Progressive has been steadily increasing my auto premium over the past 5 years. I've continued to…read morepay the bi-annual increases without complaint. I've never filed a single claim with them over the past 5 years. This month, due to fraudulent activities, I canceled one of my credit cards. I did not realize that this was the credit card I had on file with them. When the autopay failed, they immediately added a $30 surcharge to my bill and downgraded my rating, even though I made the payment the very next day when I received the alert. I was upset and shopped around for a new policy. Today, I canceled my 5-year auto and home insurance with Progressive. I saved a whopping 65% with my new auto policy and 17% with my new home insurance policy. I voted with my dollar, and they lost another customer. I highly recommend not sitting back and simply accepting their annual premium increases. Shop around for better rates.
