I've had FFH service my 21-year-old Husqvarna 24hp, 48" cut, lawn tractor a couple of times. The…read moremost recent servicing, July, 2026, included a tuneup and replacement of mower deck belts that I provided. Overall, this was a $600+ mower servicing. During the servicing FFH noted, on the mower deck, that two idler pulleys and one spindle needed replacing. They let me know, I ok'd it. And my supplied belts were installed. I received the mower on July 28 and, after a couple of mowings, one of the idler pulley tension springs came loose, causing the mower belts to come loose and shred. I believe the idler spring came loose because it hadn't been installed correctly. Rather than go back to FFH (based on the time they had the mower earlier, I figured the time they'd have the mower this time would be excessive) I purchased OEM replacement belts, $136.02, from eReplacementParts.com. A buddy and I removed the shredded belts and installed the new belts ourselves. I phone FFH about this issue and asked if they'd cover the cost of the new OEM belts. The Alma service center, after considerable discussion, could only provide a FFH higher up's phone number for me to call. I tried calling twice - no one answered and the phone number did not provide an opportunity to leave a message. I am not going to try again. My position is the tech servicing the mower did not install the idler spring correctly because if it was installed correctly, as my buddy and I did, there is no way it will come loose. Now it's up to me to work my way up through the ranks of FFH to try to resolve this issue. I'm not going to take the time to do that. I'll eat the cost of replacing the belts myself and simply not use FFH again. A company that is this ingrained to the holy dollar, rather than customer service, doesn't need my business.
