Having her return home was no longer an option; which led me to quickly get to up to speed on senior living options,mostly on my own. I found her a place & moved her in all before her release. While I ensured her safety, I second guessed my decisions as she vocally struggled to adjust; it was a lot of change particularly for someone who rarely left her home. Almost 6 months in, a different set of doubts & worries took over. Did I make the right call, could she live somewhere more affordable, would she outlive her money, etc. I don't even recall what search term led me to Senior Living Experts, but I'm grateful. Rebecca listened to my story and made me feel less alone. She thought where my mom was at was the best option in terms of cost, desired location and care needs addressed, but would do the research and circle back. We also discussed the care she received currently and provided a few suggestions. As promised, Rebecca followed up and confirmed her initial assessment. Yes, I'll still worry about her finances, but I now have a better understanding of the landscape and what comes should her care needs increase. Most importantly, they are both extremely kind to our mom and because of that, she looks forward to seeing them. They assist her with her personal needs, heat up meals for her, encourage her to get up and walk around the house with their assistance so she doesn't sit for too long and finally, they get her ready for bed and put her to bed for the night. We feel very fortunate to have such caring and highly qualified caregivers. When we initially reached out to Compassion Home Care, Matthew, the owner, called me back the same day I called them. He gave me Laura's name who would work with my sisters and me to come up with the best caregivers for my mom's needs. Laura is extremely professional and her main goal was to learn what we were looking for and supply the best people. She has great insight from her experience in home health care over the years. We are very pleased with the women she decided were the best for our mom. It is very comforting knowing that your loved ones are taken care of when you aren't with them. They put the other agency to shame with the amount of work they did with and for mom in the short time they were there - they never slowed down! What we like most is how much she engages with dad. Dad is 93 with advanced Parkinson's, and some heart issues. They talk about the past, sing songs together. Dad texted me this morning and said " I am up, dressed scrubbed and shaved. What a nice job Sharon does." I highly recommend her. We love her!
