So what I am about to say is a huge comment to the staff at Steven Professional Hairdressing. "I will be back!" Greeted with a warm smile and a beverage list (of the standard you would find in any cafe) I instantly felt a nice local, homely feel in this hairdresser. While I was getting my "do" done my hairdresser Joanna gave me some wonderful tips on how to maintain my cut, keep my locks shining golden and generally ensure I didn't count down the minutes until I could get out of the chair. I walked out with one of the best cuts I have ever had, including a $10 voucher for next time. Plus at the moment the salon (via their website) has 50% off your first cut and blow dry - that's only $32.50! Even if you're not as fickle as I, I encourage you try!

They saw my hair, took pity on me and within a couple hours, George and team had corrected the horror on my head and replaced it with everything I originally had wanted from the first hairdresser. In fact, he remembers pretty much everything about me. My trouble at the time was I'd make an appointment at a salon and when the time came, junior was either having a sleep or a really bad day. The drop-in nature of Louie's means you can pick a day and time that suits you (ahem...your child) and just rock up. He's open from around 9.30 to 4.30 or 5, depending on the day, and Saturdays by appointment. There are six chairs for waiting customers and it's around 10 minutes per person. If there are two or three waiting, I'll stick around, four and I'll come back another time. Kids warm to Louie and having sons of his own, he's very comfortable with them. It's $18.50 for boys and men. Slightly less for pensioners. Slightly more for a full scissor cut. It's a pretty basic setting - there's a water fountain and TV with Foxtel and if you ask nicely, he'll usually switch it to the cartoon channel to keep your kid entertained while he goes about his business. Barber on Unley comes highly recommended.

I came into fon salon exactly 1 week ago and requested a half head of colour, This is my first time…read moreat your salon and I was seen too by a young brunette girl who I'm sorry I can't remember the name of. I requested a dark cool brown colour to cover up a light reddish/ brown "banding" of colour across my roots that didn't quite match the rest of my hair. The hairdresser assured me this would be easy to cover and fix up. Throughout, my colour service I noticed the minimal amount of product that this hairdresser was applying to my head and how often she was missing sections of my roots and haphazardly applying the product. Towards the end I noticed that she had no product left in the bowl and instead of topping the hair dye up she just continued to brush the hair dye brush through sections of my uncoloured roots. There were multiple strands of hair that had fallen over my face throughout this time which she did not apply colour too. I also requested a half head of colour also and she only applied product 2cm from my roots. I didn't mention anything at the time as she told me she would emulsify the product down my roots but didn't. When I left the salon and looked at my hair in good lighting my hair is so incredibly patchy and she so clearly has not applied enough product to my hair, I have had many people comment on how patchy the crown of my head is. I'm extremely disappointed at this, and feel that this the worst salon colour I have received.
