Let me start by saying the technician does a fantastic job and I have been going there for over a year. I have really contemplated about writing this review but I feel like I have to say something - first, I have never seen the tools being cleaned before uses. I was told the tools were cleaned with the alcohol pads but I have never seen or smelled any of those being used. Second, and I think this is the bigger problem - the technician often takes long pauses between lash applications, and I can hear her using her phone. This usually results in much longer appointment time than it needs to be. Obviously I don't like that but I also feel uncomfortable saying something to her because it feels like I'm confronting her. I've just sucked it up all this time until one day, she just left me on the table for more than 5 minutes because she was taking pictures of some stuff that she was selling. It felt very disrespectful and that really pushed me over the edge, after overlooking the hygiene issue all this time. I came here for the first time about one week ago after two past experiences of mediocre lash extensions at other salons. I appreciate the clear direction on getting there and the owner was kind and Informative for the whole process. I've never gotten lash extensions before, but I saw an offer in Pulsd that convinced me to buy them impulsively. $49 for natural looking extensions? Sure, why not? When I spoke to Ki on the phone, however, it turns out that the Pulsd offer was wildly different than what was advertised. Allure Lashes doesn't offer half-sets in their normal services, and the $150 value quoted for the $49 half set was actually far less, but I'll get to that later. When I arrived, Ki examined my lashes and said that since I had relatively sparse lashes, the half set would be sufficient for me and they would continue to offer it to me as a courtesy due to the confusion over the Pulsd voucher. He walked me patiently through the entire process, and talked through all the options (type of curl, width of the individual lashes applied, distribution of lashes, length of the lash, and type of lash). I ended up opting for the natural premium lashes because they're more lightweight I have very thin lashes ($19 more than my original $49). He struck a great balance between personalizing the recommendations to me and steering me away from options that haven't made customers happy in the past. Alina, who applied my lashes, was very gentle throughout the whole process. I also absolutely LOVED the music at the salon; it was all new to me, but I would totally listen to that playlist on a regular basis. The facility was small, intimate, minimalistic, soothing, beautiful, and clean. I actually fell asleep quickly and was amazed to wake up with beautiful lashes. I had been a little nervous after Ki told me that they would be very thin and very natural looking - would there be a noticeable difference? There definitely was, and they were perfect - long and beautiful, great for everyday and special occasion wear, but not so dramatic as to look unprofessional. I was surprised when Ki told me that the half-set natural premium price that he would give me was $87.50 - far less than their minimum offerings, which was great, but only a $20 (22%) discount off the price. It's not their fault that Pulsd advertised the $49 lashes to be a $150 value, and I guess it wouldn't have qualified for the 30% off first customers since they generally don't even offer the half-set. In any event, I'd be happy to pay $87.50 (+ $20 tip) for these lashes again. /end review for Allure Lashes /start review for first time lash extensions That said, I had no idea that I would need to change my makeup regimen completely. When speaking with Ki, he recommended water-based mascara, which made sense, but that night I put on my usual Kat von D waterproof eyeliner and it was a total mess to take off. I actually removed several lashes by accident, which was really sad. After a lot of googling, I realized that I needed oil-free/easy-to-remove eye makeup and oil-free makeup remover, none of which I had at home. Thankfully, these lashes are pretty enough that I can walk around pretty bare-faced (just some lip balm and moisturizer as opposed to my usual eyeshadow, eyeliner, and mascara routine). In the future, I would 100% come back to Allure Lashes to get lash extensions for a special occasion. This made sense for the next 4-6 weeks since I was going to be in a bridal party, going on vacation, and celebrating the holidays. Unfortunately, I don't think this fits within my everyday (limited) beauty needs. I wake up with more eye goop than usual and I have to be ultra careful with my facial cleanser whenever I remove any eye makeup, which means it doesn't actually save any time for me overall. I do love walking around outside bare-faced, so we'll see how I feel about a few more weeks of this. read more

