Soho always seems to be busy but I've never had to book. I can usually walk in and within half an hour my hair will be getting sliced, but often straight away. In terms of service, they are quite friendly and helpful considering their Rundle St location and high-end style. The prices are not that bad either. Walking in, you are greeted with a smile and directed to the waiting area with comfy sofas and a selection of magazines to flick through. Then, the hairdresser that is going to cut your hair will approach you and sit down to discuss what you want done. This can be a slight shock to first-timers as it can feel a little in your face and like a job interview. Your belongings are then safely stored in a locker, while you get your hair washed and head massaged. There is also a widescreen television so you can watch MTV (although who would want to watch TV while getting a massage?) My hair has always come out looking good (if I do say so myself) and I've never had any disastrous experiences here. They did have student discounts, but, like most other hairdressers they can get a bit carried away by their own creative flair and end up styling your hair the way they think it should look, not the way you asked for it.
