The two final straws for us was in Dec. 2020 when I brought in my son's father/my ex-husband for a check up and a review of a hospital stay he had. By this time this office had known us for over 9 years. My ex-husband was having some kind of psychotic break down (he spent six days in the hospital) - I really needed some kind of direction in which way to go to get him help. The hospital was a temporary fix but our family doctor should be able to steer us in a helpful direction - I thought. What I was told from the head doctor was "He is harmless and there should not be any violence with his condition." That was it - I was at a loss with no way to help but be assured this office collected their copay but gave me no further information on a way to help my son's father/my ex-husband. We went home and I searched this entire county for help for him. 5 weeks later in Jan 2021 - my son's father/my ex-husband shot himself in the head. So much for - "He is harmless and there should not be any violence with his condition." By May of 2022 - I had lost 30 lbs (which is about 25% of my body weight) dealing with the repercussions of the above paragraph, probate, protecting my son from as much of the harshness of his father's death as I could and my own grief while still working to support us. With the weight loss I was experiencing "Great" GI issues. I was not able to eat, sleep and I was in a great deal of pain. I had diarrhea for about three weeks and I knew my weight would keep dropping. This office was useless and had no companion. On one visit I was given a prescription for a pill and sent home and the next visit they told me to go to the ER. They knew what happened with my son's father/my ex-husband, they knew what I was going through and not one time did they step out of the 15 minute visit protocol and assist me. I will say the the NP did act like she was at a loss and she did go talk to a doctor on the second visit and they told her to "Write her another prescription and sent her on her way or tell her to go to the ER." I ended up going to the ER 9 times in 45 days, Urgent Care twice and a GI specialist twice. My body had just had it. Finally it was the second Urgent Care visit that helped me - The doctor sat with me and explained what was happening in my body with all the information I gave her - She gave me two prescriptions - an eight week plan for healing my GI system - then a plan to regain my weight. It was a long recovery but we made it. I was worried about my son and his welfare the entire time which did not lower the stress/acid that was eating me alive but again we got through it. That doctor was a life saver and I would have followed her anywhere if I could but she did not have a practice, she was an urgent care doctor. Sorry, for the long explanation. But I do want to let you know that their are doctors out there that will take the time and look for a solution. We have found a new doctor and have moved forward. I would not recommend Sierra Nevada Wellness. They are inconsiderate, dismissive and only care about the numbers on their spread sheets. They do not care about their patient's or the repercussions of their lack of action. They do not take the time to really be a medical facility. It is strictly numbers for them. They have lost the human component.

