I went to Allstate Commercial Driver Training School after carefully weighing my options for getting CDL-A training, I checked competing schools in the area and also various company provided training programs. I'm happy to say I made the right choice. ACDTS has a great program which is designed to provide the most benefit for your time and money. The one-on-one classes and flexible scheduling are perfect for those with busy work schedules. Most importantly, the instructors and staff at Allstate are knowledgeable and professional, but at the same time make it fun and inviting. They take what they do seriously, as they should. Safely driving an 18 wheeler is nothing to be taken lightly. Their dedication to getting you your CDL is beyond what I expected. One example was an instructor named Bobby, who knew I had some concerns about my shfting. On my test day, Sunday morning 7am in a downpour took me out on the road for one last practice run. It wasn't a scheduled lesson but he still took the time to come in early and make sure I got out on the road to get some last minute practice. This is just one example of many where the instructors and staff went above and beyond! I passed my CDL test the first time, and to be honest I don't think I would have done as well had I not gone to Allstate. Thanks to Tom in the front office for explaining everything and shepherding me through the medical/DMV paperwork and testing prior to classwork. Thanks to Chris and Scott in scheduling for keeping me on track and being accommodating when life happens. Great Training, Awesome trainers. Just over one year ago I attended Allstate CDL Training School. I was as green to the industry as it gets coming from 25 years of administrative work. The Rig, The maneuvers, The actual size was intimidating! But in my Heart I wanted change, The trainers knew how to keep me motivated and on point. They are very professional, and know what it takes to make each individual, with the passion and drive, become a great Professional Driver. They develop and build on your strength, while transforming and weaknesses into pure skill...... Trust and believe me I know. I passed my exam on the first attempt.. and yes I was nervous and yes it was with a state trooper. Following that I got an offer at Schneider National (which has the most demanding training program out there) with several weeks of training, tree shake and eliminations, I passed the program in the first attempt also. In no way am I glouting, the testing in both areas were very demanding. Allstate CDL training poised me and kept me focused to achieve goals within a short time frame and surpassed my personal wildest expectations (my 25 years was in management, I know goals, Deadlines, and expectations) and I am telling you They DO WHAT THEY SAY. You Bring the Will, We Give You the Skills (They should make that the new business model) As of 12/9/16 I Have been driving OTR for 1 full year with a clean safe record. I got my CDL A about two years ago from All State. Im a retired veteran who was using my GI Bill to go back to school. I sat down with the staff and they guided me through every step of the process. I suffer from some injuries due to my service, the staff never judged me once they were kind and considerate and helpful always checking on me and making sure I knew what to do next. I did the full 360 hr class and really got to know my instructors and build a good reputation with them. They took time to go over detail of the pre trips and even over things like drop and hook. They especially helped me to get my shifting downing pat up and down through the gears and how to really be comfortable in the truck. The instructors would vary up the routes with me so that way things weren't always predictable and it helped me to become a better driver. After I passed my cdl a the school continued to assist me and help out by weekly emails from Jessica on new job postings and such. She also called me a few times to see if I had a cdl job and how it was going and if I needed any assistance. Recently I have decided to shift from local work to over the road and the school has offered to have me come back in and take a quick refresher course to brush up before I go over the road. I recommend Allstate to everyone looking to get their CDL. From the first minute I called, this school has been organized, professional, and behind me every step of the way. There is no part of the process they do not prepare you for, and you will practice the pre-trip, the maneuvers, and the road route multiple times until you are comfortable. During the admissions process, they took the time to help me choose the best options based on my experience and my goals. I did all of my training in the Meriden location, and every single instructor was highly knowledgeable and focused on preparing me to pass my CDL test. The 1-on-1 instruction is the only way to train, and I cannot stress enough how much this will help you prepare for the skills test. It truly feels like a family; the instructors know your name and always check in to see how you are doing. Scheduling was very helpful, whenever I had a conflict they were able to resolve it quickly. They also offered me cancellation availabilities so I could get my training done sooner. The communication was excellent and they made sure I was aware of all my deadlines and paperwork requirements. I must say this school offers some of the best methods of training one on one, but I get over the fact that one instructor in particular should be fired immediately Walt! The man would make racist jokes about minorities while I was on the road with him not realizing that my wife is black. Not to mention he would yell bloody murder at me if I grinder gears in the least bit, I was constantly on edge with him as an instructor. was absolutely disgusted also looks like other people on here have the same complaint as me. When I discussed this with other instructors they said that management could care less and he was just a quote on quote "warm body". While I do agree with their ways of teaching that doesn't excuse who they hire to instruct people with all types of cultural backgrounds. read more

Listen, hands on from day ONE. 1st class I showed up for, was thinking ok, some classwork nonsense, not so! First week there, you're behind the wheel of a tractor trailer! Other schools? NETTS in particular, you're in a class room for weeks, what is the point of that? You came to learn how to drive, not read books. Allstate puts you behind the wheel on day one. I started class in April and was licensed by July, passed 1st shot! Jess, the job developer? A+++, just messaged her for any leads and she actually replied! Great school, hands on, super bang for your buck! Me? Class A, just got my hazmat, Tanker, and Doubles endorsement, had a great thing at New England Motor Freight, until they filed bankruptcy! They are not only just friendly and professional but the instruction you receive is A+. I was able to pass the state exam with confidence, on my very first attempt. This business is such a scam! Went there for class A, but instructor convinced me it'd be quicker to get the class B and I'd receive a refund. Not only did I not receive the refund, but I had someone from a debt collection agency pretend to be a lawyer and harassing me. Chris has been calling excessively, and unprofessionally as evidenced by all the swearing. If you want to be harassed and scammed than this is the school for you. read more

Awesome school all hands on 1 on 1 training I had Larry as my instructor he was very good and thorough i ended up requesting him to be my instructor for the rest of my classes this is the most prepared I have ever felt for a test thanks to him I would definitely recommend him for any one that is looking into getting a CDL he made it quick and easy and answered all my questions I ever had read more

This school is horrible and I really wouldn't recommend it to anybody. They lie a lot and are very unprofessional. They could care less if you get a CDL once they get some money and you sign a contract. The good reviews are not from actual students. I actually went there.
