My optometrist recommended Dr. Laurence Kaye and Tucson Eye Care, the doctor and office she sent her mom to. The soonest appointment was in three weeks, when my eyes were measured and tested and then I met with Dr. Kaye, the surgeon. He explained the procedure and my options. Medicare covers lens replacement, but for additional cost I could upgrade to eliminate my astigmatism and achieve 20/20 vision near and far, and not need glasses or contacts. Seemed like quite a plan. Well, today was my final post-operative checkup. I have better than 20/20 vision and couldn't be more pleased. All the technicians, office staff, Dr. Kaye, and Dr. Siekert were kind, informative, caring, and supportive. The actual procedures were done at the Camp Lowell Surgery Center, which has the same quality of compassionate care as the Tucson Eye Care. I could not have asked for a better experience or outcome and HIGHLY recommend.

On my child's second visit with Dr. Thomas, after his vision screening, we sat down with Tabby the Optician. When we were finished with her making adjustments to the glasses she said we were good to go. I asked her If we needed to stop and make a payment, she said "no you're good to go," as she walked us out. After I walked out the front door, and was half way to my car, one of the front desk staff came chasing me down and said I forgot to make a payment, and needed to go back in and make one. As you can imagine this was very embarrassing for me. Before my child's third visit he happened to lose his glasses. I notified the office that I needed to buy a new pair of frames and needed to cancel our appointment. They instructed me to bring the frames into the office after I purchased them, as they would need to take some measurements for lenses. We had prepaid for 6 months worth of lenses at the start of treatment for the original frames, so I was unsure how the transition to the new frames would work. After buying the new frames, I took them in and Tabby took my child and I back to take measurements. She made a comment that they didn't prefer the glasses with the half frame around the lenses. Well, they never made that specification before I bought the frames. I was under the impression that I needed to leave the frames there so they could fit the new lenses. She never told me otherwise nor did she specifically hand the glasses back to me and tell me to take them. About a week and a half later I received a call to inform me that the glasses were ready. When I entered the office with my child, I was running a few mins behind, which I had called prior to let them know. I made a comment "I'm sorry I'm late." Tabby, who was behind the receptionist, stood up and was very passive aggressive asking me "Do you have the frames?" I looked at her and said "Uh, I left the frames with you last time I came in. Your office called and told me they were ready for pick-up." She said "Oh, I'm just so used to asking that," then as she walked to the back she said to the receptionist "Did you see the concern in her eyes" and giggled. You would think she would know before hand why her next Pt. is coming in and have more regard for her patients. We pay a lot of money to this office for our child's treatment. Insurance does not cover it. You would think the staff would be more courteous and respectful to their customers. Staff should take the time to explain their process and answer questions rather than make snarky remarks. Very unprofessional and disappointing.
