I had mistakingly thought it looked a bit outdated, but they've got some lovely, delicate looking rings for as little as a tenner, Ortak necklaces and an interesting collection of second hand gold charms. A lot of their styles will appeal to older generations, but there are contemporary pieces if you look hard enough. Marshalls is also a functioning store that polishes, mends, customises pieces and engraves on request. The business is a Jack of all trades in that respect, but for the casual browser there are both timeless, modern and unusual trinkets to suit a variety of clinetele.

Perhaps Charmed and Buffy saw that trend flying into my high school, and I distinctly remember my then best friend's room looking not unlike this shop. Shops like Enchantment are becoming fewer and further between, but it's nice that this one still does well. There are little pewter ornaments of delicate garden sprites, elves and fairies lining the shelves of this place, and dangling from the ceiling in abundance. If you're into pixies, healing stones and a touch of magic, then you'll like it. My mum likes ornaments like these and it's a great wee resource not too far from the Royal Mile if you're looking for an impish wee pressie. It's a nice change from seeing green ornaments in the shape of Loch dwelling monsters.

The jeweller is easy to find as it is right down in the town, with ample pay and display parking right outside. The maximum time to park is 1 hour however there is free parking not far along the road! The prices are reasonable and the staff are always very welcoming.

Again, this is a shop I avoid when my pocket's empty of dough. All their clothing is really colourful and has flowery girly patterns. About a couple of years ago (and yes, I do remember this), I flirted with the idea of buying this skirt for months upon months. But I was poor, so there. A lot of their clothes are made out of materials like hemp (their shirts are really really soft!). They sell bags out of that material too. The prices are actually not too bad, all things considered. I mean, most of their merchandise costs around 20 pounds, or maybe a bit over. Other stuff they sell: pillow cases and scarves, gloves and earrings. Definitely stop by if you're looking to put some more colour into your wardrobe.
