THERE IS A SAINT FOR THAT If you live in Western Washington, you are probably familiar with the term " There is an app for that." And while these apps can seem numerable and appear to do a lot, they pale in comparison to Catholics Saints in both number , functions, and blessings. This store is blessed with a very large inventory of Saints paraphernalia. That, of course, doesn't even scratch the surface of WONDERFUL items that this store offers. The list is truly too long to write ranging from Baptism kits to paintings, and Nativity scenes. Not to mention jewelry. Prices are about what you would expect. You have to ring the doorbell to get in ( don't worry, they are not closed if you come during the posted hours) Once inside, you feel that you are in a sanctuary. The staff is warm, friendly, knowledgeable, and comforting. I live almost two hours away , but it is worth the drive. When I needed a particular gift for a family member and realized the Alleluia store near me had closed, I drove south to this one. Parking was easy and they had exactly what I wanted. I was a little taken aback by one sales person who, in the process of showing me the section I needed, commented on the "supposed recent pandemic." Excuse me? Seemed like an odd thing to say when so many people lost loved ones. And very out of place in this store. read more

This is my go to store. I feel like a kid in a candy store when I'm browsing. I could hours in the store and I wish I had $$$ to buy all the beautiful crosses, Bibles and statues. Sadly I used to believe this store was interested in fidelity to the Church's teachings and promoting authentic teachings. However they recently made this post on Facebook which shows that is not the case. Sadly I believe people faithful to the Church should find a new store. read more

I don't really know how my review could be so different from the ones I've read before it, except that all the other people seemed to have been in a hurry when they had their bad experience. Alleluia is a destination for me. I go there at least once a month, most times more, to buy something, not because I really have the money to, but because I really like the store and the people there. Also, I am not a cradle catholic, I'm an adult convert who fell away from the church for a long while, so I maybe? have more questions that I need answered than most. The experience and the patience, and the information that both the male employee L and usual female employee J are so helpful and insightful to me that I keep coming back, even though I am on a limited income. They have helped me find some peace and come back to the faith and I am grateful. I enjoy their selection, they have a lot of DVD's to rent in English and Spanish. But mostly I come to it because the people are so welcoming and helpful. That being said, I usually go to the store when I have plenty of time to spare and try to wait if they have a different customer they are helping. I know that its not always easy to find time to go to a store when you work, have children, and activities. I just know for me its more than a store. If I wanted to buy things at a store, I have a lot of other options I'm sure. For me it is the people and their knowledge and the feeling that its not just a business.. its more like a ministry or something they put their heart into. I've never written a yelp review before, and I signed up just to write this review because this IS my FAVORITE bookstore, and when I was looking for their hours of operation on Ash Wednesday somehow I ended up here, and the reviews were just so horrible. We were visiting the area and just happened upon this store. We spent quite some time in the store looking at everything. The lady working (Jane) did come and ask us if we needed help a few times but left us to ourselves as we browsed through. We came in looking for a specific bible version and left with two bags full of items. Jane even helped us with finding a church to attend mass that matches our preferred type of service. read more

The first time I went into this store I was looking for a rosary for a friend. I patiently waited while the girl finished up talking with a customer. I asked if I could see a rosary from the locked case. The girl went back to the register to get the case key and another woman, who had just walked in, started asking her a question. Instead of indicating to this woman that she was helping another customer she started answering her questions. That was fine, I didn't mind at first. Apparently it was something quite involved because she was taking a long time. The girl completely dismissed me, not once saying anything like "sorry, I'll be right with you". Nothing to indicate that she was going to come back to me. After 10 minutes of waiting, I left. I went back in recently with my husband, we were looking for a Virgin of Guadalupe statue. This time, the same girl was there and she was on the phone. We walked around for several minutes then stood at the counter waiting to be rung up for another 5 minutes. She did not even acknowledge our presence in the store. She never got off the phone, never said "Hello", or "I'll be right with you". Never once indicated that we were in the store and that she had noticed. Nothing. I don't care if you have St. Mary on the phone, you could at least acknowledge that someone has come into your store. This is a small store in Kent. Not the best location for tons of shopping traffic. I am baffled as to why they don't have their employees trained on the very basics of customer service. Needless to say, after these two experiences I wont be going back. Even if they had what I need there, I wouldn't want to support a store that treats customers in such a disdainful manner. How do they stay in business with that kind of employee driving away customers?? Maybe their sales are supported by divine intervention but they wont be supported by me. read more

I came for their bracelets, and found what i was looking for. The only thing that bothered me was the lady that was working started asking me about my religion, and i understand it's a catholic store but she sort of attacked my friend, and asked why he was catholic, and she explained to us why she was one. The store became quiet after that, and i just waited outside. I came and got what i wanted, that's all. read more

I needed a last minute first communion candle set for a child who had none. I got some rings quickly as I only had a few minutes to get to mass. Waited in line patiently and the lady went on babbling about a medal she encouraged a customer to purchase. The customer and her spouse telling the lady that she had a customer waiting for a while,- she responded to them she didn't have a rush she had time. Purposefully ignoring my evident presence (I only 2 feet from her). How rude. I waited and yet again they bluntly appointed her to me the ever patient customer who was in a rush. Yet she ignored it saying that she had time to look through the order book with her. I returned the items 10 rosary rings and a fancy boxed first communion kit. With no more time to spare. I said thank you politely-showing her that I still had manners -unlike herself. I'll give the child my bible and a small regular candle I guess. It's a shame, I had just found this store not too long ago and was planning to make it my family's exclusive-go-to, Catholic store, but this bad customer service and respect for clients is disappointing. read more

I've always had very good customer service from this Catholic bookstore. I went in to purchase a book to read while on lunch during jury duty, and the employee acknowledged me immediately and showed me to the area to look for the type of book I was asking about. When I asked about a particular author and the store didn't have any of his books in stock, the clerk offered to order it for me. I'm very surprised by the other review, and actually wonder at its veracity. read more

I am a frequent customer of Alleluia Catholic Store in Kent as not only do I find the store a great resource on items I need, the staff go above and beyond to attend to my questions and requirements. This is the benefit of going to an actual brick and mortar business establishment (literally the store is in a brick like building!) - you are afforded the opportunity to scrutinize the product and actually get assistance from someone knowledgeable about the item/s. Jean and Luis in particular are outstanding resources to answer your questions. (See I even got to talk to them and know their names! When does that ever happen in a store and I'm a shy person!). One very specific great customer service I received was when I was looking for a Bible to give my wife who was interested then in doing Bible study. Jean after inquiring about what it is that I was looking for, gave various options and the one particular Bible version that they did not actually have in the store that day got delivered soon after. So happy that there is such a store nearby to exemplarily address my needs! And when you leave the store you are bid with "God Bless!"...how awesome is that? read more

Very friendly help. Checked 6 stores and Alleluia had the best veil selection for first communion. Not the cheapest but still a reasonable price. We were encouraged to try them on to find the best choice. Many beautiful gift items large and small. read more

i've only ever dealt with the kent alleluia catholic store over the phone, but always found the salespersonnel to be prompt, solicitous, courteous, and helpful. they go way beyond the norm to help you. i always leave the phone conversation feeling i've been listened to and heard. read more
