We just walked in the hotel, at 11:31 p.m., needing a king room for the night, which our Bonvoy app showed available. Upon entering and notifying the clerk that I was going to book the king through the app, so we could accrue the points, he informed me that "all of the available king rooms are reserved for management". Keep in mind, they show available, in the app. Needless to say, we walked in the Holiday Inn Express, three blocks away, and accommodated our king request, and gave us a cheaper rate. Aloft hotels are always a bit odd. It's like they're saying "welcome, get comfortable-but not TOO comfortable ". And I've never stayed at an Aloft that had anyplace to put your shower toiletries in the shower. This one is no different. There are many, many good food options nearby. And the staff are very nice. read more

I really enjoy this hotel. Good location, very walkable if you want good local food. Staff is very friendly. Their breakfast egg and chorizo wrap is also delicious. Gym is located in the basement and is very spacious. To the right of the lobby area you have games plus the bar. Rooms are the standard "Aloft" style but are kept clean. I have been staying at this hotel for five days. I had to change my travel schedule suddenly and went down to check out of the hotel at 10:50 am. While checking out from the hotel, I was told I was going to be charged for an additional night at the hotel because I didn't notify the hotel the night before of the change. The manager Heidi refused to come out and talk to me. There was no manager on duty who was available to speak with me. The response from the hotel was that there was nothing they could do about it. Don't expect any normal Marriott property courtesies from this hotel. I was going to be in El Paso for another 45 days this year. They lost this customer over a one night stay, in which I didn't sleep at the hotel. After 30 minutes of waiting no manager would even talk to me. Update: I changed my post from 1 to 3 stars. When I left the hotel I left my name and phone number for a manager to call me. I didn't get a call but when I checked my bill the following day I see that they removed the night I didn't sleep at the hotel from my bill. So I would like to thank the management for the adjustment. read more

She gave him a little ball to play with and we had a restful night on Avery beautiful and comfortable room. The coffee is great valet parking guys are so kind and helpful Shout out to Charles and the guy in the morning we did not get his name and the kind manager who checked us out in the morning. YOU CANNOT CONTROL THE FAN IN YOUR ROOM. it cycles on and off. Man I love historic old buildings. I also hate old historic building windows. So with the air situation and the thin windows to make for a loud night. This is a nice aloft. Smaller than average rooms but who cares. It's a rack. It was clean, smelled fresh, and typical of my other alofts. There is street parking, but you have to pay for it from 8a to 6p. Not expensive but they do apparently ticket people. I didn't see anyone out but doesn't mean the meter maids aren't there stalking. Loitering. Preying. My bed needs replacing. Right where you lay there's a divot from everyone else sleeping there. No sweat I'll head to the other side, uh oh. Same divot. Has a large gym, but not a lot of equipment. They could add a few things and have plenty of room to move around. But if you're stuck and need a quick workout, this will square you right away. Everyone has been kind and pleasant. They know the area and made some good food reqs. Would I stay here again? Maybe. I greatly dislike the windows and fact the owners are so damn cheap they won't let you control your constant or cycling fan. Shower water pressure is good. But they don't have a soap bar stand. Seems like an odd thing of not have. Or maybe it's odd I travel with my own soap? *Shrugs* I might stay here again. We shall see. read more

Aloft was so accommodating for our group of about 30. The staff was efficient, helpful and courteous. The rooms were great and the outdoor area was a perfect place to gather our group with locals. Everything was pleasant. Check in and out was easy. The room was sufficient for what we needed. The beds were comfortable. Although I brought my own soap and toiletries they also had them available in the shower. The fridge was not plugged in and didn't work so we couldn't cool our water. You are within walking distance to everything downtown and since we were there for a football game we just took the free trolly. My biggest gripe was paying for parking. I feel like parking should be free with room. Other than that our stay was pleasant. read more

Loved this hotel. Passing through El Paso and needed a hotel. I'm a Marriott fan, so went with the Aloft. Checking in was easy. Parked my truck in front while I brought my bags up with their nice little cart. The building was a renovated old small high rise. Room was spacious and well updated. The gym was spacious and complete. The staff was extremely friendly. Parking has three options the first is on the street, which is free at night, but you have to move by 8 am or feed the meter. They have a lot next to the Subway down the street, and it is $7/night + tax. Finally there is a parking garage. It locks up at night and it is $15/day, but if you park over night it os $30 (considered 2 days). I went with the Subway lot. Checking out was just as easy. Will I come back? If I'm in El Paso, this is definitely my go to hotel! read more

