I have had it with the horrible customer service this company provides - or more correctly chooses not to provide. If you are on the west coast, their hours of service are inconvenient at best. I am left with buying another really expensive unit that is at least 2x their competitor or buy the competitor. Why? Because their service people are incompetent. Several years ago we came home from visiting next door at around 10 pm to have our front door lock…read morecome apart instead of unlocking the door. We called these folks and they came right away. After getting us in the house and realizing the current lock had had all the fun it could stand, the young man quoted a reasonable price for a new digital lock (considering the time of night and the lock being in stock). He had to go back to the shop to get the new digital lock and then had to drill a bigger hole for the lock which was an adventure itself. It was well after midnight before he finished up and I certainly felt like the $300+ for everything was a bargain considering. That lock has worked wonderfully for us for the years since until recently when it either needs a new battery (which I have been too lazy to deal with) or something more complicated. Until I find the gumption to assail getting a new battery and replacing it, we have been using the key that came with the lock and the wife got tired of not having a key for her so I dropped in to get another key made. Nice fellow greeted me when I entered and about 5 minutes and $3.75 later I was headed back to my car. I have watched a passel of YouTube videos particular to our lock so I know that if the new battery doesn't solve the lock problem then I shall be removing the lock and bringing it to them to fix. The wife can stand guard at the house while I am gone. Meanwhile we both have a key to lock and unlock our front door. If you need a locksmith I can wholeheartedly recommend these folks. Just give them a call, day or night. ;-)

Repairs were conducted in a timely manner and the garage door works better than it has since I've been in this house! I used to work in Property Management and I was dreading several thousand dollars to replace the door entirely, but the repair was much more economical and (knock on wood) should last us a while longer, yet. So I spent considerable amount of time searching for a roofing company that was reliable and yet affordable. I contacted several such companies, regarding a new roof and skylight and McKeithan and Sons were the first to respond. I found the receptionist to be warm and helpful. Although we interviewed 2 other well-respected roofing companies, our experience just flowed very smoothly. The representative, Travis, was very informative, answered all of our questions, and we were impressed with his knowledge and genuine, helpful attitude. We were kept informed of the date and time the roofers would arrive, so their were no surprise knocks on the door! We recieved a contract explaining all the details within days of agreement. The men worked arrived at 7:30, and steadily worked hard until they got the roof completed by 5:30 PM. The workers were very polite and respectful. They cleaned up any and all debris and placed in a portable dumpster. The next day this dumpster was picked up and removed by 9PM. Later in the day,Travis arrived to inspect the roof, the surrounding yard, and found a couple of nails, in an odd place too hard for the roofer's magnets to locate. Such a thorough job. Now, this is what I'm talking about. Why can't we get this kind of service from other company/corporate services? Perhaps because McKeithen and Sons is family owned and is local and has 40 years of experience in serving the Tallahassee citizenry. shop local whenever you can.
