Alluem has been my mental/emotional haven since I started here. As a grad student doing her rotations, life is hectic and time for my mental/emotional growth is limited. I have fought to make sure I am here at least a few times a week, and I am grateful every time I am able to follow through for myself. Because of my erratic schedule, I am likely to show up at any class time which means that I have seen/experienced a number of different instructors for different class levels, and I have enjoyed each and every one. Every one has been kind and helpful and extremely patient. When you walk in, you are greeted at the door by whoever is working the desk for that shift. The vibe is relaxed and mellow and you just feel like you're in a safe space, which is so necessary sometimes. There are cubbies on the left to leave your personal belongings and shoes, and then you can enter into the actual studio. There are mats, blocks, towels, blankets, etc. for you to use so you never have to feel unprepared and you are always able to have a full experience. And if ever you cannot make it in person, they have virtual classes available, as well. Overall, thankful to having found this place and looking forward to utilizing my membership as much as I can. Only thing I will warn about is the parking. Sometimes, it can get crowded/tight, but there is plenty of street parking available in case you want to avoid that. I must say, I had a cranky review up that I took down. I was frustrated with the amount of people in a class in this busy studio. After expressing this - the owner called me (Gina) and took the time to discuss options. Just having her be genuinely concerned was a breath of fresh air! I appreciated the options and one of them was in fact, activated within a half hour of the phone call. I felt heard - cared about as a person and understood. In this time of war and uglies i needed to stress the good and acknowledge that this too can happen. Love the location, teachers, and genuine yoga behavior that happened today! read more

Overdue for a review. Initially, absolutely loved this place! Really looked forward to classes here and learning about yoga. But, after attending there a number of years, realized I was continuously at "Beginner" level. There was no transitional classes to assist to get to the regular Flow level. The intermediate classes didn't help at all. Backwards advice of "Do what you can" as you flounder in Flow. While watching show offs do Olympic Sport yoga. Oh well, standard yoga studio around this way. Wish them all the best. But not for me. read more

I've been to around 8 different yoga studios in New Jersey and I can finally say I've found the perfect place to practice. The location is gorgeous, as its situated right on the lake and the rooms are open and vibrant. What makes this place special? Their instructors. I have to say, I've never had an instructor as warm, knowledgable, and just more amazing than Gina. My first class with her brought me back to another and now I just feel so empowered every time I step into Alluem. They've truly captured the essence and beauty of yoga in this studio. read more

My boyfriend and I came here for the first time on 12/3/15 as first time customers and also as beginners to yoga. We had a great experience and wouldn't change a thing. The location is a beautiful Mill right on the river and the atmosphere is very calm and relaxing. The woman at the front desk was warm and welcoming and the yoga instructor was very fun and helpful (I think her name was Melissa). You can rent a yoga mat for $1 (we haven't bought ours yet). Just note that the parking lot may be full but it was very easy to find a spot across the street. If your a beginner and a little intimidated about getting started, this is definitely a nice place to start! read more

Alluem is the most relaxing studio I've ever been to! There's no mirrors in the studio. Some people like mirrors, I prefer without so I can focus more on "feeling" the pose correctly instead of looking at myself and feeling self-conscious. I've been going to the studio for some time, and have tried many different classes and instructors, so if you don't love one class with a certain instructor, don't write the studio off completely! Try a different class with a different instructor. Also, for beginner classes, make sure to get there early to get a good spot! read more

During our national lock-down period, Alluem Yoga has made the best of the situation. They are offering virtual classes via Zoom. It has been wonderful to connect with the instructors and fellow classmates during our period of self-isolation. I really enjoy this place. Exactly what I would hope a yoga place to be. Clean, quaint and very reasonably priced. It's situated right on the river so it's an adorable location. I went to a popular class on a Sunday morning. It was crowded but you didn't really notice. Definitely reserve a spot ahead of time though and get there a little early so you can grab your spot. Had my first class here last night and I loved it. Set in a really beautiful location and a pretty studio. The class was great and everyone was welcoming. As another reviewer pointed out, they don't have a mirror in the studio which I prefer. It's less distracting and I can focus more on my form rather than how I "look" and feeling self conscious. I love the vibe here. It's a historical mill so it's rustic inside. It doesn't have bright lights and mirrors like other studios, so you can really relax and focus on your breathing and really get into your shavasana at the end of class. I love doing yoga to music so I really love Rock Yoga on Fridays with Melissa Kaban, she is fun and does hand on alignments. Perfect class for a Friday night. Every teacher I've come into contact with here are very friendly and relaxed, it makes you feel very welcome. read more

This is the best studio I have ever been to. All of the instructors are excellent -- each with their own style -- all caring, experienced and able to offer individual attention in a group setting. This place is absolutely beautiful!! The staff and teachers are super friendly, helpful, and fun. I took rock yoga, and it was amazing. It was a combination of classic vinyasa with a rock n roll twist. Very fun!!! The studio is so cozy and comforting. I will definitely be purchasing a membership package! I go to plenty of yoga studios, but this one takes the cake! The ambiance, the instructors and staff are all warm - loving and true to the cause of yoga. So many studios go for the business vibe of it, but here you will find you focus on inner peace and love. They support local business and entrepreneurs to the cause, are very active in the community and truly make you feel like family here. Reasonably priced, and cheaper then other studios in the area. And a lovely practice hearing the river that runs right behind the studio :) no complaints and have been going here on and off for 2 years! Also they run a great kids program run by Karen! read more