Got my custom lashes done at Allure Lashes NYC and feeling extra pretty! I have been to numerous cheap eyelash salons with huge disappointment because they usually damages my eyes and lashes together. Also I did not like the "clumped" strip lash look that they uniformly put on to every customers. Now I know that I can get lashes AND keep my eyes/lashes healthy (besides you get to learn which design and length best suits you!) It's super lightweight so I feel like I don't even have them on. I have also been to couple "premium" lash salons. Results were pretty, but they usually lack the customization (usually they explain it is the best quality lashes you can get in the market, and thats it) and most importantly, SUPER expensive... I can't afford to spend 300$ for a set of lashes although it is pretty. Allure lashes definitely provide the quality and the price. Compare to the 300$-500$/set lash salons, I think they did the exceptional job at more than half of the typical premium salon price. Also the owner is an expert in eyelashes - come in for a consultation, and you will be hooked right away just by the fact that they know so much about eyelashes and how personal they are to each clients. They even tell you to USE oil based makeup (which other salons tell you not to) because the adhesive is medical grade, waterproof and oil proof. All makeups are oil based, and I want to be able to go to pool/beach parties with my lashes on. This is something I never heard of from other lash salons. I will update in details when I go to a pool party in Vegas in a week I would definitely come back for my next set (despite how much I hate lying down and not moving for an hour ) the photo is after a day, with 2 workouts and hot shower. read more

Let me start by saying this the staff here is excellent and very accommodating. The facility is very clean and relaxing. I had only done falsies at eyebrow places that are $30 for clumps of 3 lashes at a time or full strip ones and those only last 1 - 2 weeks and looked really fake and was painful. So for my birthday I decided to splurge and try Allure lashes after finding them on yelp. Super easy to book and they had a birthday/first customer special so I paid $140 plus $40 tip for dramatic natural lashes. The technician was great and it was a soothing drama free event. They were so nice to accommodate me as I was 20 min late. She put the lashes one by one. No pain, didn't even notice them there. Whole thing was a little over an hour and a half. At first, I was a little disappointed that they looked so natural because again all I had had before were the strips/clumps but I wanted these to last longer and they said the more natural, the longer they last. The next morning I noticed that my lash extensions did not extend out each eye evenly. Again, they were very accommodating and I came in the next day and they fixed it in 5 min and I was off to my bday party that night feeling and looking good! Unfortunately it is now 1 week out and the right eye has a few just hanging by every inch of it's life and the left eye is still looking good. I think that part of the reason is I am a stomach sleeper and sleep on my right cheek. I think my right eye rubs a lot on my pillow at night more so than the left. Still, I'm so sad they are gone after only a week and also now I'm starting to look a little crazy as the left side is still pretty full. I'm not sure I want to spend the money to upkeep since it will be $85 now since I'm about 9 days out but I will give them a call and see if they will give me a deal to fix just the one eye. read more

I love my lashes. I travel to Allure from South Jersey every few weeks just to have my lashes done. I trust them completely. The first time I went there I was afraid and they were so kind to me. Ki explained that the lash extensions that I received in Miami were too long and too heavy for my natural lashes and that too much glue was used. (Allure removed my Miami lashes). Now that they are applied properly, I see the difference. I get tons of compliments. (Allure uses some sort of surgical glue that I do NOT have an allergic reaction to. The lashes stay on really, really well.) I could just settle and get them done in Philly. Nope! The reviews for the places in Philly are mixed (sketchy). Allure always starts on time. I decided to get lash extensions because I was going to Thailand for my honeymoon and didn't want to deal with wearing make up since it's so hot there. I booked my appointment through Yelp for the Dramatic 2D lash set. When I got there, I had a consultation with Ki (I think he's the owner). He was very thorough and informative. He advised me not to get the Dramatic 2D set, since it was my first time getting lash extensions and it may be too heavy for me. He talked me down to Dramatic Premium (which is $50 cheaper than 2D), and customized my set to have two different curl shapes. Now I was nervous about the process, because I have very sensitive, easily irritated eyes, and I was also recovering from an allergic reaction on my eyelids from the week before. However, the process couldn't have went smoother! Kris was my technician, and she was amazing! At the beginning, I felt some slight irritation in one eye, and she immediately fixed the problem and made sure I was at ease. They were playing some nice soft music in the background, and I almost fell asleep at one point but I think I was too nervous/excited to let myself sleep. Once she completed her work, I couldn't feel the lashes at all, I just kind of saw the ends of the lashes when I'd look up. I was worried that they weren't going to be dramatic enough but when she handed me the mirror, I was shocked! I