The lobby area is large and has a lot of space and activity to just hang out. They have a pool table, Jenga, a huge connect 4 and of course a bar. The rooms are modern but are quite small but the bathroom was large. I did like the large windows overlooking the downtown area. Carpet wasn't vacuumed upon arrival as I found a couple pieces of trash under the desk. Beds are not super comfy, but not uncomfortable either. It has a nice working area for business travelers and equipped throughout the room with adequate electrical and usb outlets. Big screen TV is a plus. Bathroom was very clean and had a very spacious shower with shampoo/conditioner and shower gel pumps containers. They have room service which is always super convenient and had a variety of choices. The only have valet parking for $15 but they were quick to retrieve the car although they should update their service so you can text from your room to retrieve it like most other hotels. This place is probably the most modern looking hotel I've ever stayed at. The lobby alone made me think of a hip nightspot in NYC (this was El Paso). We got here extremely late at night and the receptionist here was very nice. This lobby has a pool table, areas to play games, lots of nice places to sit. I imagine it'd be buzzing with activity earlier in the day. I spent a lot of time looking around when we checked in. The receptionist also gave us each a free bottle of water (as my friend told me, this is the desert so it's important to stay hydrated in these parts). Getting to the room involved going to this other elevator in an adjacent office building; I wondered if we were going to find our room or end up on a floor filled with offices. Fortunately, we did get to the room. Our room was really nice (a mix of modern and classic style) though the bathroom setup was extremely awkward. We were sharing a room that had a king sized bed (FYI, you have your own area code in a bed that size) and to get to the toilet, you had to pass a shower with see through glass covering it. That's a bit awkward if someone's in the shower. The fridge was also in this part, which I found a little bizarre. Instead of the common Gideon Bible, they had The Book of Mormon in a drawer. I do like that they had USB ports and lights for each side of the bed. It was also a nice touch to see a note from Brenda, the housekeeper responsible for cleaning the room (she did a fine job since the room was perfect when we got in for the night). More hotels should have their staff do that. You won't be getting free breakfast but they do have valet and there's that lobby. read more

This hotel is a sleek and modern property that centrally located. Whether you decide to go to one of the restaurant or bar options in the area within walking distance or get an Uber/Lyft somewhere. If you are going to park a vehicle it's $15 plus tax for Valet only unless you decide to park yourself in a nearby garage or metered street parking. The rooms are all affordable and I stayed on the top floor in the Aloft Suite which is on the 15th floor. You have the entire 15th floor to yourself, the greatest near full panoramic views of the city on 3 sides. There is 3 air conditioning units in this room, so you will have no trouble cooling down. The room has a large shower and good size jacuzzi tub. Refrigerator under the bathroom sink, living room, desk, another TV in the bedroom and a safe. Downstairs by the lobby they have snacks available for purchase, breakfast in the morning also for purchase and a full bar and lounge area which is all nice with a pool table and games such as jenga, connect 4 and some other games. I had a great experience here. The staff was helpful and friendly and on the weekends they sometimes even have a comedy show in the back for free. read more

The hotel has an upscale feel but it lacks in a few important areas. The room was clean with a few big exceptions. The desk had drink rings which means it was not wiped down. The chair to the desk was old and filthy. The beds were comfortable and clean, the bathroom was clean. The staff was friendly. This is certainly a pretty and modern hotel that will meet your needs. I was only disappointed by the WiFi situation. WiFi is spotty at best. Traveling home from Palm Springs and El Paso is a great halfway point to Dallas. Booked through Marriott app. Easy parking in front while checking in. No parking however valet overnight $17.50. Totally worth it. Valet was very attentive and sweet. They oath offsite however there is a gate. Loyalty has its perks sometimes and we got upgraded to suite! 15th floor hotel card only access. Once we got off the elevator, this room is the only one on the 15th floor! Woot woot! Feeling like the Jeffersons! Penthouse deluxe apartment in the sky!! Seriously it's a two room-nice sized living room with desk space and a bar door separates the very spacious king sized bedroom. Love Aloft because they love my service animal Dutch! They'll love if you have a pet even. The rooms have small fridge, microwave, complimentary coffee for maker, water bottle and a small safe. This is my first time in El Paso. Being downtown it looks like could walk to several places if you desire some nightlife! We have to hit the road early so will be early to bed for us!! Just stay here. The price is right! I'd give them a zero, but that's not an option. Simply put, the room I reserved (as shown in their ad) was not the room provided upon check-in. Thus, I requested a full refund within an hour of arrival. I didn't spend more than two minutes in the room -- just long enough to determine it wasn't what I reserved. Worse yet, the staff seemed little interested in finding a solution to the mix-up and, instead, blamed it entirely on Booking.com who, intern, pointed at the hotel. While each blamed the other, the one left holding the bag was myself, the customer. In reaching out to the marketing manager for the hotel, l received a low-end brush off simply thanking me for my feedback. No solution, not even an attempt at one. As a PR professional myself, I would have had a closed-door conversation with the team. I DO NOT recommend this hotel nor their PR/Marketing team given their lack of proactive engagement. What should have been a no-brainer refund, turned into a week's-plus long of frustratingly chasing contacts down and being provided little to no closure. read more

