This Farmer's Agent negligently did not add a vehicle to our policy when he added our daughter to…read moreour existing policy. We called him with the VIN number, make, and model of her car and asked him to put LIABILITY ONLY on her vehicle. He quoted the insurance with her added to our policy and we thought it was a good rate. We paid for insurance from September 2016 to December 2016 with his agency and the entire time he did not add her vehicle. She had an accident in December and when we called him he said he had no record of her vehicle. We certainly would not have added her to our policy without adding her automobile. He denied ever receiving the information about her car and yet he added her when we called and gave him the information on her car and asked for liability only on it. Our other car is a family van and she would never have driven it and we would not have asked for liability only on it since it was new that year. My daughter, who was 17 at the time of the accident, is being charged as an uninsured motorist due to the agent's negligence and faces fines, suspended license, tickets and a claim of over $22K against her. Since she was only 17 they are also trying to suspend my license and the other driver's insurance company has issued a collection for the more than $22,000 against my credit. We paid for insurance for months and he had never turned in her vehicle information to the company. We are being told by Farmers that we have no recourse and he keeps stating he has no recollection of these events. I might lose my job if they suspend my license on August 2 and we have no way to pay the money because the other driver's insurance made it impossible for me to get a loan when they put a $22,000 collection on my credit. This agent is negligent at the very least and possibly fraudulent! He has a policy set up for when he makes an error as he did in this case and refuses to use it, instead ruining our daughter's college career and our family's livelihood. Without a job we could end up homeless We want him to use his agency's errors and omissions policy to rectify the situation that he caused by paying the claim to other driver's insurance. He was negligent and possibly fraudulent.