couldn't believe she got all those lashes attached and I couldn't feel a thing - they looked amazing! It has now been over a month and the last of my lashes have almost all fell out. This place is amazing. I wouldn't go anywhere else for lashes in NY. I got my lashes done for my wedding, and it was my first time ever having lash extensions, so I was a little nervous. I tried it out about six weeks before my wedding date, and after my first appointment my left eye got really irritated and red. There was a red spot there for a full week after the appointment! I had no idea that could happen and was anxious about it, but Ki checked in with me every day following the appointment until it went away. Since my eye didn't hurt, it wasn't a health problem, so I think some glue just got into it during the session. Ki made sure I was okay and constantly checked up on me, which made me feel reassured. For my next appointment, he also made sure that my eyes were protected from any glue getting in them. I really don't think any other salon would go to these lengths to make sure their customers are comfortable, satisfied, and safe. Fortunately, my next two appointments went well and my lashes looked great! They were so beautiful and natural-looking, but dramatic enough for the wedding. The first time, Ki recommended a style that was a bit more dramatic than I wanted, so we changed it to something more natural for the next appointments, and it was perfect. I loved having my lashes done so that I didn't have to put on eye makeup every day, and if it weren't so expensive I would get them done here all the time. I decided to try Allure Lashes based on all the raving reviews. I had lash extension done in Taipei and was hooked on how convenient it was. Allure Lashes isn't cheap and the cost definitely reflects a premium. But saving time costs money so I decided to give it a try. I had initially intended to get the natural essential set. When I came in for my first appointment, Ki gave a very thorough consultation and explained the range of options. I decided to upgrade to the premium set (one above essential). The lashes felt really soft and he explained that the light weight (hollow) design allows the lashes to stay on for longer more comfortably. He helped me choose the C curve as I am only capable of choosing between two options (three options for some reason really screws with my brain) The service lasted two hours, which is longer than I expected. Throughout the whole time, I didn't feel the slight of discomfort. In fact, I was so comfortable I slept through most of it. Ki and his staff went the extra mile for comfort. There was a soft blanket and even cushion under my knees! After two hours, I came out with natural looking, gorgeous lashes. The lashes held up. Unlike other lash extension I had gotten, I didn't have to keep my eyes dry for a long period of time (who can manage to keep their lashes dry for 24 hours??!). For more than two weeks, most of the lash extension stayed in tact through multiple sauna sessions, a tropical vacation, gym sessions and vigorous face-washing. I came in for a two-week refill today and was just as satisfied with the refill. This will likely become an expensive habit. Overall, I highly recommend Allure Lash if you are looking for lash extensions. They give 30% off for first time customers and if you book a refill at the same appointment, you get 15%. Yes it is still expensive but the quality is with the premium you pay. I will have to find savings elsewhere. read more

I highly recommend Allure Lashes. I bought the 2D package through Gilt City. I sent an appointment request through Yelp and got a response within 10-15 mins. During my appointment, Ki, the owner, was extremely welcoming. He took the time to explain the product and ensure I was comfortable. He was very knowledgeable about his competitors and the products that they use. He only uses the best of the best and does not charge more than his competitor despite using expensive products. He explained that my lashes were very fine and recommended a size and shape for me. Chris, the top technician, worked on my lashes and made me feel very comfortable and didn't rush. Final product: The lashes were not as full as I had them in the past with another technician from a competitor (despite me getting 2D - I probably could have stuck with a natural set) but I think it's because I had very fine lashes and chose a different shape than I am accustom to. I usually do cat eye so there are more lashes in the front and end of my lash line which gives an illusion of it being fuller. However, I do have to say that the quality of the lashes and glue are amazing - it's been a week and I lost a few lashes but no irritation. They feel very natural and light. 5 star rating for this place is no joke! The studio (salon?) is clean and spacious. Ki walks you through which eyelash curl/length to get, and especially as a first timer my friends and I were able to make a decision we were all happy with. I didn't want my lashes to be too dramatic the first time and was worried they'd turn out looking too crazy, but they looked super natural and had the perfect amount of curl to make a difference. My technician was very meticulous and after I was done and wanted some adjustments made to a couple of my lashes she spent time trimming to make sure they looked exactly like what I wanted. As Ki says, oil based products are totally fine on these lashes and I use my normal makeup remover to take off shadow/liner I might have on for the day. No need for mascara as your lashes pop without! I barely put on eyeliner and I'm usually pretty religious about it. The staff is all professional and helpful and it's been 3 weeks since I've gotten them done and they're still in good shape. Will return! P.S. the elevators to the studio are confusing. You really just have to ring the bell and wait for it to come down, don't bother with the stairs as it doesn't connect to Allure. read more

