It is not a fancy place, but that should not be a priority, care should be #1. We were at a fancy vet office previously and their care and kindness were mediocre. The vet tech first checks your pet and determines a plan for the day. You could ask her anything and she will share her professional and personal experiences. She has several dogs and cats at home. You can clearly see and feel that all employees love animals. Dr Reuger took all the time that we needed in our visit, answered all our questions and was very professional and kind as a vet. The most recent visit we had with the new vet, Dr. Calhoun who also has these same qualities and in our first visit with him really got to know our dog. He reviewed every bit of the chart, asked us all relevant questions related to our dog care, and even suggested some new arthritis treatment for our senior dog. We had a cat about 11 years ago and we took her here also. They provided excellent care then and when she passed away at home, the care and compassion for our beloved Ralphie, still to this day, warms my heart. I almost don't want to post this review because I don't want them to get too busy and not be able to see us quickly if there are problems, but I have to share good news .

When we had to euthanize our beloved dog last September, a vet we'd never seen and a tech came in. No empathy whatsoever. I wasn't prepared for the howl of pain when they gave him the first injection, he had never let out a howl like that in his life. . That guilt has stayed with us to this day, it was needless. When our other dog was put to sleep with another vet they gave him an oral dose to put him in a deep sleep before injecting him and it was very peaceful. This still haunts us, he was such a good dog and part of our family. I thought it would be peaceful. For him. He didn't deserve pain as his last moment.

Months after the surgery she was having pain and swelling. Took her to our local vet and was told by the substitute vet she "was above his pay grade". Problem identified and meds provided that immediately provided her relief. That was great right? Well it gets better. I received phone calls from the vet tech and from the vet checking on my little earless girl. Above and beyond doesn't cover it. I have returned with another dog that my usual vet could not help. This vet figured it out. Got X-rays and gave me a game plan on what we could do next. Plain language with care. And every staff member I've spoken with has been kind, helpful and concerned. It's worth the drive to have all that. I realize people may have different experiences and I can't say that they were right or not. I can only say my experience was awesome. I don't want to have to go to the vet. But if I do this is where I will go.

Our dog has been dealing with diabetes for ~5 years and recently has begun having issues with his glucose spiking and going below minimums. Due to this Dr. Hayden Novicki suggested we put him on a glucose monitor and return to see him on Monday. Reschedule day to attend appointment, yet Dr. Novicki was nowhere to be found. Meanwhile, other doctor who was there, Dr. Mitkiff, refused to see our dog or even come out to chat about what we should do. Even though I was able to provide graphs showing his blood sugar was dipping into the danger zone. They suggest we move appointment to this morning to which we did for a virtual appointment. We logon to appointment- no Dr. Novicki. Nurse states he refuses to talk to us because he believes we aren't following his plan and to take our dog to medvet. In Summary- Dr. Novicki is by far the most unprofessional veterinarian I have ever met. I have never had a doctor refuse to even talk to a patient or pet owner. To take the stance that he is just done with our dog is unbelievable. I will be filing a BBB complaint and suing to have my pet plan membership charges refunded. I encourage any person checking these reviews to determine if they should go to this clinic to reconsider. For anything beyond standard check ups and teeth cleanings that they CONSTANTLY want you to pay for, other things don't seem to be their specialty. Constant referrals to Med Vet to spend more money will be in your future. The Vet that came in (not sure of her name by not Dr. Esposito) was very kind and compassionate to us. The rest of them could take a lesson from her. I'm not asking for anyone to cry but to be mindful of the circumstances of people around them and show some respect for those of us that are grieving and upset. It was a very cold experience. ZERO STARS While they are friendly and seem helpful BEWARE!…read moreI strongly advise getting a second opinion and a price quote before proceeding with any major testing or treatments at PetVet365 Florence, specifically with Dr. Carson. My experience here felt less about my dog's health and more about upcharging at every opportunity. During our visit, the vet stated her main concern was a potential thyroid issue and recommended the more expensive "send-out" blood work and urinalysis because it would allow them to "see more." When the results came back, I was told the only abnormalities were elevated cholesterol and liver enzymes, and they immediately pushed for an $800 abdominal ultrasound as the next step. (thyroid is in the neck btw but they wanted to scan the lower abdomen) Because we had just paid a massive bill for the initial testing and fees(almost 800), we paused on the ultrasound. When I explicitly asked what the blood work showed about his thyroid, I was shocked to find out that a thyroid panel was never actually run. Even though it was their primary concern, they excluded it from the expensive panel and then wanted to charge me an additional $78 to do it much later, completely ignoring the fact that elevated cholesterol and liver enzymes are classic signs of a thyroid problem. Meanwhile my dog is deteriorating fast and barely able to function at all and they knew this. To make matters worse, there was a completely unacceptable medication switch. Without clear communication, they swapped out the medication refill I specifically asked for through text for a significantly more expensive one. At this point it felt like a deliberate attempt to get more money out of us and there was really no excuse for this mistake as the meds were not even named close to the same and they had it in black and white so they didn't hear or see incorrectly. We immediately took our dog to a different clinic for a second opinion. This vet listened, ran the correct tests immediately, and definitively diagnosed his thyroid problem within 48 hours so she could start the right medication. The most shocking part? The next vet performed all the same tests--including the ultrasound and the specific thyroid test--for less than half of what Dr. Carson and PetVet365 were trying to charge us just for the ultrasound alone. If you go here, double-check your itemized bills, verify exactly what tests are being run before they draw blood, and do not be afraid to walk away and seek care elsewhere. *Also fyi if you keep searching on here you will find many such reviews that are just buried and I am sure they will give the standard response that sounds like they did the right thing as they did to the others that dared to call this out. I assure you they did not. Save your money and more importantly the life of your pet and go to another place.
