First, the house was more or less infested with mice, which was clear to almost every other contractor I have had in the house. When I had the oil burner maintenance done 1 month after moving in they said the oil tank was in such bad shape that they would not deliver oil until the tank was replaced. $4,700. Allen failed to note that there were three crawlspaces in the house. In each of the crawlspaces mice had ripped out the insulation and stored hundreds of acorns, leaves, and other debris. $5,000 to clean and reinsulate 2 of the crawlspaces. One of the other crawlspaces is visible but not accessible and all the plumbing and heating for the master bathroom runs through that crawlspace.

This was the first time I've ever needed an inspection and he was very patient explaining the whole process and what to look out for. He arrived early to the building and got right to it. While testing, he explained what he was looking for and what the tools he was using were doing. The report itself came super promptly that same afternoon (wow), and was easy to read through. There was a straightforward section at the top explaining how to read it and how the information would be displayed. Hyperlinks were throughout that made it easy to reference sections of information back and forth. I now have a very specific (but thankfully short!) list of concerns marked by level of danger/importance. Thanks so much Mike!

So we, of course, had zero idea of what to expect during the walk-through inspection (that was scheduled last minute.) Not only was Vinny incredibly accommodating, but he was also very communicative. He arrived early for the inspection, and as soon as I met him, I immediately felt comfortable with his calm and personable/welcoming demeanor. He was incredibly thorough throughout the whole process. Checked things I would never have thought to check and encouraged us to ask all and every question that came to mind. As soon as he'd see something that immediately concerned him or something that could potentially become a problem years from now, he'd voice his thoughts to us. Considering this is a new construction, we were a bit surprised with the amount of things that needed fixing--nothing serious, primarily cosmetic. The following day we received his report exactly when he said he'd send it. It was very detailed and also included photos of his findings. The report is straightforward and easy to comprehend, even for those of us with zero experience. And of course, this all transpired while adhering to COVID-19 guidelines.