I have been to so many salons for lash extensions but this is by far the BEST that I've been to. Elina was my lash technician. She was friendly and sweet! She asked if I needed to go to the restroom before she began and also asked if I wanted a blanket when I laid down. I waited for a month to write this review. 3 weeks after my first appointment, my lashes are still pretty full and look natural. After 2-3 weeks, the lashes start to fall out. But if you do not want refill, the lashes still look fine. Over a month, l went back for to the salon and same great experience with Elina. I also have very few lashes towards the inner corners of my eyes and it is really difficult to get the lashes on there, but Elina was super patient and meticulous. The entire process was about a little over one hour and not much of the wait time. This place gives you some discount for revisit and I would definitely recommend Elina to my friends and family. The service from the receptionist (Ki) to the aestheticians employed there is A+++ Definitely a place to check out if you want to get your eyelashes done for the first time or as a regular! They last awhile and the workers there will speak with you so your new eyelashes are amazing (: I have now gotten my eyelashes done a few times here and every time was relaxing and comfortable. I waited a week to write this review to be sure but I pretty much knew from jump I was giving 5 stars. I called before purchasing the Gilt certificate b/c I wasn't sure which package to choose. Ki answered and introduced himself as the owner and explained to me the differences of all the packages. He didn't try and up sell me on a package that was unnecessary and scheduled the appointment for me immediately even though I hadn't purchased it yet (FYI I got the premium mink). I got an immediate email confirmation. A few days before the appointment I got a reminder email and the day before a reminder text with instructions on locating the business. The day of I was running late (15 min) and they texted me right as I was entering to see if I was still on my way. Ki introduced himself in person and apologized profusely as they were also running behind. Because I was sweating like a NYC marathon runner from rushing from west side to east side he gave me a little electric fan to cool down and some sparking water & a small bottle of Poland spring. The interior looks clean, bright, and welcoming. He sat down with me and explained how their lashes are superior than all the other places (hahaha) and then we discussed the curl, length, and style of what I wanted. He also made sure to offer the bathroom before I went into the back for the service. While waiting I heard him take a phone call from someone I could tell was being difficult but he was so nice and accommodating. I met Chris who did my lashes. She was very nice. She made sure I was comfortable, I was given a blanket and promptly fell asleep. But prior to I recall how delicate she was with applying everything (thankfully they do not use any tape etc to pull your eyelids back!). I woke up and she was essentially done. I took a look and they were perfect, I paid the tax, tipped, and left. When I left I didn't even feel like I had just gotten my lashes done! They were/are so light, I had no irritation, and no smell or stinging. Ki also told me they could get wet immediately and a couple of hours later I did wash my face regularly and had no problems. The first time I noticed a lash fall out wasn't until 4 days later and then not again until 2 days later and a couple today. FOUR in total. AND, unlike other lash places my natural lashes aren't being pulled out with them. Let me tell you, I have allergies and with spring finally starting I've been tearing up lately and aggressively rubbing my eyes unconsciously and then when I realize I panic and stop and I sleep rough with a eye mask but these lashes ain't going nowhere! I just brush them back straight and it's all good. I've never received so many compliments on my lashes, even my friends who aren't into makeup/lashes/hair have said something. I've noticed people don't even originally realize they aren't my natural lashes, one of my friends said yesterday looks like I used some really good mascara. The customer service combined with the quality of the product this is a well earned 5-star rating. Like 5 star + And the price is good considering it's on par with other places though being far superior (Ki was right) even better with the Gilt deal. I'm thrifty AF but I may even pay full price next time I'm vacationing and want my lashes done. Thanks Ki and Chris!
