They were able to accommodate me right away and the woman behind the desk was very friendly. They never took my name, never did any intake or had me fill out a form. The only reason they might now have my name is because I paid by credit card at the end. This is not how a professional place operates. No one ever told me my therapist's name so I don't know who worked on me. She worked within a routine and never really focused on anything for very long. I tried vocalizing mmmmm or saying "good" to let her know when something felt good but she didn't really stop and get into the tissue. The first part of the massage was compression through the sheet and when she finally applied oil it was too much to do connected deep tissue. I enjoyed the hot stones bc I never choose that option so it was a nice surprise. Some of her techniques felt good but it definitely wasn't the kind of bodywork I enjoy or needed.

It is tough to be able to massage someone's head while also being precise with how you shampoo, condition, massage, towel wrap someone while working through an area where pain tolerance can be low. Price was $112 per person online (before tip, I think with a discount that is going on right now?), but if you pay with cash after your appointment, they do give you a 5% discount (we got $15 off per person because I think it was from the original non-discounted price). They let you tip either with card or cash afterwards and put it in an envelope for the person who helped you. They said they've only been open 1.5 years ish which is pretty impressive! Pros: - SUPER easy and available parking, very easy to get to from the East Bay - Extremely relaxing - the ambiance was very clean with lots of plants, really chill music. I almost fell asleep during my treatment because it was so calm. - The treatment was great - my scalp felt super rejuvenated, and I could see on the ipad camera they used that it was super gunky before and so much cleaner afterwards. - They did a full 50 mins of: a short scalp massage, a really deep clean of my hair and scalp, and also a short neck massage and upper shoulders massage. Then apparently the masseuse my partner had was too light so they asked if it's okay to switch with me. Dear god. I need a lot lighter touch massage than my boyfriend but this second one was terrible. There was no technique used at all, she basically just rubbed me with oil the whole time. For the first time in my life I had to ask them to go harder. She did then, for like 10 seconds, but went back to the light touch. I was so frustrated laying there in the bed. I actually just wanted it to be over. They were nice and so was the front desk but this was a 100% waste of money. My dog could probably massage better than them.
