He told me to get a meat thermometer and go to the inside unit. I'm 74, and the prospect of getting on a ladder to check the inside unit was daunting. Then he said he would be there later. He didn't show, but came the next morning. He admitted that he should have added freon, but was very argumentative. I declined to pay for the freon (since he should have checked that before), and he stormed out. The owner came to talk with us about the incident and he, too, was very argumentative, defending Vince, He said we could either write a bad review or pay for the freon, like there was a choice. We gave him the money, but he returned it when we suggested he fire Vince. If you must deal with Clark, do not let them send Vince. He is cocky, snide, and the ultimate in unprofessionalism. The next day I got a call with the estimate. I needed a new part. I told them to do the repair. Two hours later the guy was back with the part. An hour after that he was done and the AC was working. They responded quickly. After checking said I had a freon leak but would have to run a dye test over the weekend to find the leak. They would send tech out on Monday to fix leak. Charge$696. Monday tech comes out couldn't find the leak, but found "my whole system was not balanced". They wanted an additional $1,800+. Um, no. Called ACE AC. They sent their tech out. Alex. Said he knew exactly what the problem was. Cleaned the coil which he stated was black with dirt. Total charge $95. Air has been running colder than it has in years. Still freezing us today. Thanks ACE and thank you Alex. You did the job and didn't try to rip us off.
