It is finally time for me to leave this review that I have been waiting to write for 2 years. I wanted my daughter to reach a certain point of success in healing before leaving a review so that our story could attest to our wonderful experience - Dr. Garvey's true hearts desire to help and heal people through her practice. First of all, the AAT treatments can give you immediate allergy relief! But whatever it is in your body that is causing you to have those allergic reactions needs addressing. And that part takes a lot longer. My Daughter was born anaphylactic. She almost died three times before the age of three from eating normal food everyone else could eat. We were on a first name basis with the ambulance crews in all three towns surrounding us. The whole world made her itch. No one would help us. Mainstream medical doctors said "she will never grow out of this, here's an epi pen, and some steroid cream." And sent us on our way. Any kind of food/ herb that was supposed to help, her body would reject. The only things she could eat safely were rice/quinoa, carrots, and celery. But even then, her eyes would be puffy and itch badly after eating. Fast forward to today: The world does not make her itch. She can take any kind of supplement, can eat any kind of food and not be itchy. She has no stomach pain, no eczema, no puffy itchy eyes for the first time in her life. I saw Dr. Garvey last Spring (2013) for the worst allergy year of my life. I couldn't take it any longer. I've had allergies since 9th grade and have visited Ear/Nose Throat doctors since but last year was terrible. Dr. Garvey identified four major irritants that were causing me trouble (the same ones my western medicine needle test identified). Cats, Dogs, Dust and Pollen. She treated me for ONE allergen that was most active at that time - Pollen spores. I was suffering horribly with a runny nose, itchy watery eyes, a congested ear canal and postnasal drip. My ENT had me using a steroid nasal spray and zyrtec indefinitely which I hated taking. After my 1st appointment my symptoms lessened and I went back about 6 months later to work through the dust allergen (wish I had resolved that one before moving out of my dusty house) Today, 4/10/14, talking with another mom who is suffering with hay fever symptoms I realized I hadn't even noticed it was allergy season. I have no symptoms - nothing. I just saw a negative response about Dr. Garvey's techniques. I full-heartedly support her results, as I have been allergy-free for over a year now after having gone through her treatments. This is coming from someone that would go through at least 2 tissue boxes a week, wake up with both or at least one nostril plugged, and so on. I also had been under the care of Dr. Reid, and the SHOTS DID ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Shots are old school, the treatment I got from Dr. Garvey is the new approach that other doctors should research and look into. I used to have to take a pill each day, and when it got really bad, took Claritin D on top of that. Sure, she's not covered by insurance, but spending the money for the treatments and to live my life normally again is more than worth it. I highly recommend her service. By the way John, no one can guarantee results. You sound like you were a naysayer from the beginning, and maybe if you opened up your mind to something that has the potential to work, it may just (gasp) work. I had a full allergy treatment from Dr. C. Garvey 6 months ago. The result is absolutely non-existant. She 'diagnosed' 3 different types of allergies, 1 that was not existant, to my knowledge, and 2 that I had mentioned to her. These 2 respiratory allergies (animal's hair and pollens) have not been reduced. At this time they are worse, but it could be the season! I talked to 3 different people who reported remarkable results from her treatment. So I am not saying that this is a scam, I am just pointing out that, for some people at least, it does not work. Be very careful. 1. Dr. Garvey told me she had 100% success rate treating cat dander/hair allergies. Come to see in regular and filtered reviews here on yelp that she did not tell the truth about this. 2. Dr. Garvey promised to retreat me and make sure I was allergy free. After two treatments, she told me to see another doctor and would not stand by her promise. 3. When I reacted with asthma and post nasal drip to my cats 3 hours after her treatment, she reprimanded via a text message for not waiting 24 hours before telling her I reacted, even though it was obvious the treatment was unsuccessful 3 hours later. 4. My symptoms did not improve with two treatments. I imagine she may put a creative response to my complaint here on yelp, as she did with others who were unhappy with her services. I saw Christine Garvey 3 weeks ago for painful eczema on my eyelids. I had already been to my dermatologist and primary doctor. After 1 treatment, later that night, I felt 98% better. DOES NOT WORK - I am genuinely sad to report. I asked Dr. Garvey if she would guarantee results but she was unwilling to make any guarantee. I was desperate to deal with my allergy issues so I took a $430 leap of faith since allergy shots hadn't worked for me. I have been tested and treated by two traditional Allergy Physicians, Dr. Reid and Dr Russell Leong (both in San Francisco). I did a base line skin and breathing test 3 years ago with Dr. Leong and just completed a new test with Dr. Reid. Unfortunately, after having been proclaimed "allergy free" after a $700+ investment at Allergy Breakthrough Center. I still have reactions to pets, grasses, pollens and molds. To support this I also had the same reactive results from my skin test. My first suspicion that this didn't work occurred after inviting two friends to try it and they both reported that the process was bogus and the therapeutic results didn't occur for them. That was about $350 to