The teachers are fabulous, very caring and loving. The Director is fantastic (two of her kids also go to POA at that location) and runs a well organized school. I was torn between doing the nanny thing or daycare and this school has set the bar very high. My little one eats better and naps better at school than at home. The experience has been wonderful. I have no complaints at all about this place. I'm sorry to see the negative review below. My daughter is thriving.. eating well and is an early walker, very social, very happy all the time. The kids have lots of time for play, both in the sunny classrooms with views of the river, and in their two outdoor playgrounds and indoor gym. Although the school is play-based, they also do a lot of learning through play! I've been amazed at how my son's writing ability has grown this year. The specials (library, art, music, and dance) are also a real highlight of the Weekday School. My son has been bringing home amazing art projects, and showing us the songs and dances that he learned at school. Most importantly, the teachers are so experienced and caring. They really get to know each child as an individual, and my son has bonded very strongly with his teachers. Ms. Daina, the director, is incredibly warm, dedicated, and accessible. She knows all the children, is involved on a day-to-day level, and provides a lot of guidance for the kindergarten application process. We have had a wonderful experience with the Weekday School. The room is bright, beautiful and filled with art created by the children. There are books and toys to stimulate many areas of development, and the children are given lots of freedom to play and explore in their own way. There is a beautiful gym and a side yard where the children get time every day to run around and move their bodies. They also have weekly music and yoga, and a weekly color theme for art projects and homemade playdough. There's a good amount of structure--not too much, not too little. Our daughter is making friends and so are we! We chose PSCCC because it was one of the few preschools where we noticed a lot of diversity--both among the students and teachers. My Little School is a happy little haven for children in downtown Manhattan. It is a small, warm,…read moretight-knit community with smart, driven administrators and loving, nurturing teachers. My daughter has been going here for 2 years and it is her home away from home (mine too!). I have forged such wonderful relationships with the other parents as well as the staff and teachers. The children receive wonderful individualized attention and they are encouraged to develop their strengths, whatever those may be. They learn to respect one another, resolve conflict and acknowledge each other's feelings, plus they participate in a full preschool curriculum with plenty of outdoor play, creative expression and problem-solving, all in an atmosphere that fosters a love for Judaism. The staff was about to leave when I walked in for a holiday break over the summer, but Ms. Donna welcomed me in to show me around. I was impressed with how clean each of the rooms were. They have hard wood floors throughout with the occasional area rug for children to sit and play or read. Each child has their own hook for their coats and backpacks. The infant room as a dedicated location for each child's belongings (Diapers, cups, snack, pacifiers, etc.) They have an outside location for the children to play during the warm weather. In the summer they do water play. Once a week the music teacher comes in and the kids have a blast. Tiny Tiki is a fun place to be. After a short discussion with my husband we decided to bring our daughter here. Day one was rough for me to leave my daughter at 3 months old, but Ms. Donna was quick to send me pictures of how happy she was throughout the day. Over a year later I can honestly say choosing Tiny Tiki was the best decision. My daughter is so happy to go to day care each day. She knows all the teachers and can say their names at almost 2 yrs old. They all care for each of the children as their own. There are even times when she cries because she doesn't want to leave.
