I'm not a girly girl. I don't get my nails done, I have a hair cut only as necessary, I have had a facial once in my life and I'm only a toe nail painter in the summer. So my first experience in a nail salon was certainly an interesting one.
I'll fess up first - having a voucher to this place was the only thing that got me through the door in the first place. So I'm not an expert.
First thought upon walking into Allure Nails & Beauty - "should I not be able to breathe properly in here?"
Second though upon sitting down at the chair - "really, why is there no ventilation in here?"
Third thought - as my nails were being filed, polished and shellac painted - "I could get used to this!"
Final thought walking out with less than shiny nails with a few imperfections and kind of looking like I had a go myself at a few - "I don't think I would pay full price for this service."
At the end of the day though these guys do $20 shellac nails ($5 to remove), the staff are friendly and for a "first time user" it wasn't a bad induction to the world of nail treatments. read more
