you can never go wrong with a combo plate with a double scoop of macaroni salad on the side. It's perfect for a pick-up order since there is no in-door dining due to COVID and the parking around the area is limited. Was very excited to try this place given the reviews and my love for Hawaiian food. The best Hawaiian spots (besides Hawaii of course) have got to be in California and Aloha Wagon in Chicago near Pilsen is close to it. This place on the other hand was far from the mark. The place is small cute spot but the food was just not very good. The chicken katsu curry was extremely salty and flavorless. The curry itself was not what I expected as it tasted like bland gravy with a pound of salt and no curry flavor. The chicken katsu had thick breading on it with thin pieces of chicken, although we were given a decent portion. The mac salad was okay, not great not bad. For $20 a plate, I did expect better food. They also charge for katsu sauce if you order the chicken curry which is almost $1.50 I believe. It's not a spot I'd come back to most likely. The lady was nice who ordered for us although the service could've been a little better given we did give a generous tip for a takeout order and they still wanted to charge us for a small sauce. read more

Aloha Eats. Is a hidden gem. It has a tropical Hawaii vibe as you enter and they are known to have good katsu. I got the Katsu box with PL and we were both so full from that one order. The portions are huge and they make their food really authentic to a basic Hawaiian place. The service is normal as you just order and pick up the food. They seem really busy during the lunch and dinner hours so I would come early or later to not wait in line. This is perfect to come with your family or friends or even your date.
