Matt followed up my email almost immediately and then gave me a call also. I was overwhelmed with how honest and helpful he was. Matt gave me great advice on what to do for my business, and even told me that honestly he didn't believe they were a good fit for my business given my finances. Matt told me outright that he figured it wasn't worth it to hire them given my situation and their cost. I greatly appreciated him telling me the truth rather than just taking my money. The advice he gave was sound also, he spent probably 30-45 minutes without charging me anything to give advice for programs to use, simple ways to integrate programs, and even pointed me at another accountant who might be more inline with what I need. Even though I didn't end up working with them I would recommend them based on their honesty alone.

After giving up on small operators and local folks I went on a journey (google) to find someone who knew what they were doing and I am so glad found the SLC team. I was concerned that they were out of state but that turned out to be a non-issue. The set up process was long and complicated and you should know you are in for a very thorough experience when you hire them. The fees are daunting to a company my size but it is the best investment I have made in my business. They started from scratch and built my QB on line that is correct and detailed and I can feel confident that not only is my data accurate for tax purposes but I am finally able to leverage the historical data to forecast for growth and avoid costly future mistakes. Derek is one of the most amazing people I have ever encountered. He has been my savior through the entire process. He is part time cheerleader, occasion stern father figure and continuous advocate for me and my business. I would not be in the position to even ask for forecasting without his efforts. This is the most confident and comfortable I have ever felt about my business financials and the SLC team deserves much of the credit.

I am so glad I found Brian Horne! I found him through positive online reviews and also my mom…read morerecommended him based on a friend's recommendation. I met with him yesterday and I was so relieved to have such a knowledgeable resource that is so affordable! I have been paying accountants piles of money to do my S-Corp and personal taxes each year, some of them charged me $200 a month, some $500 a month, get I still felt like I was on my own and I still was making pretty obvious mistakes without them stepping in (not paying myself, for instance). Brian would have none of that. He is very experienced and has a lot of integrity, he clearly wants to help people out with the knowledge he has gained over the years rather than try to scale up and choose the money over the clients. The accountants I have been working with were more entrepreneurs than accountants, which I can admire from some angle, but what I really want is an accountant who enjoys being an accountant and really takes pride in helping out their clients. Brian was exactly that, and I am super excited to have him in my court.