Aloft El Paso is a brand new hotel- my friend and I checked in on its 5th day open. The look of the hotel is attractive enough- like an inoffensively-edgy Courtyard Marriott. It kind of strikes me as having been designed for a young, more cosmopolitan clientele by a firm of older, suburban designers. A corporate stab at hipster. Contemporary decor on an IKEA budget. As an urban dwelling 30-something, I suspect I'm solidly in its target demographic. It works well enough, especially for the price tag. The room was small but reasonably comfortable. Attractive bathroom and nice-smelling, name-brand (bliss) toiletries. Our biggest complaint was that the beds were tiny- barely bigger than twins. I feel like I haven't slept in anything so small that wasn't a twin in as long as I remember- I'm not 100% sure, but I think it may have been an even more condensed version of a full/double. In any case, it was too squishy for me and my little maltipoo dog to share comfortably- would be really bad with another human. Speaking of my dog-- the hotel's dog-friendliness was something they really got right. My pup was welcomed with biscuits, a tennis ball, and water bowl. Nearly all the staff greeted him adoringly. A very positive experience in that regard. Also of note, this place has a solid, minimal-frills, but well done gym. Dumbbell weight rack from 5-50 lbs, a bench, a cable weight machine, a couple treadmills, ellipticals, and bikes. A jar of free, packaged earbuds was a thoughtful touch. Hotel store area where you can buy food is well-curated but a bit overpriced and frustratingly without signs indicating how much things cost. The bar seems like it could be a fun place to hang out- lots of spots for groups to gather, and stuff to do like a giant Jenga set and pool table. Cocktails were at LA craft cocktail price point, but were all mixer/soda-based-- I'd definitely stick with beer. Overall, it was a pleasant stay at Aloft El Paso. Though not everything was running smoothly yet (our electric outlets inexplicably didn't work and we couldn't get the hot water going in the shower one morning), the consistently friendly staff, and comfortable-enough accommodations got the job done. I'd definitely stay here again if I ever return to El Paso. PS. The photos currently posted by management must be from another Aloft property, but it's not the El Paso hotel. Similar vibe, but at least the communal spaces are definitely shot in a different location. read more

I wanted to love this place when I booked it. Downtown, upscale feel, antique charm, but I can't justify the price versus value. I booked online and paid what I assume is full price, I got a room on the second floor which was small, darkly lit, and awkward. I was hoping that some stellar downtown views would help but all I got to see was the roof of the house of pizza (which was very good) but not worth paying full price for. Staff was nice and engaging, lobby is very contemporary, very ikea feeling. Valet is expensive and inconvenient as well as the breakfast offerings being awkward and overpriced. I hope that when the Basico steakhouse opens it will change the feel of the hotel but for now I can't seem to think of a reason I would book again. read more

Honestly, I'm not sure how I feel about this hotel. Caveat - moved away form El Paso in 2009. I love El Paso is starting to grow and become more "trendy". I've told many people it's like El Paso sprung forward twenty years in the last ten. Love the old Basset Tower was re-designed and re-purposed..but, personally, if it was going to be a hotel, I think a "classier"...more old fashioned feel would fit this historic building better. Aloft brings the "hipster" vibe, no doubt. Lots of vibrant colors, more modern furniture, pool table and bar in the lobby, complimentary fruit infused water, etc. The chairs in the lobby have USB ports, which was kind of cool...but in general - too "modern"/"hipster" for me. Guess I'm an "old soul" that way... They did leave the original building's lobby/elevator portion in the old style - which is nice. Probably the coolest part of the building is the old mail chute running every floor next to the elevators. We stayed on the 4th floor, and as you exit the elevators, you see doors which, I'm assuming, used to be the old "front doors" to the offices of the building. Being curious, I attempted to open one - and it opened. Probably should keep those locked...what I found was a cheap feeling painted plywood board which was the back portion of the bed in the room in which we were staying... The room (one king size bed) was small (which is to be expected in a luxury downtown hotel). Closet areas and bathroom was small; difficult and crowded with only two people. The bed was comfortable, though, and USB ports in the nightstands were a nice touch. The breakfast - forget about it. Breakfasts consist of these strange offerings reminiscent of the old Cup O' Noodles. Very strange "breakfast in a cup" type meals. Do yourself a favor - go right across the street to a coffee shop. Valet parking? Convenient, but a drag. Just another way to charge you. Upon arrival, I asked if we had to use it...and of course the valet guy said yes...there were no other options. Didn't want to argue, but I'm not totally on board. Great location, though. In walking distance of a lot of downtown; we walked one night to a Chihuahuas game no problem. Our family stayed here and got a special rate; I'm not sure I'd choose to stay here if it meant paying their regular rate. read more