attempt a resolution for their allergy groupings. Don't get me wrong Dr. Garvey is very nice but when it comes to allergy treatment I'm not convinced the computer can fix me anymore. I would also question the way you know how a allergy is cured. Dr. Garvey is a chiropractor, so are many people using this system. The answer to whether or not you have resolved the allergy is to push down on the arm? really sounds like a trick of body mechanics doesn't it? So if Dr. Garvey can push down on my arm I am allergic if not I am not allergic! Well if you know a lot about body mechanics don't you also know how to move the arm in just the right way to get the result you want? I'm not sure but someone might also find this a peculiar way to confirm resistance to an allergy. I'd like to see the double blind studies for this system. As a well educated person I'm kind of embarrassed to admit I fell for this but I was really desperate to solve my allergy problems. I also hope my FSA doesn't disqualify my expenses since this really isn't considered a qualified FSA expense. read more

I saw Dr Garvey for constitutional problems involving fatigue, depression, body ache and poor sleep. I had a restricted diet as this is what I was reduced to eating, so that I could continue to work. My symptoms were "moderate" unless I was stressed, and then they became moderate-severe, and I was concerned that I wasn't going to be able to work the entire day. Dr Garvey had a basic history that she collected. Her process uncovered a sensitivity to Metals, which I have a mouth-full of, and this was treated on the first visit. I felt toxic that night, with poor sleep, racing mind, and feeling very low energy in the morning. She then tested again, when I returned several days later, and treated me for my reaction to my computer and electric fields. Again went home feeling relaxed, but plagued again by poor sleep, body ache and feeling "down". I knew this was a de-toxification, and it passed leaving me feeling somewhat improved. I slowly began to feel better, and returned to Dr Garvey a third time. She found sensitivity to coffee, which I had a long history with, as I did the Metals in the first visit. Again, I was treated and felt toxic that night after what had been a very relaxing treatment. I kept getting complements from people that I "looked better". I noticed that my mood had improved, and I slowly noticed a resilience to stress, which coincided with a really good mood.. My fourth treatment was just recently. I was tested and treated for sugars This time I went to bed that night feeling CALM...I slept well, and realized that something had really changed...I again have noted an increase in energy, improved mood, improved sleep, and resilience to stress, but this time it is stronger, and I have been exercising more - not because I HAVE to but because I feel so good that I want to do something... I can't wait to go back...I have been looking for something this simple and yet, this profound, for years...can you imagine what it would be like to have the weight of substance sensitivities taken off of you, and how your health would change if over a few weeks everything that you had been found to be "reactive" to was just magically taken away? PLEASE RESEARCH THIS ALLERGY TREATMENT BEFORE YOU INVEST. I am a huge fan of the healthfood store, herbal and alternative medicines and have seen chiropractors for back problems throughout the years. I am not going to try to stop you from trying AAT allergy treatment, but I think you really should know what you're getting into before you spend a dime on it. I really like Dr. Garvey, she's intelligent, friendly, beautiful. But this treatment did not do anything for me. I felt a fool for trying it because the methodology defies logic and science in so many ways. Ways that a layperson, not just someone with medical education could spot a mile away. 1- Dr Garvey could not explain how a USB wristband could translate DNA codes of allergens into my body to stimulate an allergic response. (there wasn't any) 2-Dr Garvey could not explain how using a vibrating tool along my spine whose vibrations were ATCG DNA codes of allergens were able to be understood by the body or how they could stimulate the body to no longer be allergic to a substance. 3-Dr. Garvey's method of determining if you are allergic is a simple parlor trick of arm strength, similar to this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GRRDh1CS-4o 4-I did not see any change in my allergies. 5- Dr. Garvey will tell you that if you still have allergy symptoms, it's because she has not cured ALL of your allergies, and that will require at least several treatments and several hundred dollars. 6- Much has been written about this AAT methodology. Here's the thing. I had a very serious allergy - the type that when I was exposed to the allergen I would get huge welts all over my body and serious anaphylaxis type symptoms. One of my friends told me about her and the success she had, so I said, what the heck, I'll give it a try because the cost was comparable to what you'd spend in allergy medicine alone and much much less than trips to the ER. Lo and behold, after one treatment, I was cured. I was super skeptical about the treatment, so when I knew I was at risk for exposure to the allergen after the treatment, I was still armed with my epi-pen, my Benadryl, and other emergency things just in case I had a bad reaction. Amazingly, no reaction. I can't explain it and don't know why it worked, it just did. Its been a year now, and I'm still good. I had been on 40mg of prednisone for 2 & 1/2 years. The prednisone made my rash more tolerable but the side effects of the prednisone were becoming worse than the actual rash. A friend told me about Christine and the treatment she provided. I had been off of the prednisone for about five months and the rash was gaining strength again and making me miserable.
