My original post is after my response to Adam's version.
Dear Adam,
I'm not surprised by the multiple false statements in your response. You want a good review and I can't give one. You don't deserve it.
Pretty much everything you stated has hints of truth. We were never given the option of a different time. You asked your secretary not to call us on Monday morning without an appointment. She did anyway.
We were more than accommodating with everything, weather included.
You stated that every attempt was made to keep us informed.
Absolutely not one bit true. I had to call to find out what was going on every step of the way. I have texts I can share if necessary.
The incomplete clean up - Once again you are refusing to hear what your customer is expressing.
WE HAD ALREADY CLEANED UP THE WOOD CHIPS YOU LEFT BEHIND WHEN YOU MADE THAT OFFER.
YOU are the one that REFUSED to come and see the amount of work your crews LEFT FOR US TO DO.
You also stated that "based on the pictures sent, my guys could have done a better job." The fact that you agreed that the crews could have done better and you were offering a crew to come back out indicates that the job wasn't completed.
Finally, I NEVER mentioned any amount we could spend. I stated that I thought it would be at least $5000. You have a way of creating your own narrative. Dishonest business man.
We paid to have 4 trees cut down and 8 stumps ground. It took over 1 week and the job was still not completed (a great deal of wood chips were left behind). Before a date was even agreed to, we got a phone call at 7:00 on a Monday morning telling us that the crew could come later that day. We were caught off guard because we were not prepared to have them come. The secretary was very pushy and I never felt like I had a choice. I was told it had to be now or we would have to wait a long time. That should have been my first red flag.
My husband had to leave work to come and take down a fence so they could access the trees. They came in the afternoon and cut down 1 tree and left due to the heat. They were late showing up the next day. I gave them gallons of cold water and apples to help with the heat. I even let one crew member borrow a cooler and ice packs to keep his lunch cold. They cut down the rest of the trees. They waited until the following week to bring loam and to clean up until after the stump grinding took place. I was told the stump grinding company would arrive at 7:30. At 8:30 I called Allied Tree and was told that he wouldn't be there until after 9:00. He ground 8 stumps. The Allied Tree crew arrived around 3:00 with the loam and left the truck in the yard without doing any work. They returned with another truck to remove the panels they asked to leave in our yard over the weekend. They put down the loam and cleaned up SOME OF THE WOOD CHIPS. One of the crew members said he would be back the next day to rake. He never showed up. I called Allied the next day and the secretary was not aware that the work was not completed. The following day one man came for about 30 minutes and moved the wood chips around but did not remove any. We were left with a very large section of the yard covered with wood chips that was at least 3-4 inches deep along with several piles around the yard. I sent pictures and a video to Allied Tree. My husband and I ended up cleaning it up ourselves. We filled over 20 wheelbarrows full of wood chips. The first time I texted Allied to express our concerns, I was ignored. The next day I tried to call and no one answered. When I finally spoke to the secretary she said they would send a crew out. I explained that we did the work ourselves and did not want any crews coming out again. She said she would have Adam come out and look at our yard. After a week waiting for Allied to communicate with us, I called and said we would like a refund for the $500 we paid for wood chip clean up. Adam refused. He said he offered to have a crew come out and we refused. I repeatedly reminded him that we had done the work already and no crew was needed, However, he refused to acknowledge my statements and would not come out to look at the amount of wood chips we had to clean up ourselves. He admitted that his crew could have done a better job, but would still not refund any of our $500. He kept referring to how much HE has to pay for the clean up rather than the fact that WE PAID $500 for a clean up that was NOT COMPLETED.
At every point of our experience with Allied Tree Service, the communication was lacking, inconsistent and unpredictable. I always felt like I was being pushed off or told something that was not accurate just to appease me. At no time did we feel like we were valued customers but more like an afterthought. The work was piecemealed, rushed and incomplete.
We were extremely accommodating and patient until we were told that Adam would not even come to look at the amount of work we had to do. read more