Wife and I regularly visit Downtown El Paso and often overnight at the high end Paso del Norte and Plaza Hotels. Both hotels are now charging over $200 a night, so we decided to look around. We found the accommodations at the Aloft to be just as nice for significantly less money. Our room was extremely clean and comfortable. The room's bathroom get 2 thumbs up. Huge! We had a corner room with four large windows overlooking the downtown skyline. Only criticism and it's not big.... why only 1 water bottle in the room? We will definitely be back. read more

Breakfast is horrible fast food trying to appear hip...breakfast in a bowl..awful. Too expensive for what you get. I have stayed many places across the country lately and and I am very impressed with the Marriott properties, The Valley staff was very accommodating and and even allowed me to park and there parking area for an extended time while unloading my luggage during check in. The hotel was very clean and very clean and very upgraded on the inside, The room was beautiful and had gorgeous views of the wonderful El Paso desert. During checkout I lost my keys to my rental car and when I needed a place to sit and I needed to be able to get into my rental car, they even offered help with me getting into my car.... Unfortunately the keys were not found but overall they allowed me to sit in their parking zone working zone for 10 hours while I waited for my rent a car company to come And tow my car away.... The vallet employees run butts off Fetching peoples vehicles all day long and rarely get a break sense parking in the immediate area is not easy. I am from the Bay area and know very well the impact that a valet could have on your travel, They maintained professionalism even when I got upset and was emotional. The hotel employee as well as the valet employee Even helped me look through my luggage to find the keys, which admittedly I found I found a short time after getting to my next hotel room in El Paso. In fact everyone in El Paso was friendly was friendly write down to a fast food worker who gave uh gave me a complimentary drink when I was walking down the street having a horrible day and needed something to quench my thirst and to go with my delicious sandwich that I purchased. Everyone was really responsible foresponsible for making my day as pleasant as possible even though I was an emotional wreck it was an emotional wreck and couldn't even think straight straight to call a locksmith and instead when I couldn't get ahold of the rental car company I bour company I busted my own car window to put my luggage away and just rest in the car while I waited for the tow truck. If it wasn't for the fact that they had no rooms available when I needed one to be booked, And neither did the online Dealers who work with this hotel. Overall I wish I would have been offered a drink or something but but all staff members were extremely or extremely helpful within their means and I only hope they know how thankful I was for them allowing me to take up space when apparently I had misplaced the keys the entire time everytime and not even me and the employees could find them at that time. A special thanks to the valet team who really what up when above and beyond moving vehicles thing vehicles just to accommodate my tow truck, And even offered to park it's a part of the valet cars in front of mine so that they could easily be moved in time of need when the tow truck arrived. Was definitely not a perfect stay but the employees are really what stood out to me the most. Thank you to the gentleman at the front desk and Even the valet G guys who probably should never have even been a thought in my mind for having had taken The keys... or been accused of doing anything malicious when, I, in a in a panic, just couldn't see what was already there but that I had misplaced and forgotten. I checked in on a Thursday. The staff was helpful and friendly. They complimented the Alaska shirt that I was wearing and joked with me a check in. I felt instantly at ease. My room was on the 9th floor and had a lot of windows. There were 4 in the room and 2 in the bathroom. The bathroom was spacious as was room even though it was one of their smaller rooms. When I turned the TV on it said "My name, thanks for staying with us." How cool is that? Plus they have the ability to connect your Netflix or your Hulu through the TV. There are only 2 complaints that I have and they are minor. The first is that it took more than 5 minutes to get hot water in either the sink or the shower. The second is that even though I was on the 9th floor I could hear all the street traffic. The bus, the car with bumping music, honking, etc. It is clearly an old office building so I get it would be a little noisy. It also got very cold near the windows. Their breakfast was delicious and they have a great little convenience store. All of the staff was super friendly and helpful. I love the updated modern feel of the hotel but they preserved some of the original character of the building as well. I would definitely stay here again. read more

