Daryl and his crew were down to earth, responsive, professional, and always on time. They made what could have been a stressful process feel smooth and well organized. Over the course of two trips, everything was handled with great care. Every item was placed exactly where it needed to be, they accommodated all of our requests without issue, and nothing was damaged. On top of that, they even assembled all of the new furniture, which made a huge difference. Daryl and his team truly do it all, and it shows in the quality of their work. We highly recommend Southern Maine Movers.

Anthony was a sub-contractor that came to me thru the contractor I hired to fix my front stairs…read more The job started as a leak into the basement from the front steps landing. It ended up being the stairs getting replaced with some structural damage repaired. Anthony and his crew did an excellent job fixing the stairs. The leak is gone and they look beautiful. Anthony called me and showed me each step of the process and even took photos and sent them to me as he was doing the work. He then replaced a set of stairs in the tradesman area that were rotted. He fixed a window for me and finally, he redid my downstairs bathroom that was put in many years ago and desperately needed an upgrade. It is a tiny bathroom and Anthony and his team made it look so pretty and much larger. He helped me pick the tiles and fixtures and now it is a beautiful little bathroom I am proud of. Anthony works very hard and is one of the most honest contractors I have had the pleasure of dealing with. I will use Anthony again for any other jobs I need to do. Thanks Anthony.

Max, who I believe has been here about 4 months, is the absolute best. I had reserved a 10x30 unit,…read morewhich was way bigger than I needed but I wanted to have extra space to easily access my things until I find a house. I booked over the phone in advance, drove my 20ft Uhaul across the US, and arrived to find a lock on my unit. I walked over to the office, thinking that they might keep the units locked for security. Max hopped up to help, because he though it was open and ready for me. Seems an old tenant came by and put a lock on. Max drove 30 minutes away to get a file to take the lock off, and even then, me and my movers couldn't get the door open (Max tried and even called someone for help). To save time so I could return my Uhaul on time, Max found me two 10x20s (I only ended up needing one) and my movers unloaded everything into it. Max offered to move everything into my 10x30 the next day when they fixed the door (turns out a piece of metal from the lock had somehow blocked the lock, but none of us could see it). I decided to just keep the 10x20, since everything fit just fine, and Max adjusted my invoice to reflect the difference in price. THINGS HAPPEN. Excellent service and a can-do attitude are the best solution a company can offer. I couldn't have asked for more and am very happy to have my things stored here.

He immediately called and the person working said oh sorry I will change it, don't worry. Gave him the number of the bigger unit. He wrote it down. I called to confirm the location the morning of and the worker confirmed the number and location of unit. Hours later our movers showed up and it was the wrong size unit and our stuff would not fit. My husband , myself and some family members all tried . I called every 2 minutes for hours my husband drove to the office and the sign said working at a different location ( NO ADDRESS given) but the same phone number we had been calling. Our movers were able to find a solution. I continued to call and leave messages every few minutes ( not exaggerating I was furious and wanted my money back) I tried for 2.5 days before I finally was in contact with someone over the Facebook page. Which one of the workers responded on their personal page very rudely and unprofessional. They tried to say that I was lying and I replied I would be very happy to provide my phone records. That's when I'm not sure if that person switched over to the halls Facebook account to reply or someone else saw her behavior and they replied that someone will call me shortly to resolve it . Well hours later no one called ( even though at least one worker was able to respond on Facebook back and fourth) she wasn't able to use the phone I guess . Hours later I called a different location and was finally able to get my money back! But all in all I was lucky my movers found a place big enough for my stuff but I had to pay for 2 extra hours of my movers because of this!!!

Gordon himself runs this business with his family as they have done for decades and their dedication to the highest quality of work and customer satisfaction is as clear as day. They take the time to assess your home in person to provide as accurate as possible a cost estimate and to properly allocate labor and materials. They provide many ways of assuring that the move will go as planned and that any unexpected challenges would be taken care of if they arose. They were incredibly kind and communicative and went out of their way to assure that we would have a smooth and comfortable move. Their commitment to their customers satisfaction fully included the work of the movers as well. Their team handled both the moving and also packing of our entire home, and everything was done with care and efficiency. I have used many moving services over the years and we were very impressed by Gordon's and have absolutely no hesitation recommending them for a move and would happily hire them again if needed.

My husband and I recently went through an unexpected and stressful move, and I cannot express enough how grateful we are that we hired Gordon's. From the very beginning, when Gordon came to do an estimate, he was so understanding and kind, all the way through to the last day when they completed our move, everything was done with exceptional service, professionalism, kindness, courtesy, and genuine care. This is one of those rare companies that truly cares about you, wants to make your life easier, and is dedicated to providing excellent service. Gordon and Cathy are absolutely wonderful people who clearly love what they do, are very good at it, and are exactly who you want running a company. And their team... WOW! The group of young men on their team are AMAZING! On top of being incredibly hardworking, they were the nicest individuals. We never heard them complain once despite working very long days (and in the heat, no less!), they were so sweet with our toddler, asked questions to ensure that everything was packed & moved exactly how/where we wanted, and each and every one of them did an absolutely remarkable job. My husband and I cannot say enough good things about them, as well as Gordon and Cathy. To say we were fortunate to have them help us through this move is a huge understatement. I also want to underscore that we are a military family and have moved seven times in the past ten years, so we have a lot of experience with moving companies. Gordon's Moving is by far, without question, THE VERY BEST.