I have been extremely sick for 2 days and knew I had the flu, so I called my doctor's office to see…read moreif they could call in a prescription for tamaflu for me. They said they dont do that, I would have to come in, and my regular doctor didnt have any openings so I had to see doctor Dolan. Fine. I will have my husband drive me and my 2 toddlers, who are all also sick but not as bad as me, to the appointment (because I am too sick to drive and we dont have a sitter). So now we have 4 people sick with the flu in their waiting room. Sounds great so far, right? Way smarter than just calling in a prescription durning the middle of flu season, right? So the nurse calls me back, takes my vitals and swabs my nose for the flu virus. Fine, whatever. Then the doctor comes in and wants to know what I "want?". Kind of weird thing to ask, but I tell her I think I have the flu and I would like tamaflu. She tells me I don't have a fever and I let her know I am taking dayquil religiously every 4 hours because I am very sick and it helps a little with the fevers. Then she asks me how long I've had symptoms. I tell her and she says that's longer than 48 hours and they dont prescribe tamaflu after 48 hours. Mind you, we are now at about 50 hours. I asked her why not, since I have read many times that tamaflu helps even if you start taking it after 48 hours. Her answer was "it makes people nauseous". Ok, I think that if that's your only concern you should let the patient make that decision. So after that conversation, Dr. Dolan says "your flu results will be done in a couple minutes". I told her I didnt see the point in waiting on the flu results because they wouldn't prescribe me medication anyway. All of the sudden she says that I might be a special case because I take steroids for an autoimmune disease that makes me more susceptible to pneumonia. At this point I'm wondering what's wrong with this woman. She goes on and on about how she wont give me tamaflu because it's been close 50 hours and it makes people nauseous, then literally her next sentence is telling me I'm a special case and I need to be on tamaflu. Anyway, she leaves for the lab results and guess what, I have Flu type A. She gets my local pharmacy phone number to send over a prescription for tamaflu and I ask her for a prescription for cough medicine. She says they dont give prescriptions for that. Fine. Can you reccomend an over the counter cough medicine? "We reccomend a teaspoon of honey". I asked her to repeat herself because I was in disbelief. She repeated "a teaspoon of honey". Listen lady, I already know you are a nut, but if you think I am getting up every 3 minutes in the night with coughing fits to eat a teaspoon of honey, not only will I not get any sleep but I will have diabetes by morning. Anyway, we head over to the pharmacy to pick up the tamaflu I had to suffer mind games at the hands of a doctor to get, and guess what. They didnt send my prescription to the pharmacy I specifically asked them too and gave them the number for. NOPE. They submitted it to my mail order pharmacy. So the kind people at the pharmacy called my doctor and told them to send over the prescription and cancel the order with the mail order pharmacy because my insurance wouldn't cover both. Cool. Except now I have to wait another half hour for my prescription. We wait a half hour, go back up, and they tell us my doctor cant seem to cancel my mail order prescription and they wont be able to do anything for me until the mail order is canceled. At this point I'm exhausted so we just leave. As we get in the car to drive home my doctor's office calls to tell me what the pharmacy people already told me, that they sent the prescription to the wrong place and they were not able to fix it and I about lost my mind. They made a huge deal about how many hours I had been sick and didnt want to give me the medication, but then realized they should, but instead of sending it where they were supposed to, they sent it to mail order where it would take literally DAYS to fill. I told them to cancel all the orders since "hours" seem to make a huge difference in efficacy. They had already wasted at least 2 additional hours at this point and I didnt even have the medicine yet. I just needed to rest and the stress was making me feel even worse. Done, right? Nope, 2 hours later I get an email from the mail order pharmacy saying that my order will be delivered in 4 to 7 days. Thanks Dr. Dolan and thanks to her super incompetent staff, I guess i will just wait and see if i get pneumonia. Oh, also, the staff at the doctor's office was apparently supposed to have me put on a mask so I wouldn't spread the flu virus to others in the waiting room with my horrible cough, and they didnt. Doctor Dolan told me that after she came into the examination room. Bye bye Saint Mary's! If this flu doesnt kill me I will be seeking care at another practice.

I was trying to establish a new PCP since I just…read morerecently moved to the Reno area and called 3 weeks ago to make an appt for June 2017 (the earliest I could get). Lucky for me, I was able to find a different PCP MUCH earlier (l saw them last week - a month earlier). So I decided to make a courtesy call to Katie Dolan's office to cancel my appt for June only to find out that they never had me scheduled and in fact Dr Dolan was going to take quite a bit of time off for several months around that same timeframe. The assistant who answered the call didn't know what to say. I told her 'THANK YOU VERY MUCH for making me feel better that I chose someone else to do business'. The YELP reviews speaks for itself. I was going to avoid them and just try her out but apparently they only speak the truth. Avoid this office with the plague. They obviously don't know anything about customer service.

All we ate was fast food, pizza and frozen meals and I could feel myself getting more unhealthy by the day. The next week we hired Jessica to meal prep for us for lunch and dinner. It was such a godsend to have home cooked healthy meals! Every week Jessica gives us a shopping list and it is so simple to instacart the exact amount needed for the week. Now we have gourmet meals prepped for home and work. I look forward to it every week. Now we actually spend less total per week including paying Jessica. I think this is because now we do not waste food. It also feels great to have an organized fridge without food wasting. The meals themself are excellent. We are on a healthy plan as well. We loved the chicken salad wraps with Greek yogurt substituted for Mayo. Cashew chicken with rice!! Yummm. She's also very creative and make dishes that I would not even conceive of and I would never make for myself. On the list for the week was ground chicken avocado spinach balls with yogurt sauce. Honestly this did not sound appealing, but we decided to go with it anyways. It was our favorite of the week. The flavors were bursting. It seemed like a fusion of Mexican and Mediterranean and we loved it! The textures we're interesting and mouthwatering. The spinach, chicken and avocado provided a complex medley of different flavors and mouth feel. The next week we had another odd ball on the menu. Strawberry chicken with balsamic? That sounded strange. We again almost discontinued this order and went with a different order however by this point Jessica definitely earned our trust as an outstanding person and chef. This again was our favorite meal of the week. The blender flavor is quite unique with the fruit mixed with the acidity of the balsamic which marinated perfectly into the chicken thighs. What started as a postpartum temporary meal plan has now turned into a fixture of our life. We gladly welcome Jessica into our home and she is very Covid conscious for anybody who is concerned. We also look forward to outstanding gourmet meals every week which far surpass our previous Trader Joe's frozen food and delivery pizza.