I wish I could give it more stars. It's a beautiful location in a converted old tower downtown. Rooms are lovely, everything is clean and staff was super nice. But the fun ends there. It's listed as dog friendly but there is no place to take your dog out, other than a small park a block and a half away. No parking of course but I know that's common in urban areas. Best option was a parking garage a block away for $15. No food available in the bar, tho we understood it to be more of a restaurant. No cups or glasses in the room for water or for the coffee machine. Final straw...we had no bath towels!!!!! Which unfortunately I didn't discover until I was wet and out of the shower. And a huge safety issue: the tile in the shower and on the shower floor was EXTREMELY slippery when wet. And of course the floor was wet because I was dripping all over the place searching for towels !! Too many screw ups overall to recommend. Take a pass on this one. read more

Check-in process easy and painless. Great view of downtown and the mountains. The elevator is like my grandpa; old so it's slow and a bit shaky but must be safe because it's efficient. This hotel used to be an old office building; the names of the previous businesses are still up by the elevators. They have a nice, chill bar downstairs and snacks/drinks near the front desk area. I got a salad, muffin and water for $15 so not cheap but convenient. The room is great; photos reflect the uniqueness. As you walk in, there's a zig zag type hallway before you hit the room. Bed is SO comfy and there's a huge flatscreen TV with not only cable, but options for YouTube TV and Netflix as well. I was a little nervous at first because my room was beside the elevator on the 9th floor, but luckily the walls are not thin and I didn't hear a thing that was going on outside of the room. I slept SO great, I didn't want to get up; their beds feel like big soft giant arms. 4 instead of 5 because there was no bathtub; nice shower but when I stay at a hotel I prefer to lounge in a nice big bubbly tub during my stay. There are nice big windows all around the room as well as in the bathroom, which is nice unless it's night time and you want to use the toilet or shower. Otherwise it's a voyeurs dream. First time in El Paso, TX. Upon arrival it was some what difficult to park in front of the hotel because it's located in the heart of downtown. Did not like that they only had one vallet attendant. The room was modern, small. I felt the bathroom should have been smaller and the room larger. The microwave was in the bathroom (didn't like that). Room was clean and the bathroom as well. The bed was comfortable and the pillows. The favorite part of the room for me was the shower. read more

The bed was heaven and that is what the 1 star is for. Otherwise the room was smaller than any hotel I've ever stayed at. The water took 10 minutes to warm up to shower and then it was boiling. The toilet paper was 1 ply crap and there was a coffee machine but no pot to actually make coffee in. There weren't any cups even if we could have had coffee. Oh and the view was another guest in her bathroom...taking a dump. For over $100 a night there was really no excuse for all the many things wrong. read more

At the time I was staying their you could order room service from the Basico Bistro Cafe or just walk and eat in the restaurant. Which is located next door. This is a two star hotel it would have been three however the rooms are super small and they put the refrigerator and coffee maker in the bathroom . I came in late at night about 10 pm already booked through the Marriott app. The staff at night were very helpful I was not expecting that there was no place to park and basically you you have to valet park which was 17.95 . First thing I raise my eyebrows at however as I said I was tired and it was late . I was disappointed that they didn't have a mobility friendly room which is in my requests if you have a Marriott account they can see what you are used to anyway we get upstairs and it was small it reminded me of my college days except with a king size bed . I have stayed at aloft hotel before in San Jose California it was huge compared to this now if you are used to Marriott hotels you know they can be pricey last night cost me 177.00 it was not worth it and I will tell you why last night the staff that check me in from valet to front counter wonderful even brought my bag and yes I'm disabled but they were super polite however morning stay was luke warm front desk he rolled eyes because they had given my daughter and some free items it was supposed to be breakfast however he never explain where breakfast was so we just took a drink from the snack area they're was not enough coffee in the lobby to fill half a cup and yes at 177 .00 I wanted a cup a coffee to start my day last but not least the only bright star on morning staff was guy who went to get my van he was so polite the front desk was like tap water and all the Mangement was walking around pass us not one good morning it was really sad southern hospitality has decreased however the cost of traveling has not . read more
