Wasn't bad but it wasn't mind blowing. The gratuity is included in the check, so you don't have to worry about that

Exceptional atmosphere compared to the surrounding options. The food was a little underwhelming... Especially ithe lobster mac & cheese which definitely used the wrong kind of cheese and was more like a gross creamy soup. The "classic" shrimp cocktail is basically a big bowl filled with shrimp and completely bathed in cocktail sauce (not very classic... More of a shrimp ceviche with different sauce). Would have been nice if my server mentioned I was accidentally ordering enough raw shrimp for myself to feed a family of four. Then he asked if I wanted to take it home--that couldn't have ended well haha.

Eggs poblano Mexican style.

This is my favorite restaurant in Chelem. The menu varies day today so you have to look at the specials board before you order. The regular menu is chock-full of Mexican Specialities and American breakfast choices. I've tried just about everything here and I have never been disappointed. My favorite is eggs poblano with fresh squeezed grapefruit juice, and black coffee.

OMG can't rave about Almadia enough!!! The only complaint I would say is that my friend wasn't completely finished with her wonderful crab cakes before her entree was served and my other friend and I were still enjoying our appetizer. My friend had the Caesar salad which was a meal by its self and I truly loved my gazpacho soup the presentation was outstanding. One friend had the salmon the other skirt steak and I totally loved-my zarandeado fish the best I've ever had!!! Great wine selection Wonderful atmosphere right on the beach!! Staff is great with my broken Spanish and their broken English we worked it out In my opinion this is a restaurant you do not want to miss! I'm writing now as I'm waiting to post about my desert Ok my desert just arrived for the three of us to share... cornbread with honey and vanilla ice cream here I go OMG have to say it gets three thumbs up it's warm and super moist and so yummy!!!!

Indoor n outdoor seating .. recommend grabbing an umbrella table outside and taking in the sites, sounds n people watching (depending on where you sit - you may be visited by an occasional local (your friend) inquiring if you'd like to buy a boot leg DVD, bakery item, jewelry ++). The beer is cold and opened table side and the Mexican food is simple, flavorful n authentic! (The prices are ridiculously cheap and the service is stellar - be nice and tip generously ;-) Ps - if needed, they have nice restroom.

The Bars and Restaurants have tables on the street in a sidewalk cafe type setting. I have been stopping here on every trip to Progresso. The immediate place as you enter the street area, is Panco Villa Restaurant. You are greeted offer a menu along with the cost of the beverages, Margaritas 2 for $5 or beer for $1. I must say, the margaritas are made traditional, squeezed lime, triple sec, bar syrup, and tequila and in a real glass, not a plastic cup. I had several items to eat, one was the shrimp cocktail, Mexican style, very delicious and then I had the Devil Shrimp, sometimes referred to as Camarones el Diablo. They will prepare to any degree of heat that you want. So, if you are cruising through Progresso, give this place a stop for food or just a drink. Ask for Sergio.
