I rent a 10 x 10 indoor heated unit and everytime that we access the area, the whole of the building is spotless! Wes and Danelle really keep the grounds and structure sanitary. Security at this location seems very good with cameras, locking gates and live-in care taker. I am very impressed with Sentinel Self Storage's Business and Customer Service in general. I was going to rent a self storage at the downtown Edmonton location and had used the on-line booking form to which I had put $50 down. I then changed my mind and went to the 136 Avenue Location. The Facility operator at the downtown location phoned me twice subsequently to ensure that I receive my $50 deposit back! I was astounded at their tenacity in making sure that I get my refund! Now that is what I call customer service! As well, there is no gouging with this company. Your contract to end the rental requests a 24 hour notice of vacancy, not the typical one month, etc., Otherwise you will be charged another month's rent. Sentinel's rental contract is easy to read and very to the point which I like and also gives you an understanding of the companies' respect to it's customer: no fine print or hidden or ambush maneuvers which crop up afterwards. Another bonus, they have a loaner vehicle that you can reserve to move your stuff, just book with some notice. There is no added cost for this service. Sentinel Self Storage is a wonderful and hassle-free company where you can rent a storage unit of all sizes and be assured that is is clean and pest free. The company has a very good web site that gives current information on monthly specials and availability for units at various locations.

On Dec 12 , 2024 I recieved a phone call from a police officer about our storage unit . This unit was at 14405 127 St, Edmonton, AB T6V 1M2 . We were informed our unit got broken into and had to open it with the police officer. The officer said the unit was broken into on November 28 2024. There was 7 units in total that were broken into at this location. The staff were Unapologetic , unprofessional and quite rude to my husband and I. We literally lost everything we owned. We are completely heart broken. We did not recieve a phone call about the break in for almost 2 weeks. All baby photos , family heirlooms and all our life possessions were stolen by another person renting in the same facility. The staff advised us that they knew our unit was opened by someone else as there was an alarm. They used their code to get into the facility and opened our storage unit. They did not call the police for 2 weeks. We did all the paperwork asked from the storage mart . We had our whole lifes in there. As we were moving to a new house . We had $64,500 of stuff stolen. The claims department only offered us $3,750. This Kimberly Kennedy said take it leave it. Your not getting anything more than that. The storagemart regional managers and risk management staff have not been helpful. We have been chasing them for over a 4 months now. We are completely frustrated. The regional manager ( Della) discussed with us that storagemart would cover our house insurance deductible. Our house insurance said its $500.00. We have not included that on the list of items. Our premium will go up next year due to this incident as well. We are deeply disappointed and saddened by the situation. We asked for a payment of good faith, along with a full reimbursement for our entire stay with the company ( 8 months) . April 20 ,2024 -December 18 , 2024. We are absolutely devastated and heartbroken by this situation. The emotional distress it has caused our family is unimaginable. Quite literally, our whole life was stolen from us. We've never experienced anything like this, and we are completely shaken. It is already difficult enough to move provinces, and for this to happen on top of that is overwhelming. We recently moved from Langley BC. We then went above this Kimberly Kennedy and spoke to one of the two risk management mangers for the whole company. Her name is Beka Doll. She took over a month to look at our case. Not replying to emails or phone calls in the meantime . We told her the regional manager told us we were covered up to 7,500 for the insurance on the unit. Beka Doll said they were not going to reimburse us for the entire time we rented there. Or give us the $500 deductible that was already discussed that they would cover. After her investigation she only came back with the same amount of $ 3750. We don't want this to happen to anyone else and I think it's really important that the community knows what's going on with this company. Seven units and seven families were changed in this. How can the staff not realize seven units alarms were going off and did not call the police for 2 weeks. It seems like an inside job, and the police have still not arrested the individual that was stealing from everyone. We are truly saddened and disappointed, and overall depressed about the situation. We want what we're owed to from this company. But they are straight scammers themselves. Hopefully you can bring light to this on the news and maybe it will help us and the other families. They actually acted like I was a person and not just a walking dollar sign. Being in the military, they had some special "Add-ons" for me, which was nice to see, as having to cancel at a last minutes notice is always a hassle, but they were willing to waive fees. Incredibly steep price increase and I honestly cannot support companies that gouge their customers so I'm out . The price at yellowhead storage is $85 a month and they give discounts for seniors or military and you're not forced to get insurance . I had been there for years previously and I do not recall a price increase. For 165 a month you can get a huge storage container.

I booked the truck to move out August 1, and was told today because I happened to call, that I cannot use it as it is not part of their policies. Not only are they not keeping commitments, but I wouldn't have known if I hadn't have called myself. I would have shown up August 1st to find out the bad news. They will loan you the truck to move in, but make it your own expense to leave - even if your original promises said otherwise. Terrible service.
