Compared to a convenience shop near his hometown, this Stripes in Hobbs, NM sells it for considerably cheaper. Nearly half the price at $35.45. There is quick friendly service at the register. Tap pay works with credit cards. There is a Phillips 66 gas station available. Parking is free with plenty of space out front or on the sides. Maybe someday soon I'll get up the courage to try their Laredo Taco Company which is inside all Stripes stores...

This Allsup's is an optimal choice for fuel and convenience shops needs when in Hobbs, NM…read more It's in a decent area on the Lovington Highway. The gas station by Alon has several pumps with a separate diesel area for the bigger rigs. It's well-lit at night. The staff members on July 28, 2024, were friendly and working hard. Easy to get in and out of with trailers in tow. Fuel prices that day: Unleaded (87 octane) = $3.04 Unleaded Plus (89 octane) = $3.34 Super Unleaded (91 octane) = $3.64

During working hours, there is someone from whom to flag down and buy propane.

He smarted off and said, they are all being used. 5 min later, slowing moving employee came out and started cleaning the showers from previous users. This is a rather desolate part of the country so there's no shade in the lot and there's not much to be done about that. The store is clean and tidy. The restrooms were quite well cared for. They have a free internet here that worked reasonably well which is great because I was not getting very good coverage on my hotspot. [Review 17433 overall - 47 in New Mexico - 951 of 2022.]

Zia Natural Gas is my hometown supplier for homes & businesses…read more This company continues to have my business not only because there is no alternatives, but because of the service I've received this year in addition to several years in the past. Earlier this year, I had a leak in my line that ran from my house to my gas meter. I freaked out, but I knew the first step was to call Zia. I dealt with at least five different Zia employees which ranged from a receptionist to a couple of different technicians who came out to my house. Every single Zia employee was respectful and made me feel at ease about the process I need to go through to get my situation resolved. On another note, it was equally easy to set up my account and it has been relatively easy to pay my monthly bill. I only wish that they would not charge a fee every time I want to pay online through my bank account. If it's an automatic draft, then, why should I being charged a fee for that?

This Allsup's review is mainly for the consistently good service that I get…read more The employees usually greet me when I walk in. If not, it's because they are swamped. At the register they are friendly and fast. I'm usually here to pick up a case of beer or lotto scratchers for my kids when they make good grades. Oh, and their 10-lb. bags of ice. The last one I got was under $2.50. Also, this is the cheapest gas on this side of town. The lowest I've seen it within about a year's time was back in December 2022 at $2.98 per unleaded gallon. The self-serve Alon gas station itself is fairly large. Diesel is available in both the car area plus there is a separate area for big rigs. Nearby is a decent park called Del Norte Park with a dog park on the east side. I said decent. It's gone downhill a bit, but I still walk my brother's dog there. Also next door is a car wash with self-serve stations, two drive-thru automatic stations, and a dog wash area. There really needs to be more cross walks in this area for the influx of pedestrians. So be careful of jaywalkers!

There were only four pumps at this Exxon gas station if I recall correctly…read more My pump was sluggish. The pump on the other side of mine was out-of-service. What a travesty when that happens. Regular unleaded was $3.50 per gallon on 9/12/2023. This is oil and gas country yet we still pay some of the highest rates in the Southwest. While it's not the cheapest fuel in town, it's fairly competitive. There was no window cleaning fluid or squeegee. Trash cans were available, though. I don't even think diesel is offered here. An air pump station is nearby if your tires are low. I always see folks stopped there on the daily. At night, it seems well-lit. Just down the street are the Hobbs sheriff's offices. I often see the local police patrolling this area too. It's just not my go-to fuel station. TIP Fun fact of the day: ExxonMobil is for at least one more year the main sponsor of the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta.

On February 21, 2024, fuel by Alon was $2.90 for unleaded, $3.20 for unleaded plus, and $3.50 for super unleaded. The unleaded here is 87 instead of 86 octane which is at most pumps here in Hobbs, NM. My Jeep manual recommends 87. Big rigs have a separate fueling area on the north side that is accessible from two different entrances. The convenience store has all the basic necessities and the staff members are decent.
