Due to his experience back in the 60's and 70's he is now living with Parkinson's. Over the past few years he is finally taking advantage of the benefits that the VA has to offer. One of these benefits is a home health aide that comes to the house 3x week. We had been using Bright Hope Home Care for the past 2 years. In the beginning their aide was great and quickly became a friend to him. Unfortunately, she left for personal reasons. Over the past 9 months the service has gone downhill. There are certain regulations that the VA puts in place that the aide needs to abide by (which are different than a self-pay client). There were many instances over the past 9 months that the aide went against certain regulations. It was brought to her attention and to the attention of the Bright Hope Home Care administration many times. The feedback we got from administration was that all her clients love her. Ultimately, we had to ask for a new aide. With the new aide we dealt with service inconsistency. There were many days we didn't know if she or anyone was going to show up. Although when we asked about it, they would say they were not short staffed. The main reason for this bad review happened last week. We had decided it was time to try a new company but didn't want his service interrupted. We expressed to both the VA, Bright Hope, and the new company our intentions and planned for his service with Bright Hope end on Friday and the new company to start on Monday. When Bright Hope received this news they abruptly cancelled his service saying that they had no one to pick up the shifts for the following week. Thankfully, the new company was able to expedite their process and start on Wednesday.

She had her mouth open and they already put a device in her mouth. The doctor decided he wasn't going to work on her and said I can't work on her if she does move (she wasn't moving and was hooked up to nitrous) we were seen for a LASER filling. At this point he stood up and left the room, with the assistant repeating "we see this everyday it's not going to work". My daughter was laying back completely still under nitrous- might I add. I asked- so you're going to make her come back again and after starting a service and saying you won't work on her when she has a few tears? (First filling) She was upset that they stopped, I told her we'd have to come back and try again. Then- we go to leave and I ask the assistant as we walk out now what, I schedule an appointment next week to try again? And she says no-the doctor won't want to see her back for six months at least. I said for a filling!? How do they know her tooth won't hurt by then? The lack of caring, patience and time they give is absurd for a pediatric dentist. My daughter was calm and ready outside of having some normal fears for her first ever cavity. Had they taken a moment to slow down instead of storm off, she would have been fine moments later. Instead, she started crying even more because I told her we would have to come back AGAIN. Extremely unprofessional and so disappointed. I DO NOT recommend this place for fillings. EDITED TO ADD: I called around to a few other pediatric dental offices and explained her age, circumstance, etc and they all stated they would NOT recommend waiting 6 months for the filling. I proceeded to call back and asked if we actually are recommended to wait 6 months for her to be seen, what am I supposed to do if she has pain and also how much can I expect the tooth to decay if we wait that long? The girl put me on hold. Then another female answers and says she's the office manager. She started the phone call right away by saying we no longer think your family would be a good fit here you guys obviously don't like it here etc. I said I'm calling to ask questions about my daughter's care for her cavity, I never said we don't like it there. I'm a parent trying to take care of my daughter's teeth. She said yeah well we're going to refer you out etc. I said okay, well the only issue I had was the bedside manner today and lack of patience. She stated that the assistant and doctor claimed my daughter (who I was in the room with the entire time) was "crying hysterically, moving, and not opening her mouth" which was 100% not the case. She had some tears which could have easily been walked through with patience. While still on the phone she did state "you're leaving a google review so you wouldn't be a good fit here" I guess only good reviews are appreciated by staff, but REAL reviews are appreciated by the public. I'm just shocked and blown away by the abrupt, unprofessional, sad, not patient, not kid friendly service today. Yes I left overwhelmed, frustrated and upset. After hours on the phone getting other opinions, I lack the trust in this dentist. I ended the phone call with the dental office manager (repeating myself because I still didn't get an answer) as a parent I'm just trying to figure out if the 6 months is real and if it is- what to do if she has pain, and secondly how much can I anticipate her tooth to decay in waiting that time? And she stated she would talk to the doctor and call me back. Added: they called me back and didn't answer any questions and said we're sending you a dismissal letter I said okay I'll add to my google review and hung up. That's my latest update. They NEVER sent me ANY bills that were apparently not taken care of by her insurance. One of the bills was never even sent to my mothers insurance. My son was born in May, it is now OCTOBER and they sent this letter to me. This is BEYOND UNPROFESSIONAL to word something this way. We are in contact with the insurance company to get it figured out, but to get a letter that starts off with THIS??! Totally unbelievable and downright rude. I didn't have a true problem with this practice until now. We left because they didn't accept the insurance my son is on, but if I was still there I would be leaving after this. Edit to add: Just discovered a $150 lactation consultant bill when I did NOT ask to meet with the consultants at our initial visit. I was TOLD "the lactation consultant will come in and speak with you about things before you leave" and that was it. was not told i'd be charged, and I didn't ask to speak with them.
