We tried every way we could think of to get it in the house and up the stairs ... not only was the item large and heavy ... it was also delicate and complicated to move, given its design, electrical wiring, motor and hydraulics. Clearly we were out of our league and needed help. It was 4:45 pm. on a Wednesday. We found On Call Moving's info online, called the number, and connected immediately with Jim. Jim was a Godsend! He was scheduled to be down the street from us, and made a quick trip to our home to see how he could help. Over the next few days he worked closely with Joleesa, at On Call's office, to get our job done. Despite On Call's extremely busy schedule, everything came together Friday afternoon. Joleesa called to get us in their system. Jim arrived with a three-man crew: Jesse, Sergio and Carlos. Everyone was super polite and respectful, professional, skilled at their job and well prepared, bringing clean moving blankets and securing tie downs. Jim, Jesse, Sergio and Carlos communicated with us and with each other calmly, clearly, thoughtfully and effectively. Together they got the job done safely and efficiently ... most importantly, with no injuries ... and happily, with no damage to the item or our home. Each box or piece of furniture was tagged with a certain color of masking tape. All items arrived as tagged in Scottsdale and we assumed the same in Franklin. However, when we moved them out of storage there were numerous boxes from three areas of the house that were missing. No one had been in our storage unit so we can only assume that they were not sent and remained in the Gypsum warehouse. We repeatedly asked to have them search the warehouse or let family members go search, but to no avail. They would not cover any of our loss saying that the time lapse was too great. We feel they were negligent in loading the boxes and feel that they should have reimbursed us for our loss.

We knew there would be an unavoidable risk of breakage en route, and accepted that some of our things would be damaged no matter how well packed. However, we hoped that hiring professionals who do this very thing for a living, and present their unique training as cause for specialized retention and payment, would mitigate that risk We were gravely mistaken in choosing Allied Van Lines (through Alliance Moving Systems) and write this to hopefully save someone else the same heartache. On load day, I provided plenty of boxes, packing blankets, wrapping paper, tie downs and plywood sheets. While loading, I noticed the packers were wrapping all the furniture in only a bit of cellophane, and they refused my request to use the blankets, obliging me to call their supervisor. I was told essentially to mind my own business, but the blankets were indeed utilized--to wrap pillows! The majority of the wood furniture was carelessly protected, the boxes were stacked haphazardly without regard to weight order; many heavy boxes were stacked up high, and only a few horizontal straps applied, while most of the plywood sheets were stacked inanely on the side. Many other boxes, pieces of furniture and equipment suffered damage ranging from crush injury to utter destruction, which I will forbear enumerating here. Thus, all my efforts to prevent the worst by providing supplies were disdained, my respectful concerns were met with deplorable customer service, our belongings were treated with downright contempt, and we ultimately suffered excessive and needless loss.

After two weeks I found my cord.. To late since I had purchased a new one. After pointing out my Baccarat crystal they were packed underneath heavy glasses. Thank goodness only two were cracked. Moulding from custom made breakfront was ripped off. He wanted to leave before finding the shelves to bookcase and drawers. I stood in front of the door and said he had to find them before leaving.
