I went here because my in-laws, who live in Dunedin, thought I would like it because I am an American. Zero street appeal (no windows or view into it) should have been an early warning. Unique character and music was good. Drinks selection included the unique maga-lager-rita. Staff were friendly but a Mexican that has run out of chicken and a kitchen that cannot successfully make chilli (the server advised 'its just not working tonight) plus other mains that were just bland (except the cheese chilli bites) made this visit memorable for all the wrong reasons. Some serious self reflection is needed by whoever owns this restaurant as to what the food experience they want their customers to have - because I could never ever recommend anyone to go here until the food quality and availability improves a lot. read more

The ambiance was good, but that's about it. The food was only ok, definitely not even close to authentic Mexican, or even Tex-Mex. The Chimichanga and Burrito were almost the same, and were just plain and not special. It tasted like something I could make at home very easily. The "salsa" was just marinara sauce, which was disgusting. Not only that, but the grande portion was not even close to a large plate. I was still hungry. On top of that, the food was expensive and the service was extremely slow. We waited for over 40 minutes just for two dishes and the restaurant hardly had anyone there. Went with 3 friends who go there frequently so know the menu well. We ordered nachos, quesadilla, jalapeño bites, tortilla chips and churros to share under their recommendation. The portions were huge and we had more than enough. Ended up taking some home. The staff were friendly but lacked basic customer service skills such as being aware of when customers are ready to be served, are done with their food and ready to order desserts. We found ourselves waiting for well over over half an hour to place an order for desserts and we ended up going up to the counter to order. When our churros finally came out the staff had said they had had an issue with making the churros so they were not to the best quality, so they gave us more complimentary churros to make up for this. Overall the experience was alright, I feel if you are going with a group this place would be ideal. read more
